  • Be open about your dating experience and that you aren’t the best at social cue’s like and end of date kiss. Not being super serious, own it, laugh it off a little. Much safer to communicate about it than trying to second guess the situation. More importantly there will be many more dates down the line so don’t let this one define future ones! Unless it goes amazing in that case, do! by cwhitel (Sun 25th Jul 2021 12:55pm)
  • I’m sure it used to be like £1.80 14 years ago?! by cwhitel (Wed 28th Jul 2021 9:47am)
  • Nah, 80’s and even 70’s fenders are like £400+ by cwhitel (Thu 19th Aug 2021 8:21pm)
  • I am that “someone else” :) by cwhitel (Thu 19th Aug 2021 9:04pm)
  • If somebody buys something, then it could be anyone. How is this an argument? “You’ll never buy a hidden bargain because someone else will have bought it” Anybody can be somebody else. by cwhitel (Thu 19th Aug 2021 10:08pm)
  • This sub has zero patter by cwhitel (Fri 20th Aug 2021 3:57pm)
  • Don’t forget that pilots can pretty much do whatever they want for routine flights, like training. Doesn’t mean there’s anything going on, if you had free reign you’d want to check out a city. Plenty of the US marine/navy ospreys take a lap up to Loch Lomond too. by cwhitel (Tue 31st Aug 2021 4:52pm)
  • If it’s urgent, might have to deal with living next to a train station further out. Few quiet spots in rutherglen, had a few mates out there 15 years ago to save money.Preferred paying like £275 a month instead of £350 I was for the west end… I havn’t looked at rent in over 10 years… I imagine still the same? 👀 by cwhitel (Wed 1st Sep 2021 1:04pm)
  • Made by the English and given to the working class in Scotland an NI to keep us down 👀👀👀👀👀 by cwhitel (Fri 10th Sep 2021 2:35pm)
  • I was a ta rough pub in Hamilton not too long ago and some old lass left her purse. Called her and gave it to her and within minutes I was swarmed by most of the bams there saying it’s tradition to return it with money in it?! Fuck off then, gies it back and I’ll lose it for you by cwhitel (Fri 10th Sep 2021 6:47pm)
  • It’s no a mario kart level by cwhitel (Sun 12th Sep 2021 10:02am)
  • Are you filming the carpark? Or are you meaning how to stop that accent? by cwhitel (Mon 13th Sep 2021 4:20pm)
  • Definitely not a wind up unfortunately. by cwhitel (Wed 15th Sep 2021 4:53pm)
  • Probably should take this down. Filming their faces for the police… outside a known pub from your window that’s now easy to find? Could get in trouble. If not that, then limmy will be through your door for that accent! by cwhitel (Sat 18th Sep 2021 5:00pm)
  • Look at places outside glasgow near train lines. Rutherglen can be much cheaper for example. And it can be just for a year, wait till the students leave glasgow for the summer and move closer of you want. by cwhitel (Sat 25th Sep 2021 8:49am)
  • “Who the fuck wants to vacation there at this time of year?!!” I swear I’m getting on-set dyslexia the older I get by cwhitel (Sat 18th Dec 2021 12:16pm)
  • India is far too big a country to generalise. Some parts don’t use spices at all! For every dish there will be a contradictory dish elsewhere. by cwhitel (Mon 20th Dec 2021 10:10pm)
  • Just because they are dressed as deliveroo drivers doesn’t mean they work for them or are delivering food… by cwhitel (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 9:10pm)
  • Bring up a map of the train routes and pick from there. Don’t go to Edinburgh what the hell. I knew people that stayed in Rutherglen during uni. Lots of places like that around glasgow. by cwhitel (Sun 14th Aug 2022 8:56am)
  • Because it’s even more expensive, trains aren’t cheap and you’ll soon regret the 70 minute commute very quickly. If you are studying in glasgow you will want to enjoy glasgow too. by cwhitel (Sun 14th Aug 2022 9:02am)
  • Zone cards aren’t a thing now?! I too had zone cards for about 5-6 years, giant fat stack of them in fact. by cwhitel (Sun 14th Aug 2022 11:12am)
  • AMC will probably buy it. Cineworld tried to buy a smaller chain last year which AMC have recently bought I believe. I say they will buy it, they’ll get everything for free but be lumped with the bills. Cineworld was one of the UK’s best performing stocks after covid due to being one of the few businesses to get loans to tide it over lockdown, but now they are looming bad. by cwhitel (Fri 19th Aug 2022 5:59pm)
  • Landlord and donnor are the exact same pedal, it happens way more often than not. by cwhitel (Sun 21st Aug 2022 12:28pm)
  • “The music room” chain have Harley Benton guitars in their shops so maybe look there. There aren’t many non-fenders I’d buy (I use mine as art way more than playing!) but there are some pretty HB’s out there, a denim burst telecaster nearly got bought just on looks alone. by cwhitel (Sun 21st Aug 2022 12:30pm)
  • Get a map of Scottish train lines and look at towns 20 minutes away. Rutherglen comes to mind but that was my mates option over 10 years ago. Things have gone to shit the last couple years with renting however. Good luck [here’s a map](https://www.reddit.com/r/TransitDiagrams/comments/g7an00/oc_diagram_greater_glasgow_and_strathclyde/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_term=link) by cwhitel (Tue 23rd Aug 2022 3:46pm)
