Sauchiehall Street used to be the place to go for shopping. Nothing like the shops we have now round about Buchanan Street or the Galleries or Princess Sq but back when M&S was the place for high end and Wimpy was your burger of choice, John Menzies for everything in the Sauchiehall Centre. The thing with Glasgow is that you can walk a street and cross into Bandit territory. There are fewer chances of this as you get towards the heart of the west end but everywhere has its boundaries. Up near the Tesco can be rough so I'll begin by asking would I cycle or walk by there. I would avoid it if possible. Firhill is prob the same. It's all scenario based though. For instance the main artery roads from town and charing cross to firhill.I wouldn't walk down after dark.
