Interests:

  • City Centre - The Vintage Scene on St Enoch's Square - A mix of reworked and pure vintage. Always full of really nice jumpers (think Nike/Champion and those American University sweaters) Mr Ben's at King's Court - A little bit of everything at various price ranges. I've seen some lovely vintage designer in there (although it is priced accordingly lol) West Vintage, also King's Court. Small-ish but has some good stuff. My partner gets a lot of shirts/jumpers from here. Round that area there's also some charity shops - I quite like the British Heart Foundation for a rummage Frida and Coco, High Street. I've yet to go here but I've heard it's good. Rip it Up, Barras. Small but with some really sick pieces. - Think the Barras has a couple other stalls/shops that sell some nice vintage but haven't been in an age (a really good day out though) West End West Vintage, Great Western Road. Quite big with a good selection of pieces. I get my Dickies from here. Reasonably priced, although some of it is overpriced for what it is. (note: they're always burning incense so if you have a sensitive nose be prepared) Duds, Great Western Road. A bit pricier but really well organised and laid out. Great selection of denim . Glasgow Vintage Co, Great Western Road. Big, well priced (most of the time), great selection of pieces from different eras, although i'd say firmly in the 70s/80s/early 90s. Retro, Otago Street. Nice stuff, can be overpriced (imo) but always worth a look. Byres Road has some great Charity shops. British Red Cross is a good one, as is what I think is a Cancer Research at the top near Oran Mor (can't actually remember). I got a new with tags Steve Madden puffer jacket worth £150 new for £20 from there. The Oxfam Books is always worth a browse. Ruthven Lane is also packed. Starry Starry Night (mostly 20s-60s stuff), G12 Vintage (streetwear/90s sort of stuff), Black Sheep Vintage. Dumbarton Road is packed with great charity shops, really worth a wander along and popping into all of them. South Side Glad Rags, Pollokshaws Road. Really well-priced, mix of vintage and newer stuff (like Monki/Next), always worth a look Cats Protection, Pollokshaws Road. Really lovely stuff, mostly occasion wear i'd say but good mix of other stuff too. The Salvation Army, Pollokshaws Road. Mix of everything, quite good. Heard some people say it's overpriced but I've never found that. Seamster Vintage, The Cooperage (off Pollokshaws Road). Really lovely shop. Good selection of 80s-2000s items. Also sell some really lovely vintage jewellery and it's all really well priced. There's also a bunch of other charity shops along Pollokshaws Road that are always worth a nosey in. Kinder Handl, Battlefield Road. Charity shop that sells a bit of everything. Can be a bit hit or miss when it comes to clothing but I've seen a Kanken backpack for £20 (£90 new). There's also sometimes vintage markets on, like those kilo sales. Usually at Ivory Blacks or the Briggait, and I think there's one that pops up at Glasgow uni's union from time to time. Worth a google to see if any are on by louisebelcherstan (Tue 16th Aug 2022 1:38pm)
