  • DELETED Im on universal credit, id be abandoning my flat to go live on a street. Some people live on the streets their whole life. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 10:39pm)
  • DELETED Sometimes I feel I'm being ignored here due to sectarianism. People sorta ignore me on purpose. They think I'm one religion or the other and then just blank me out. Im getting older and it's true I would still be lonely anywhere but I can't help but think I'm being unfairly blocked from doing normal stuff here. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 10:46pm)
  • DELETED I wouldn't be able to find anybody that wants to swap to northern Ireland. I be back to square one as far as accommodation goes. I could probably keep my universal credit if I use the Glasgow jobcentre as "care of address". The council won't even have a duty of care as id have voluntarily given up my flat. They could maybe get me into a night shelter if referred. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 10:45pm)
  • DELETED Walking or jogging club maybe but id still be coming from nothing but your right enough about that. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 10:59pm)
  • The thing was growing up for me, football team's etc where usually drawn across district tribal religious lines and I would not fit in. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 10:58pm)
  • DELETED I've looked at swaps but very few...if I managed to find somewhere to swap into id be throwing my sleeping back down on the floor and starting from scratch as I haven't the money like £1000 to get the removal van across the sea. Trades..im way too old. Studying I've done OU stuff but college costs money especially for me that has a levels and nearly one year of higher education under my belt already. I can get level 3 funding when I already have level 3 qualifications. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 10:55pm)
  • DELETED I can't get level 3 funding things like uni access courses because I already have a levels that are level 3. I already have half of level one higher education done with the open university. It's a bit of a catch 22...i need a job to save some money for the course I want to do which is a level 3 course,(not an access course) but something to make me more enjoyable but I'm having trouble to getting work to save £500 I need for the part time course. When I get a spare £500 saved in the next year or two then I would be interested in doing a part time college course in the evenings. Im brushimg up on my math skills as I had been doing a mathematics type open university course. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 11:12pm)
  • I can drive but no car. If I ever managed to get a job to save and maybe some people to join me then that would be great but I'm very far away from that sorta stuff. I can't even afford a college course to make me more employable. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 11:18pm)
  • DELETED The college course I was looking at would be like £500 and id need to save that. If I could apply for support when i happened to find somewhere to swap to then I definitely would. The most I can manage to save on universal credit is like £50-£100 every couple of months and I use that to fall back on if I need some things like clothes etc and I already live frugally enough with no nights out or drink etc. The thought of running away crosses my mind but it's the thought of the worst happening when I'm out there. It's a dangerous risk. I actually planned for becoming homeless and filled up a mountain walkers/ outdoors rucksack with some stuff I would need like warm clothes and toiletries but I sorta just put it off for the eventuality that universal credit might sanction me sometime for either missing an appointment time or leaving a job without good enough a reason. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 11:30pm)
  • DELETED Yeah, I have managed to have nearly that before. The cost of living grant I got in the summer. I broke my phone 📱 by accident and bought a second hand one that I'm using now. I had to buy some other things like a quarterly tv licence even though I have no tv. I bought some clothes and then before I knew it after some nice food..it was gone. I might get another cost of living grant next month but it's hard to hold onto sometimes when I get unforeseen costs and it's annoying that I will have to wait. Im just brushing up on my math skills with some cheap books I bought offline. Abebooks.com is good for cheap 2nd hand books. I've bought books to teach me basic math and then a bokm on how to teach myself algebra. Enough to keep me occupied but it's very boring being so alone and unemployed. by jgth14577 (Sat 3rd Sep 2022 11:47pm)
  • I seen an accountancy technicians course I could do at a local college. I done an open university mathematics course a few years ago but sorta fudged or cheated so I'm hoping to go over some math books I bought and then try the open university math courses again. I thought when I was younger that I only wanted a degree if it was going to be a valuable degree in stem course areas but I didn't have any science type A levels. I only had standard A levels that were not anything to do with science or math. I didn't go to not university and ended up in admin jobs or stuck unemployed. had got some office clerical work and then call centres. By the time I was 25 I was competing with people my age who had masters degrees in criminology etc. I sorta stuck with my choice not to go unless I done a strm course as I have more of an interest in stuff like that and didn't do any degree. Other people my age went and done business, humanities or law degrees then graduated to good jobs. I could have done those subjects aswell but I didn't think at the time it would be useful for ordinary jobs like office support or cafes etc and didn't go. I by jgth14577 (Sun 4th Sep 2022 12:18am)
