  • Take pictures of absolutely every single scuff or mark on any wall anywhere in the property. Check if it’s been ‘deep cleaned’ I doubt it will have, but they absolutely will try and charge you an stupid amount when you move out and claim they need to do a deep clean that never gets done. Document it all the week you move in and email it to them that week. They will come after you for every single thing at the end of a term. by d1ffer (Wed 4th Aug 2021 10:17pm)

  • Linn Park is free to play and the council haven’t staffed it, but they are keeping up the fairways abs greens. It’s no Augusta, but free by d1ffer (Sat 21st Aug 2021 10:24am)
  • The sub club is your go to. However, it will not be like the Berlin scene. The main thing is the 3am (maybe now 4am) strict close. You will find the supplies you are after, but be some subtitle about it, it’s not like the toilets in the Berghain. But the Subby does have an incredible sound system and legit House on a Saturday night. by d1ffer (Wed 24th Nov 2021 10:23pm)

  • I lived in Calgary for 2-years. The cost of living was way higher than in Glagow. A single anecdote - a coliflour was $7 - £4.50 in the Safway (Tesco). Yes the petrol is cheaper, but you have to drive everywhere all the time, far Futher. by d1ffer (Sun 22nd May 2022 12:02am)

  • In the length of time it took OP to type out this post they could have been to www.cityfibre.com and watched all the easy to digest videos, detailing exactly what the deal is with them, in far more articulate detail that the random assortment of assumptions and moans you get on Reddit. The only question not answers explicitly on their site is the time between the infrastructure getting put in and when an ISP will come and hook you up - 6-months according the replies here. by d1ffer (Thu 15th Jun 2023 4:55pm)

  • I believe the only high Street bank that will accept these is barkleys. I know as I had a Canadian cheque and my bank TSB, would not accept it. I had to take it back to Canada to get cashed... by d1ffer (Sun 20th Aug 2023 11:18am)

  • You get the full two year exception if make yourself available and call the number but don't have your citation number called. Have had this happen where I got another citation, but I just emailed them the proof from the previous one from the year before and I got a very snippy response to say "fine, but you'll be required to attend after the two years is up". by d1ffer (Wed 30th Aug 2023 10:48am)
  • In your situation you’ve not made yourself available and are therefore still valid to be called again. You need to accept the citation and call the number until excused (usually 3-5 days). Then you are in the clear for 2-years. If you keep getting exemptions then they will keep after you by d1ffer (Thu 31st Aug 2023 8:06am)
  • This is the way. I got one there when going to the cinema. Just ignore it and the follow up letters no matter what they say. by d1ffer (Wed 15th Nov 2023 12:21pm)
  • Unless you have photos from when you moved in (that you shared to the agent at the time) you are mostly likely SOL. This is essentially a fuckibg tax that the agents skim off tennents. They try it with everyone. Last place I rented I took 50+ photos and video when we moved in as the place was fine , but clearlt not "deep cleaned" and I knew they'd come with this at the end. I emailed it all to them the following day and stated that it was clear no "deep clean" was done and I would be leaving the property in the condition it was when we arrived. Come time to move out I resent the same email and didn't hear a peep from them at the key drop off. by d1ffer (Wed 15th Nov 2023 10:30pm)
