  • My girlfriend lives there and I've spent some time at her place, always spotlessly clean area and corridors, the room is very nice, the walls have a nice colour and the furniture is great quality. The kitchen is also quite nice and although this is subjective but the view from the rooms are usually good. The common areas and the lifts are also clean and nice. The walls are a bit thin and the wi-fi is quite average. Overall I think its great value, I considered moving there but it's too far from my uni. by baszodani (Sun 9th Jun 2019 12:41am)
  • It happens time to time. He has a roommate with a naturally deep and loud voice and she often finds it a bit annoying that she can hear him through the walls. This is true to most student accommodations but I found it important to mention by baszodani (Sun 9th Jun 2019 7:45pm)
  • Yes, I have a couple years of experience working in the industry in several internships and I privately tutor other CompSci students, BSc and MSc as well, so performance or knowledge is not an issue, but I have no idea how I could work out this transfer, but wasting so much time studying introduction to programming with people who aren't even interested in the field and lecturers who don't care at all doesn't feel right. I tried to reach out to some lecturers to ask if there's any project or extra class I can take part of but no, so I want to leave by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 6:39pm)
  • I see, then I should contact the universities. I was also wondering which uni should I target, I want to make sure I don't end up in a place that is exactly like this by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 6:40pm)
  • I definitely need the paper, unfortunately quitting uni is not an option now, but yes, it would be really nice to just go and work, there are so many great opportunities out there waiting for me by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 6:47pm)
  • Thank you. How come they transferred from UoG to GCU? Is it better for psychology, or overall? by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 7:15pm)
  • Yes, I think they can help the most, the community seems to get mad at me for my query. Thank you by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 8:19pm)
  • I have a friend who transferred to Dundee for the same exact reason, but I need to stay in Glasgow. by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 8:18pm)
  • I am aware of that I cannot avoid doing this work, but my main issue is that high performing students are not supported and the low expectations demotivate me. Don't tell me that there is no way for a high performing student to make the most out of their BSc. by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 8:17pm)
  • Yes, UWS Paisley. This place is a joke by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 8:23pm)
  • I also think that they would pay, I cannot be the first person to switch course, but of course I need to contact them as well to make sure by baszodani (Wed 9th Oct 2019 8:32pm)
  • As far as I can tell after living here for 1 year as a uni student, this is part of the culture and is not considered anything bad. The line between having fun and mindlessly thrashing the city and harassing people on the street lies further than one coming from a more disciplined country would expect. It has its benefits, mostly for the party people, but not being able to go to the shop at 8pm because drunken idiots will come up to me and say all sort of stupid shit and shout at me is quite the disappointment in the system. Overall I highly appreciate your idea and really agree with you by baszodani (Sat 19th Oct 2019 10:41pm)
  • It does seem intuitive, it’s absolutely disgusting what I have to hear and see after 8am every single day. If you would tell Polish or Hungarian people what goes on here during the night they would be absolutely horrified, and they would tell you that they would be calling the police in 5 minutes. I also wish if nights were quiet and safe, Glasgow might just not be the right place for us calm people by baszodani (Sat 19th Oct 2019 10:47pm)

  • People who complain about the buses never lived in a city where everyone uses cars and there are 4-6-8 lane streets in city centre and theres so much dust and smoke in the air u cant breathe. by baszodani (Wed 12th Aug 2020 11:53pm)
  • I have a 180MP version as well but thats 100+ megabytes so I couldn't upload it :( I made the panorama using Microsoft Image Composite Editor, stitching together multiple 16MP photos by baszodani (Thu 14th Jan 2021 12:32pm)
  • I'm still glad I'm not on the other side of the accommodation. I get to see the university and paisley instead of the dumpsters by baszodani (Thu 14th Jan 2021 4:05pm)

