  • I moved to Glasgow from another country almost 6 years ago and it is still amazing to me how incredibly kind and lovely Glaswegians are. About three years ago when I was going back home from work around 11pm I left my phone on the bus. I was 100% sure that someone just took it and I basically have to buy a new one. But my sister encouraged me to try call that phone. I did it, although had absolutely no hope. It turned out that not only someone gave my phone to the driver but also that driver picked up - and he didn't have to, because First has some sort of lost&found office so he could've have ignored that phone call and left it there after his shift - and told me what time he'll be again at the bus stop near my home. Less than one hour later I was holding my phone in my hand. by constructivz (Mon 26th Jul 2021 5:47pm)
  • I regularly run in Alexandra Park at night (also started in winter last year) and tbh think that it’s much nicer than running in daylight. During day pavements in the park tend to be crowded and more than few times I had a situation when a dog that wasn’t on a leash started chasing me. The only problem for me is that as a woman I don’t feel completely safe running at night so wouldn’t mind couple of lanterns here and there. by constructivz (Fri 5th Nov 2021 12:11am)
  • Open mic nights at Bloc+ could be a good option by constructivz (Mon 8th Nov 2021 4:05am)
  • Not exactly a gardening club per se, but really recommend volunteering at Washhouse Garden in East End. Really great people, and some are really knowledgeable about plants. by constructivz (Wed 15th Dec 2021 7:52pm)
  • I heard it too! I was at that time outside, in Dennistoun. First saw a flash of light but assumed it was just something wrong with street light behind me. Heard very loud thunder-like sound coming from the north couple of minutes later. Really creepy. by constructivz (Mon 21st Feb 2022 12:19pm)
  • Usually I run by myself and agree that it's amazing, but sometimes I just would like to be a part of a group focused around this activity, where I could socialize etc. by constructivz (Fri 18th Mar 2022 5:38pm)
  • Oh, this looks almost exactly like what I'm looking for. Any chance there will be walks on other days than weekends? I work in hospitality which means that very often my days off are in the middle of a week. by constructivz (Fri 18th Mar 2022 5:42pm)
  • It was already bad long before drivers shortage. Also, shortage is not an excuse for poor and misleading communication e.g. timetables that display non-existing buses. by constructivz (Sat 18th Jun 2022 11:59am)
  • I’d add 38 to the list. Those buses are so unreliable that it simply forced me to start cycling to work. Thankfully I have couple of Nextbike stations near my flat, but on the other hand my communte includes very busy roads and zero bikelanes (because Glasgow Council doesn’t care about building bike lanes anywhere outside of the city centre). by constructivz (Sat 18th Jun 2022 11:56am)
  • They have very questionable hygiene standards in my opinion. by constructivz (Sun 10th Jul 2022 2:51pm)
  • I moved to Paisley from Glasgow just few months ago and I’m also amazed how much cleaner it looks! Last year, when I was still staying in Dennistoun my family came from Poland for my graduation. Mind you, I come from a Polish city that is often regarded as one of the worst looking ones. And still, one of the first things my dad noticed as we were walking towards my old flat was how incredibly littered streets are. by constructivz (Sun 5th Mar 2023 7:12pm)
  • I was in exactly the same situation few weeks ago - I would just crash at the terminal because if you take bus at 1am you will arrive at the airport around 2, which means that in practice you’ll have only about 2 hours of waiting (I recommend going through security pretty early as queues tend to be very long even that early) Starbucks next to terminal’s entrance has okay-ish sitting area and plenty of sockets in case you need to charge your electronics. I was even able to take a nap. by constructivz (Tue 25th Apr 2023 12:24am)
