  • Calling fellow Scots mutants and imbreds is pretty low. This isn’t going to solve anything. I do agree it’s a pain in the arse and would probably recommend that if anyone of any faith wishes to march it should be in Glasgow green or another park. by j4cks97 (Sat 6th Jul 2019 5:28pm)

  • So I did email the council regarding this and here is the response I got: I refer to your enquiry and would advise that the Council (DRS Planning and Building Standards) has been in discussion with the owners of Egyptian Halls for several years to try and find a viable solution for the building and, in the meantime, to encourage its ongoing maintenance. The building owners have recently appointed a professional team in an effort to bring forward development proposals for the building and DRS Planning and Building Standards have met with his representatives to discuss this process moving forward. As part of this process, they have commissioned a full structural survey of the building and we have just received a copy of this report which we will review in the coming weeks. Separately, we have written to Mr Souter requesting a scheme of repairs to the façade of the building which could facilitate the removal of the scaffold and await his formal response. In this regard, DRS Planning and Building Standards and Legal Services are considering our next steps should the building owners not co-operate to achieve this. I trust this provides an adequate response on the current situation, however, should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. by j4cks97 (Fri 13th Dec 2019 10:16am)

  • What an absolute disgrace. Yet another building in this city left to rot and to make it even worse it was designed by one of Scotland's best architects. The complete contempt shown to Glasgow compared to Edinburgh is a joke. by j4cks97 (Tue 14th Jan 2020 9:07am)