  • Dude I am just trying to rent a flat in Paisley because I want to move out of the overpriced and tiny student accommodation. 400 won't get you more than a shitty, moldy ground floor studio in an old building with junkies. And the worst part? These flats are all taken in literally a day. I've tried renting two overpriced shit flats in terrible parts of Paisley, both were taken on the day or the day after the viewings. What the hell is going on by baszodani (Tue 30th Mar 2021 10:48pm)
  • I assume for 500-ish I would have better luck, so I am definitely looking at the absolute bottom of the barrel with these flats but it's still crazy how bad they are and how quickly they are taken by others by baszodani (Wed 31st Mar 2021 10:59am)
  • To be honest I totally understand this, and as I said that's just a minor annoyance but not wanting to rent a flat to me when there are UK professionals wanting to rent it as well is 100% understandable and I'm sure it was always like this. What I am more surprised by is how fast these flats go and I was wondering if this is normal or if anyone else is experiencing this in other price ranges/other areas? by baszodani (Tue 13th Apr 2021 11:54am)
  • I check several times on gumtree as well and already talked to a few landlords there/viewed a few flats but usually the same situation as with agencies. Flats are gone in 24 hours. I'll keep trying though by baszodani (Tue 13th Apr 2021 1:58pm)
  • Thanks a lot, that's a great idea, I'll check if there's any facebook group or local community for this. by baszodani (Tue 13th Apr 2021 1:56pm)
  • That's a great idea, someone else mentioned putting down the deposit as soon as possible if I really want the flat. I think I will try to do that by baszodani (Tue 13th Apr 2021 1:55pm)
  • I'm only here to study but considering that it will be a minimum of 6 years I have an NI number, British bank account, and a British phone number. Flat shares are not really optimal for me as they rarely have ensuite rooms which would be very important for me. As for the student accommodations, well I already am in one. But as you said I might take a look at flats that the local council can provide, I think I can recall one of my Polish coursemates getting a flat that way but I'm not sure. Great idea though, thanks! by baszodani (Wed 14th Apr 2021 11:35am)

  • I pay 40-45 a month now, living alone in 2 bedroom flat with ScottishPower pay as you go. When i use the heaters then 60-65. Basically 17 pennies per kWh by baszodani (Tue 29th Jun 2021 5:45pm)
  • 400-450 is more realistic in Paisley or anywhere at least from 10 minutes from Glasgow but close to centre or west end unfortunately:/ by baszodani (Wed 30th Jun 2021 11:31pm)
  • For me £370 for 2 room flat in Paisley £40 for electricity, no gas (ScottishPower) £25 for broadband (nowtv broadband) £8 for phone (12GB data with Three) £100-120 for groceries(asda and morrisons) Plus spotify, netflix and amazon prime No council tax because I’m a student by baszodani (Fri 2nd Jul 2021 4:45pm)
  • Yes it’s 10 minutes by train, the same flat closer to centre would cost you around 100 more by baszodani (Fri 2nd Jul 2021 5:01pm)
  • I suggest going to the ocean, maybe Troon by baszodani (Mon 5th Jul 2021 3:05pm)
  • They help you with the lifting and packing but you always need to let them know in advance what the job is so they know what size van they need, 1 or 2 guys and whether they need any tools. by baszodani (Tue 13th Jul 2021 7:51pm)
  • Temporary probably means months minimum. When I was in Reading for 3 months last year roughly they always told me it would be fixed but that never happened by baszodani (Tue 13th Jul 2021 9:18pm)
  • someone should sneak an irn bru in the display of one of these shops by baszodani (Thu 15th Jul 2021 10:43am)
  • I forgot that I already had a return ticket to Paisley so I got another one. It’s a 16-25 railcard edition so probably best if you only take it if you also have railcard by baszodani (Sat 17th Jul 2021 10:52pm)

  • I'ts extremely hard to get a flat for anyone now (got several coursemates and friends who have been looking all summer) but it's absolutely possible. I was able to get a flat near my uni in Paisley as a 3rd year international student with no references at all and being unemployed while doing some contracted work to earn a little money. They did ask me to pay several months up front, I did that and got the flat by baszodani (Mon 16th Aug 2021 12:08am)
  • Depending on the size of the case I might even buy it or give something in return. Do you have a model name? by baszodani (Sat 21st Aug 2021 4:12pm)
  • Thanks! It's very similar to what I have now, I was hoping that maybe its a smaller one. Thanks anyways, I hope you can donate it somewhere :) by baszodani (Sat 21st Aug 2021 5:39pm)
  • In Paisley you can easily and quickly get a flat under 600pm, even around 400pm there are some good ones. If you don’t have anywhere to sleep your only option is sleeping on the street DM me :) by baszodani (Thu 9th Sep 2021 1:49am)
