  • There's absolutely racism against black people in Scotland. by jayjaysortagay (Sat 20th Apr 2019 10:03am)
  • There may not be systematic barriers against entry to programmes based on race but there are definitely systematic barriers against minorities in STEM and income inequality. by jayjaysortagay (Sat 20th Apr 2019 10:57am)
  • Glasgow Uni won't say 'yes we're going to let white people in but not black people' but that doesn't mean there is no systemic inequality. That doesn't account for how much more difficult it is for someone from an oppressed background to overcome the total sum of that oppression than someone who does not suffer. No one would argue that there is no classism at play so why is this different by jayjaysortagay (Sat 20th Apr 2019 1:33pm)
  • We're in the post-truth age. Statistics don't matter as much as any individual's perception of the issues. It's worrying. by jayjaysortagay (Sat 20th Apr 2019 1:31pm)
  • Because it is a big problem. Structural racism exists. by jayjaysortagay (Sat 20th Apr 2019 2:43pm)
  • Racism is pervasive throughout life. The modern society was built off slavery and so the effects of that are built into society. Its not all history, psychological and economic racism continue today pervasively. We are lucky to live in one of the worlds most progressive countries but we are not immune to racism. by jayjaysortagay (Sat 20th Apr 2019 2:43pm)

  • Genuinely cracking up reading the reviews. Apparently at the end of the video, Santa says 'bugger off, I need a pee' by jayjaysortagay (Fri 6th Dec 2019 12:03am)
  • I see this on the bus route to town. He's like Glasgow's version of the all-seeing optometrist billboard from The Great Gatsby. by jayjaysortagay (Wed 21st Oct 2020 7:28pm)
  • Tired of being stuck between the dichotomy of COVIDiots I know in real life being completely reckless and the superiority complex of people online who think the only reasonable precaution is to not leave the house for any reason until there's a vaccine. by jayjaysortagay (Thu 12th Nov 2020 1:51pm)
  • The point of keeping them open is not for most people that work full time hours, it's for vulnerable/elderly people who have little support at home. by jayjaysortagay (Thu 12th Nov 2020 7:21pm)
  • If you haven't phoned yet, G1 Dental that the commenter recommended as near Queen St isn't taking ppl, that's my dentist and my BF tried to register last week and got denied. by jayjaysortagay (Mon 16th Nov 2020 1:24pm)

  • Pizza Punks delivery vs Pizza Punks sit in is night and day. They just don't package the pizzas well by jayjaysortagay (Wed 18th Nov 2020 4:00pm)
  • People know whether they're getting a takeaway or not then choose where to go. It's better that they actually enjoy it. I don't feel under any obligation to support restaurants that serve shite. by jayjaysortagay (Wed 18th Nov 2020 10:39pm)
  • Warning people to buy from the right places doesn't harm the industry at all??? by jayjaysortagay (Wed 18th Nov 2020 10:45pm)
  • People in this thread are telling you what they've seen with their own eyes. Organised begging gangs are a well known fact in Glasgow, it's not just random assumptions or racism. by jayjaysortagay (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 9:33am)

  • Hate to have to ask this cause I'm not usually one to complain, but is there a way to report shops that are not enforcing staff wearing PPE? Had to pop into 3 shops today and none of the staff in any of them had PPE by jayjaysortagay (Tue 5th Jan 2021 5:19pm)
  • I visited family abroad when things were looking up at the end of summer and it was great. Airports were dead, flight was half full and mask compliance was excellent. Social distancing in queues was a bit iffy but better than get in shops or anything like that. by jayjaysortagay (Tue 5th Jan 2021 5:29pm)
  • Belvoir are great, all the staff are friendly and they help you efficiently. by jayjaysortagay (Tue 2nd Feb 2021 11:15pm)
