  • Every regiment, squadron, troop or whatever other formation you can think of has biffs. Biff culture is very much a thing and very much just accepted because it’s easier than assuming everyone is lying about injuries, which is honestly what you’d need to do to weed it out. People probably did hate him. I doubt he was unaware of it, he probably just didn’t care. Army is one of those jobs where if you just intend on doing your 12 years as a bang average Private/Lance Corporal, you can.
