  • That fact there seals the whole thing for me. People always think I'm unreasonably prejudiced against Edinburgh, I'm not ridiculous with it, just of the opinion that compared to Glasgow it's kinda shit. Okay for a day trip, otherwise... Yet here you've got a black guy with dreads who skates living in Maryhill, saying Glasgow is safer. ðŸĪĢ👌 by lothpendragon (Wed 20th Mar 2019 5:59pm)
  • You'd have an interested audience for sure in this city. by lothpendragon (Mon 25th Mar 2019 1:29pm)
  • I think there was something about a difference in male/female preference as well. Men not wanting "diet" but "Max/Xtra/Zero" were okay. I might be misremembering. by lothpendragon (Wed 27th Mar 2019 10:51am)
  • Well, I've had the pleasure of not even noticing this yet, so I've got an awkward wtf moment in my near future haha by lothpendragon (Fri 5th Apr 2019 2:39pm)
  • Yeah, that wee second one does spoil it. I've never met anyone who think more than the standard orange cone looked good, but it always ends up with more than one 😧 by lothpendragon (Wed 24th Apr 2019 5:24pm)
  • I've never heard of that, but I have heard of the Style Mile thing, working on Buchanan St when they were launching that one. by lothpendragon (Thu 25th Apr 2019 4:13pm)

  • Well, if a street is gonna be blocked for a while, I think we'd all rather it was so some people could make a point like "tackle climate crisis" than whatever the fuck the Orange Order does. Good on them for doing it as well. They could have picked a few far more disruptive spots, and hey, they might do that next time. by lothpendragon (Mon 15th Jul 2019 1:04pm)

  • You provide evidence of a decade long decline before the SNP take control of the Council and say "aye well it's worse now, just go look" and blame it *all* on them? Councils everywhere are struggling, it's not just magically all an SNP problem when it's been building for more than a decade. No I'm not happy with the recent bin changes, I've also seen elsewhere in this thread that they're hiring some coordinators instead of putting more folks in the clenny, but let's criticise them for shit like that than everything since 2007. by lothpendragon (Sat 13th Mar 2021 6:46pm)

  • Slater Hogg are arseholes. They were a pain on the move in, a pain with getting repairs sorted, and the only point I was happy with them was they told the landlord we were entitled to an extra month on leaving when he decided to sell the place. With Core and they've been pretty sound, repairs get done when reported or near enough. I've rented direct private a couple of times and both were horror stories so I can't really vouch for skipping letting agents entirely, but I know my experiences there have been pretty unlucky. by lothpendragon (Thu 15th Apr 2021 11:54am)
  • I don't think I've had an inspection all through the pandemic. Normally every 3-6 months before that. by lothpendragon (Fri 16th Apr 2021 2:40am)
  • After a while we all forget what it was like on the outside. It becomes a distant memory, an old, lost hope. Our world has a ceiling now, and no exits. by lothpendragon (Sat 1st May 2021 4:59am)
  • Can we just pry it out of they're grubby hand so we can watch them die quicker? I don't want to see people out of work, I just want to see First fuck off and die. by lothpendragon (Mon 3rd May 2021 5:41pm)
  • I know I only joke about someone's accent if I like them. It's a pretty surface level thing that we're both going to be aware of. From me it's a friendly prod, and is usually done to get a laugh and maybe spark a wee verbal jab in response. Friends are people you can take the piss out of a bit, and be able to take the same back. An accent is normally much less of a sensitive subject than others, and is usually able to be segued into asking about where they're from, what's it like there, etc, and keeping the conversation going. You can usually tell if someone is just being a cunt though, and trust your gut on that one I say! by lothpendragon (Tue 11th May 2021 9:32am)
  • > "my grandad was working class" Hen, that's a wee bit too far up the tree for you to be bringing it up. 😂 by lothpendragon (Tue 11th May 2021 9:39am)
  • Gimme a sec and I'll link a "glesgae banter" clip and say how much of the Glasgow sub must be just like them... 😑 by lothpendragon (Sat 15th May 2021 10:39pm)
  • Whit? Don't attempt to encourage any change because the mutant apes will get angry? Fuck off. Write your MPs, MSPs, Councillors, fucking whoever. If it spurs change, do it. Don't sit back, and don't let "it'll only make it worse" somehow be a reason to not try and clean this behaviour up. by lothpendragon (Sun 16th May 2021 12:07pm)
  • Theres a new strain that has been confirmed to be hospitalising people who at least have had their first dose of the vaccine. Vulnerable just means at greater risk of serious (as in life threatening) effects, but everyone and anyone who gets Covid can have long term problems that might never go away called "long Covid". (Erectile dysfunction is now in that group of long term problems.) Most importantly: Viruses mutate quickly, and the more people who have it the greater the chance of a mutation, and more mutations mean a greater chance of a different enough bug that the vaccines don't work as well, or at all. So even non vulnerable people getting the virus relatively symptom free or with no serious effect can unknowingly put the vulnerable, and the rest of us, at risk. by lothpendragon (Sun 16th May 2021 12:21pm)
  • I googled it even though it's probably just a spelling mistake. bight /bʌɩt/ noun 1. a curve or recess in a coastline, river, or other geographical feature. 2. a loop of rope. So they go around putting dogs on leashes? The monsters! 😅 by lothpendragon (Tue 18th May 2021 9:42pm)
  • Plenty on the sub likely grew up in or around the red areas, but even there it was usually a street or two that had a rep for shit like OP posted. by lothpendragon (Tue 18th May 2021 9:46pm)
  • Other articles on Sky etc make mention of a petrol bomb, but the BBC are leaving that off til I guess they get proper confirmation. by lothpendragon (Wed 19th May 2021 12:27pm)
  • "feel free to share any interesting or high profile new stories" I'd say this fits both. It's not every day something like this happens. by lothpendragon (Wed 19th May 2021 5:49pm)
  • "spare any old firm chat"? That's a great rule for Glasgow, especially if it's unwritten. /s by lothpendragon (Wed 19th May 2021 6:09pm)
  • How's about raising awareness of the incident and letting people know that if they were or are in the area, there is a request to check your dashcams and CCTV for anyone fitting the description, and to contact the police or Crimestoppers? Some nutjob set fire to someone's cars and ultimately his house while he and his family were in it. I think we can all agree that what little extra awareness might be gained here is a good thing, no? Or maybe I got the flair wrong, maybe we can talk about how since it was a fire there's going to be student flats built? by lothpendragon (Wed 19th May 2021 6:34pm)
  • Because it's the Celtic boss. Let me know what's a better flair and I'll see if it lets me change it ffs. by lothpendragon (Wed 19th May 2021 6:37pm)
