Is that just due to COVID?

That makes sense. I'm a bit out of Glasgow as well, so I don't think I'd even be able to get in to pick something up. Just checking my options at the moment :)

It started as Marks And Spencers, then it became Marks and Sparks, now it's just Sparkies.

Tommie McGuckin at Beardy Beardy might be a good shout for you.

Barca in Princes square is good tapas. Maki and Ramen is a good wee noodle place. Paesano pizza is often queued out the door. The Auctioneer's does good pub grub.

Can you elaborate what alternative means to you? I can already see people recommending the Cathouse which is hard rock/metal/punk/emo and if that's your jam, I'd also suggest Rufus T Firefly's and Solid Rock if you're just looking for somewhere to drink and appreciate the tunes.

It was in place from the day they announced it. The difference here is that it only covered people who were currently in a tenancy from the landlord raising the prices, not raising the rent once the person moves out and they're trying to find new tenants.

House Martin on Bath Street are expensive but do a fantastic job. Alternatively, I got a similar list of places in a previous post https://www.reddit.com/r/glasgow/comments/f494rn/looking\_for\_a\_barber\_that\_specializes\_in\_beards/

Roystonhill. I've only been there once and it was for a two day course. On the first day making my way back home I saw someone get stabbed. Didn't go to the second day.

Raicon is great for anime related stuff, Acmecon is run by the same group but is focussed on being more of your traditional con - the last one had a wrestling ring set up and some matches as well as your cosplay contests and panels. Deecon is a fun one run by the Dundee Students Association. Glasgow Comic-con was a pretty straight forward one but a bit out of the road last year, being held away from a lot of where people might hang out in Glasgow. I believe there is going to be another Dundee Comic con and a wrestlecon this year as well?
