Interests:

  • I have many interests, and am genuinely interested in everything the city has to offer. Ultimately, I'm only there for 2 nights this time, so I'll have limited time. I've booked a hotel in the city, and won't have a car, so I'd like to spend a little time "being a torist" and a little time seeing what the city is really like (hidden gems). Obviously being an outsider I wouldn't really like to end up in areas that weren't safe for the unwary, if there are such places. by imvirtuallyinsane (Fri 13th Aug 2021 9:48pm)
  • Two days won't require a shipping trip on this occasion, but thanks! I'll bear it in mind for longer stays! by imvirtuallyinsane (Sat 14th Aug 2021 8:07am)
  • This is good stuff, thanks! Yes, you're correct that hidden gems is subjective, but I like to think of myself as inquisitive - having never been to the area am trying to get a sense of everything, not just only those places I'll visit on this occasion. Your suggestions are great! by imvirtuallyinsane (Sat 14th Aug 2021 8:06am)
  • Giad to know there's something in the city for everyone! Is there any overlap in the two things you mention? by imvirtuallyinsane (Sat 14th Aug 2021 8:14am)
  • Thanks! Doesn't look like they have tickets on the days I'm in the city, but I'll look it up next time I'm in! Great suggestion. by imvirtuallyinsane (Sat 14th Aug 2021 8:12am)
  • Thanks for the suggestions! Is there nothing to do at the east end? by imvirtuallyinsane (Sat 14th Aug 2021 8:16am)
  • Wonderful, thanks! Looks like the subway is a must on this visit! Going to skip the seaside trip this time around as I'd like to see the city. Ghost market as in it's dead? Thanks for the great suggestions! by imvirtuallyinsane (Sat 14th Aug 2021 8:20am)
  • Well, I rationalise it as "It's reddit", not necessarily indicative of how welcoming I'll find the people of Glasgow. I've heard that everyone is very welcoming in Glasgow, and I'm looking forward to my trip! The one I find confusing is the down votes for thanking the lidl comment... That's a genuinely useful comment stashed for the future. Yeah, sure, I could have found that and many of these places on Google maps (assuming the lidl is open already), but I'd rather get recommendations from people who know the area. So, it is what it is... I appreciate and thank all those people who have responded so far. It's helping me form a picture of the area. I'm looking forward to visiting. by imvirtuallyinsane (Sat 14th Aug 2021 8:06pm)
