  • And during the day lol there’s currently construction work underway. 🥲 but yeah I think it could be noisy at night, although the nearby pubs all close at 12 anyway. by manicpixiedemongirl (Tue 12th Jul 2022 8:11am)
  • I don’t know, the streets are immaculate around that area and the pubs nearby close at 12. It’s not quite central station or royal exchange sq from my experience. I can’t say 100% though. by manicpixiedemongirl (Tue 12th Jul 2022 8:10am)
  • To be fair, most of the time I’m in that area is during the day. It’s not like I’ve never seen what it’s like at night; but passing through half cut vs actually living there are two different experiences I imagine. All I was saying was that it can’t be as bad as the scenes I’ve witnessed at central station/queen st/royal exchange. by manicpixiedemongirl (Tue 12th Jul 2022 8:17am)
  • That’s pretty much what I expected to hear. When I would stay with my friend (Oswald street) we’d be woken up frequently by people roaring. Doesn’t seem like enough to make it a bad place to live given how well maintained the grounds are, the nice architecture and amenities nearby. Hopefully I have this same opinion once I’ve moved. by manicpixiedemongirl (Tue 12th Jul 2022 8:35am)
  • Thank you! :) it’s nice to see some positive comments. I think it’s a lovely part of Glasgow. by manicpixiedemongirl (Tue 12th Jul 2022 11:04am)
  • Thank you for a more realistic comment. :) every day I walk through the area to go to work I think “I want to live here” and I certainly don’t feel that way about where I live right now (East Kilbride) - so it can only go up from here. by manicpixiedemongirl (Wed 13th Jul 2022 5:56pm)
  • That’s what I’m after. 🦋🦋🦋 Feeling like a caged animal in East Kilbride; I’m 29 and a child-free margarita lover so the city life def seems more suitable. by manicpixiedemongirl (Wed 13th Jul 2022 6:00pm)
  • If you want sexy strip club - Platinum Lace on Drury street. Pretty classy as far as these places go. Decent drink prices esp for the city centre. Stay clear of Diamond Dolls & Seventh Heaven - they tend to attract a less desirable crowd. by manicpixiedemongirl (Sat 30th Jul 2022 3:44pm)
  • Thank you for that reply! :) I moved in just over a week ago also in that area - totally agree already about the bin area being poorly kept. I don’t even know where to put my rubbish, I followed the stench of where the rest of it is and dumped a Tesco bag there because I had no idea what the protocol is! The building itself actually seems nice enough but surely there will be rats if the bin area isn’t sorted.. Also agree about the dog walking situ as I have a small dog, other than Glasgow green it’s hard to find an appropriate area to walk her. So far though I must say I’m much happier than I was in my old area. It’s a really great location as you say. by manicpixiedemongirl (Thu 4th Aug 2022 4:42pm)
  • The tax evasion thing & I was also once informed by a driver (not sure how true it is) that card payments take a while to clear, so since business is slow I assume they’d prefer the cash in hand vs waiting longer for payment by manicpixiedemongirl (Tue 29th Aug 2023 10:19am)
