  • There's a local fruit and veg shop on Queen Margaret Drive, just up the road from the Botanic Gardens. Probably a bit cheaper than Roots and Fruits, but slightly smaller selection. by fitbanovice (Sun 13th Jan 2019 7:13pm)
  • Thanks a lot for the offer mate but already went to a place on Dumbarton Road. £45 and took about an hour. Can't complain given how quick they were. by fitbanovice (Fri 14th Jun 2019 10:55am)
  • For a period of 2 weeks from the last day you were at work, it would be a good idea to spend as little time as possible in the same areas. So even if you can't fully live in the shed, the more time you could spend there the better. If you're in the house together try to stay in your own room with the door closed, and open windows to let fresh air circulate. When you've used the kitchen make sure you clean all surfaces and door handles etc you've touched with anti bacterial cleaner. Would be best if you could wear a mask as well. Use gloves if you have them too, but be aware that you often touch the outside of the gloves to put them on so they're not fully safe. If you're going to cough or sneeze try to move out of the shared area, or if not do it straight into a tissue then into the bin. You say you share kitchen stuff, but it would be a good idea for these 2 weeks to each use your own things as much as possible. So if you can both just stick to your own plate, cutlery, food etc to the extent you can then do that. If not, be extra thorough when washing. If you share a bathroom then again you want to be cleaning and wiping down everything you've touched each time you use it. In short, you can live together safely, but you basically just need to be on high alert of your own behaviour for the next 2 weeks. Act as if you have the virus, and so any time you touch something make sure you clean it, and try to spend the minimum amount of time possible breathing the same air. If you have been in a shared area for some time without wearing a mask then try to ventilate it as much as possible. Good luck. Will be tough on your mum if she can't leave the house so I hope you get to work from home and that allows you to be low risk enough to spend time with her. by fitbanovice (Sat 21st Mar 2020 7:15pm)
  • What was your undergrad in, if I might ask? by fitbanovice (Sat 21st Mar 2020 7:45pm)
  • Oh, interesting. So did you have experience of coding from elsewhere, or did you have to take any courses before you got accepted? by fitbanovice (Sat 21st Mar 2020 8:30pm)
  • Yes seems I'd best get phoning around. Totally forgot about Kelvin Pocket. That could be ideal as it's quite small and so can't get very busy (but the downside I suppose is it will be difficult to find availability). Thanks for the help! by fitbanovice (Thu 29th Oct 2020 10:34am)
  • Ok, sounds suitable. I'd better contact them soon. Thanks! by fitbanovice (Thu 29th Oct 2020 10:32am)
  • Thanks, will look them up. Seems like heavy rain on Saturday so will definitely need to find reasonable shelter. by fitbanovice (Thu 29th Oct 2020 10:35am)
  • Thanks for letting me know. I'll definitely consider the other places mentioned here first then. by fitbanovice (Thu 29th Oct 2020 12:02pm)
  • No, actually I'm going on Sunday but I put Saturday in the description by mistake - so thanks! I know some of them are bars so might be closed but gives me some other options to look into. by fitbanovice (Sat 31st Oct 2020 4:22pm)
  • haha wow, did not expect to lose 20 mins of my afternoon when browsing this post but that was thoroughly worth it by fitbanovice (Mon 9th Nov 2020 1:49pm)
  • Weird, I find it pretty good here but was staying in Perthshire over the summer and the water there tasted so strongly of chlorine. Real strong whiff came off it every time I filled up a glass. Obviously it's not the Highlands but I figured would be better than Glasgow given how rural it was (strathearn). Guess there's just variability everywhere depending on the council or infrastructure or whatever by fitbanovice (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 8:54pm)
  • Where is the new cycle lane on GWR out of curiosity? I frequently cycle along it from town up until around Gartnavel so guessing it's further up anniesland way? by fitbanovice (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 8:57pm)
  • Thanks mate. Was going to say hopefully they extend it but sounds like I'm better off on the road for now. Hope they get plenty feedback about all the problems with the current paths. by fitbanovice (Mon 23rd Nov 2020 10:01am)
  • Ok thanks by fitbanovice (Tue 13th Jul 2021 9:26am)

  • Thanks mate, will try that by fitbanovice (Tue 21st Jun 2022 4:23pm)
  • Ok thanks for letting me know, appreciate it. by fitbanovice (Tue 21st Jun 2022 4:22pm)
  • Yes, Shelter have said they will collect. The problem was they only take stuff with a fire safety label which I didn't think there was on the couch, but it turns out it had one after all. by fitbanovice (Fri 24th Jun 2022 6:21pm)
  • Thanks for this. Looks like Shelter are going to pick up for me (turns out it did have a fire label) but I'll keep this in mind if things fall through by fitbanovice (Fri 24th Jun 2022 6:21pm)
