  • As a visitor to Glasgow a guy asked me for spare change for some weed so I gave him a few quid, some old dear started on me saying he's only going to buy drugs with that. I said I know love that's why I gave it to him. 🤣 by bertiebastard (Tue 5th Oct 2021 6:52am)
  • You should be able to get documents via your embassy in the UK, try contacting them. by bertiebastard (Fri 8th Oct 2021 4:51am)
  • If you show proof of your address with your photo ID and explain that it's the only vehicle you have access to for bringing large items they should be ok. by bertiebastard (Fri 8th Oct 2021 10:51am)
  • All their calls should be recorded, so I'd file a complaint against them as people like that just give the decent council workers a bad name. by bertiebastard (Fri 19th Nov 2021 11:52am)
  • Loving the cone. I might just have a cone with Christmas lights on it. My daughter always moans that I don't put a tree up. This would be a perfect compromise. by bertiebastard (Sat 4th Dec 2021 11:03pm)
  • Cheaper to tax it than that though. by bertiebastard (Fri 28th Jan 2022 4:09pm)
  • Get a camera definitely and the police will prosecute using camera evidence sent in to them, I'd even go so far as getting a rear facing camera too that way it will show the registration in case you get knocked off and the front camera misses it. by bertiebastard (Fri 29th Apr 2022 3:48pm)
  • Ah shit I saw the story last month and assumed it was up and running by now, it's already in use in England and Wales. so I assumed it could just be rolled out for Scotland too. by bertiebastard (Fri 29th Apr 2022 6:04pm)
  • The can't prosecute retrospectively is bollocks because if I kill someone on CCTV that's used as evidence against me to prove I committed the crime. They just couldn't be bothered doing their job. by bertiebastard (Sat 30th Apr 2022 9:04am)
  • It's beyond lazy, as you have already done their work for them and they still can't be bothered to issue a ticket. by bertiebastard (Sat 30th Apr 2022 11:49am)

  • This has fucked up the house prices across Wales, they have been invaded by the English and the locals can't afford to live in the villages they were born in because of the ridiculous house prices caused by English people with too much money buying up all the properties. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-59826101 by bertiebastard (Mon 9th May 2022 1:10pm)
  • This reminds me of a flat I rented above a cafe, the cafe closed down and an Indian takeaway moved in and every single thing that I owned stunk of spices after a couple of weeks . I was having to wash and dry clothes and then seal them in plastic bags, otherwise I smelt like vindaloo walking around by bertiebastard (Mon 9th May 2022 2:50pm)
  • Had the same thing happened to me I phoned the police and they weren't interested so I said fine I'll go smash some heads in myself then an hung up, the police soon turned up and sorted it out. by bertiebastard (Thu 12th May 2022 3:51pm)

  • I know that the ferry crossings aren't that bothered, as I bring a kilogramme of tobacco back from France quite regularly and you are only supposed to bring 250g per person. I'd assume as long as you're not trying to bring a suitcase full you should be ok with a few extra sleeves. by bertiebastard (Thu 9th Jun 2022 11:23am)

  • An easy way to check if a wall can be removed is to lift the floorboards upstairs and check if they are supporting the joists or running the same way as them, also check the loft to ensure they aren't supporting part of your roof. by bertiebastard (Thu 9th Jun 2022 2:15pm)
  • I'd assume that it's supporting your roof too mate. But you can still take the lower wall out you'll just need expensive structural steel I-beams put in to support the upper wall and the roof, but that's expensive to do. by bertiebastard (Thu 9th Jun 2022 5:21pm)
  • https://www.ramsdensforcash.co.uk/travel-money/compare-rates/ I'd definitely avoid the post office because they false advertise the rates that they will pay you. by bertiebastard (Fri 10th Jun 2022 2:16pm)

  • You only need to give your details if you are suspected of committing a crime or are a witness to a crime, if you are a witness you do not have to make a statement unless you want to and you do have the right to remain silent, if they question you. Police Scotland are also very slow in adopting body cams, as they like to hide their bad behaviour. by bertiebastard (Wed 29th Jun 2022 12:54pm)
  • They're definitely a bunch of nosey bastards that's for sure. Last time I got pulled over by them it was the usual bullshit documents check. Then they start with the bullshit questions. Q where are you going? A. None of your business. Q. Where have you been? A. Again none of your business. Q. A vehicle matching this description was seen near a burglary. A. Do I look like my fat arse climbs through windows (I'm in my 50s and 23 stone) Q.What are you doing out at this time of night ? A. Minding my own fucking business. Needless to say they went around the car looking for something to give me a ticket for, because I didn't play their games with them. by bertiebastard (Wed 29th Jun 2022 2:15pm)

  • Less stolen social media news items. Almost 70% of news stories are stolen from here or Tiktok, I'm not sure what exactly happened to real journalism, (you know actually going out and researching a story for yourself) but it seems to have disappeared. by bertiebastard (Thu 7th Jul 2022 12:36pm)
  • They brought in new laws giving private companies access to your address through your vehicle registration, so it's now more difficult to just ignore them. by bertiebastard (Thu 7th Jul 2022 1:03pm)
  • Tbh I'd rather have less stories that are actually based on journalism and not someone sat on their arse regurgitating tiktok and Reddit stories. It's not as if they are filling actual newspapers, most are online anyway, which is a greatly reduced overhead from the printed press of days gone by. by bertiebastard (Thu 7th Jul 2022 1:12pm)

  • It all depends on the length of the chain you are involved in. For example if it's just you and the seller and no onward purchase, then it's a fairly reasonable length of time. But if you have your seller waiting on another seller and then another seller and so on, they can all have delays at different times, which will then hold up the process. by bertiebastard (Tue 12th Jul 2022 10:22am)
  • I bought a £2000 king-size sleigh bed frame off FB market place for £80 , two IKEA Malm 5 drawer chests for £40. If you look on IKEA for the style you want then throw it in the search bar on FB market place you can usually find what you are looking for really cheap. And if you arrange to pick them up on the same day you can just hire a van or a man and a van to pick it up. by bertiebastard (Tue 12th Jul 2022 12:03pm)
  • I know that applw are guilty of telling people things are unfixable to get you to buy a new one and if you do manage to get them to carry out a repair they charge ridiculous prices to discourage you from getting a repair , simplyfixit seem to be the best option and they have great reviews on Google by bertiebastard (Tue 12th Jul 2022 1:06pm)

  • The way I look at it is this. if we all started tipping you just know that we will end up down the American rabbit hole where it becomes the wages of the staff instead of for good service. The only time I tip is if there's a large group of us and we've been well looked after by the staff by bertiebastard (Tue 19th Jul 2022 7:23pm)