  • I’m not familiar with the name and where it was but, I’ve had amazing shops at both the one next to Caledonian uni and the one next to the glasgow angling centre. by cwhitel (Sun 4th Sep 2022 1:01am)
  • Gutted by cwhitel (Sun 4th Sep 2022 8:01am)
  • Set aside half a day to go through TKmaxx. Got some polo and ben Sherman’s for about £40 each and one lasted me 4 years of continuous use. by cwhitel (Sat 17th Sep 2022 9:22am)
  • Motherwell is a half hour train ride, look there and everything in between. by cwhitel (Thu 22nd Sep 2022 7:29am)
  • Arnold Clark rent out learner cars if you have someone who can sit with you, and also doubles up as a test-ready car too for much cheaper than a driving instructors car. Have you tried looking at places further away for dates? The town I lived in was 2-3 months in advance but, 25 minutes closer to glasgow you could get one within the week. by cwhitel (Sun 2nd Oct 2022 2:52pm)
  • Did you know the subway is named after belly buttons? You have the innie, and the outie… Anyone got a quid? by cwhitel (Fri 28th Oct 2022 2:07pm)
  • I’d do it all the time 12+ years ago local gigs were like £3 max. Lots of free gigs too. Few times as a student/young adult I’d span 14+ night on the trott just going to any gig, solely because I could. Bird at king tuts and I think someone at soundhaus let me into a few pricey gigs gratis as they knew I was there all the time. Then you grow up and move out the city and miss those days terribly! So take advantage of any opportunity to do cool stuff like that while you can! by cwhitel (Sat 29th Oct 2022 1:30pm)
  • I mean give it a few more months and you could probably buy the literal Vue cinema for cheap by cwhitel (Sat 29th Oct 2022 4:55pm)
  • If I don’t have change I’ll buy 5 sausage rolls and hand them out instead. by cwhitel (Tue 29th Nov 2022 12:06pm)
  • Fun fact: the 2 guys from Burnistoun wrote that; they wrote a lot of sketches for Chewin’ the Fat. by cwhitel (Fri 2nd Dec 2022 8:05am)
  • Would be class to promote this around the venues. To this day, I still have no idea how I managed to know ,what felt like, 90% of gigs in advance, week in week out. We’re talking the old bebo and MySpace days around 15-18 years ago now! These days I’m absolutely lost on what’s going on. by cwhitel (Fri 16th Dec 2022 12:18pm)
  • Me and my mate had a crackin perty up that cran. by cwhitel (Wed 21st Dec 2022 10:32pm)

  • The new fighter jets have been taking off down Lincoln and doing a few laps of the U.K. I believe. by cwhitel (Fri 30th Jun 2023 4:51pm)
  • The new jets have been flying with their American counterparts from Lincoln, not unusual to take a trip up Scotland to see the sights. by cwhitel (Fri 30th Jun 2023 8:06pm)
  • That’s fat bastard energy and I’m here for it! by cwhitel (Sat 1st Jul 2023 1:13am)
  • That’s fat bastard energy and I’m hear for it. by cwhitel (Sat 1st Jul 2023 1:13am)
  • There was a big woosh and then a bang in town, then I saw a gang of coo’s running from the bank with sacks on their back with “$” written on them. by cwhitel (Sat 1st Jul 2023 9:50am)
  • Don’t need to be supersonic to whoosh and rumble. by cwhitel (Sat 1st Jul 2023 10:37am)
  • Is that near Les Porters barbershop? by cwhitel (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 7:58pm)
  • Close, Softplay were by far! But that could have something to do with Bob and Bobby getting up. by cwhitel (Mon 10th Jul 2023 12:29pm)
  • It’s all scare tactics mate. Read the wording, they can “apply” for a warrant. Everything in this letter is what the average guy can do. Anything you say to me can be used in evidence too. by cwhitel (Sun 6th Aug 2023 11:02am)
  • Wasn’t one of them putting them into military accommodation, but it was found most accommodation wasn’t fit for humans? by cwhitel (Mon 7th Aug 2023 9:05pm)
  • Rangers football team is normally shortened to the first two letters, “Ra”. So if you see a couple guys in the blue strips at the pub, join in and chant “c’mon the Ra!” Or “up the Ra”. A sure way to get a few drinks with some randoms. by cwhitel (Mon 7th Aug 2023 10:53pm)
  • I hope it’s as powerful as the battery-acid one they have now. I don’t use energy drinks day to day just to wake up, when I do a cross country drive I need them, and the irn-bru one is by far the winner in terms of energy. by cwhitel (Tue 8th Aug 2023 9:59am)
  • Get a thick bath towel, absolutely soak it and then squeeze just enough water out till it stops dripping, then use it as a blanket. The water pulls the heat from your body as it evaporates. by cwhitel (Sat 9th Sep 2023 12:19am)
  • WHAT. I see it as 0545/1745. If time is linear, then back of six is hitting late 5 o clock. Leaving room for “the front of six” if that phrase were to ever get picked up. This is the only logical sense. by cwhitel (Fri 27th Oct 2023 9:30pm)
  • Monzo took a few hours by cwhitel (Sun 5th Nov 2023 2:28pm)
  • Maybe they do light background checks, I had multiple accounts before adding them. I was transferring money right away after the verification. by cwhitel (Sun 5th Nov 2023 2:41pm)
  • Jeez! I’d love to see softplay in an arena gig. by cwhitel (Thu 16th Nov 2023 4:58pm)
  • Why though? There are plenty nice flats in the city, 1 bed for like £800? by cwhitel (Sun 19th Nov 2023 2:38pm)
