  • It is a great school, but the admission competition is just so intense that there is more likely **not** to get a seat even after ticking all the boxes. 66 seats only in an area with a thousand applicable addresses by deanstreetlab (Fri 1st Oct 2021 4:34pm)

  • how is that possible? The street is very noisy and yet the flat is quiet? The windows shouldn't be able to shut out much noise by deanstreetlab (Sun 17th Oct 2021 11:38am)

  • Housing is surely more expensive in Edinburgh, unless you compare Hillhead vs Oxgang. by deanstreetlab (Fri 5th Nov 2021 11:38am)
  • the sizes are different mate, flats in glasgow tend to be materially larger in size by deanstreetlab (Fri 5th Nov 2021 2:13pm)
  • I am not sure about rents but buy prices are clearly materially higher in edinburgh which logically translates into higher rents. It is unarguable. by deanstreetlab (Fri 5th Nov 2021 2:15pm)
  • True, I am constantly looking at property websites and for the same price range in comparable locations, the quality of buildings and flat sizes are clearly better in Glasgow. Glasgow prices are rising too though. by deanstreetlab (Fri 5th Nov 2021 2:20pm)
  • you are comparing a rotten apple with a fresh one and saying that they are the same because you don't mind eating the rotten one? by deanstreetlab (Fri 5th Nov 2021 2:29pm)
  • it really helps that Glasgow got a subway but it really sucks that it [doesn't let dogs ride](https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-37587158) by deanstreetlab (Fri 5th Nov 2021 3:28pm)

  • Whatever. So is it right that Hillhead/Dowanhill got the highest concentration of mates like me? Toronto is geographically large, so I seldom wander into a lower-middle class district even if there is one close to where I live, but Glasgow areas seem to be more packed. I am only going to Glasgow because I want to send a little baby to the Glasgow High School for preschool. by deanstreetlab (Thu 11th Nov 2021 4:26pm)

  • > We've had loads of trouble with noise and antisocial behaviour, and we'd like to ensure we don't get someone similar or worse in the future. May I ask approximately which part of Glasgow are we talking about? And what kinds of *anti-social* behaviours? by deanstreetlab (Tue 18th Jan 2022 10:04am)
  • That sounds horrible. If you can afford to buy out someone, it seems you can as well afford to move to a more friendly part? by deanstreetlab (Tue 18th Jan 2022 12:21pm)
  • Where are you from? USSR? Flats are for sale by developers who buy lands from the local councils, either to be lived in, rented out, or left empty. That's the world. by deanstreetlab (Tue 18th Jan 2022 12:34pm)

  • I agree students play a role but am not very convinced on this creating price swings. Maybe to do with property listings. by deanstreetlab (Thu 10th Feb 2022 11:35am)
