  • Thanks for your response! > They don't appear to manage the property, they just advertise it and handle the paperwork/deposit protection etc. From the reviews on allagents it would actually seem they are in charge of more of that, such as repairs and the like? > As always, if the flat/landlord is shit, you give 28 days' notice and you're out of there. That's very good to know, I've read that in several places on this subreddit by now, but unfortunately I could not find any source elsewhere (such as Citizens' Advice or Shelter) saying this - instead they all seem to say that 28 days' notice is the default, but a longer notice period might be specified in the contract. Could you point me to a source/some further reading in this? by bourgeoisfilth (Wed 24th Mar 2021 6:28pm)
  • Don't know that yet, could ask that at the viewing tomorrow. However since I live in Ayr at the moment I'd like to avoid having to take the train to Glasgow if it's not really worth it, which is why I decided to ask about the agent here. But maybe I can send them a message by bourgeoisfilth (Wed 24th Mar 2021 6:30pm)

  • Just had the same experience. Did the https://invitations.vacs.nhs.scot/ form two days ago and immediately got a reply saying there's "no existing appointment" and that they've passed it on to a "specialist team". Haven't heard back since. Called 0800 030 8013 today but all they did was just fill out the form for me again, and I got the same response. Then I called 0800 917 6115 just now and got an appointment for tomorrow. So chuffed to finally get my first dose. And thank you so much for sharing what you know! Wouldn't have known about the second phone number otherwise. by bourgeoisfilth (Fri 21st May 2021 6:43pm)
  • Yes, those too. by bourgeoisfilth (Mon 24th May 2021 1:32pm)
  • You'll get the most reliable information when you call the local NHS helpline for Greater Glasgow & Clyde: 0800 917 6115 by bourgeoisfilth (Fri 4th Jun 2021 6:04pm)
  • >I believe they also require a proof of address in order to set up the account. IIRC they're also more flexible with what they count as proof of address, so it could be worth a shot for OP. by bourgeoisfilth (Mon 4th Oct 2021 11:48am)

  • Does anybody know if the Clyde Arc (Finnieston) is open for pedestrians/cyclists? by bourgeoisfilth (Wed 3rd Nov 2021 1:55pm)
  • Yeah hell no. 16 years of stagnation at best, corruption and illiberalism at worst. Don't get me wrong, I think she was a good leader insofar as she pretty much personified stability, and she showed much more integrity than anyone else within her party, but that's really all she got going for herself, that she didn't actively make her country worse. • tl;dr: night buses will run every Friday and Saturday night from now on. For the first two weekends there's a promotional offer where a night bus single ticket will cost £1.50 (rather than the usual £3). They're also introducing a new ticket called 6pm PLUS, which costs £4 and is valid from 6pm for the rest of the day and all night buses. I myself moved here during the pandemic so both lockdown and being faced with a public transport system that significantly fell short of my expectations made it very hard to build up a circle of friends. This seems like an important improvement to help out the social aspect of life in the city. Happy to hear these news. by bourgeoisfilth (Tue 30th Nov 2021 11:56pm)
  • I will be there as well if still possible! by bourgeoisfilth (Wed 1st Dec 2021 11:43pm)
  • Induced demand is a very real thing. I wish this council put a lot more focus on public transport, cyclists, and pedestrians. Then we could take finding away from car infrastructure and it wouldn't even hurt much, because demand would have been induced to flow elsewhere. by bourgeoisfilth (Sun 5th Dec 2021 1:36pm)
  • Cheers for the details! The N9 goes to Paisley yeah? Do you happen to know what the terminus at the other end is? I would have assumed it's the same route as the regular 9 but that [doesn't seem to be the case](https://www.firstbus.co.uk/uploads/node_images/%28b1%29_009_9A_routemap_web_0.pdf), since you mentioned the N9 stopped at the Garage. by bourgeoisfilth (Fri 10th Dec 2021 2:44am)
  • Don't have any advice to give but I just wanted to thank you for choosing to adopt. Drives me nuts how many animals get treated like mere property by people, so I'm upvoting this for visibility. by bourgeoisfilth (Mon 13th Dec 2021 9:11pm)
