  • Do you know if the area around Flemington street is also "not as bad" as the rest of it? Cant say the wikipedia page gives me hope for the area, but on the otherhand I grew up around hounslow and people called that dodgy but it was mostly about "dont go down the dogdy looking alleys at 11pm" which goes for most cities. Thanks by much_good (Thu 5th Nov 2020 7:54pm)
  • Thanks, sounds like it's a case of don't walk north then lol . I'll take into consideration. I know a lot of southerners who move up north like to pretend Glasgow is a super hard city for the most part. But I imagine it's not too dissimilar to London in how localised it is. by much_good (Thu 5th Nov 2020 8:08pm)
  • Honestly rn the lack of a good local pub is my biggest issue with the bit around flemington street by much_good (Thu 5th Nov 2020 8:54pm)
  • I mean't to be visiting for the purpose of viewing propertie as I'm moving to Glasgow ASAP, hopefully I'm fine altough I got an email inviting me to attend a "group viewing" which seemed ridiclious given the circumstances by much_good (Tue 17th Nov 2020 3:09pm)
  • Nope estate agents seem to refuse virtual tours and stuff still. Absolute joke I've spent 200 quid this month on train tickets viewing visiting by much_good (Tue 17th Nov 2020 10:46pm)
  • ooh I think I'm gonna pick Pollok. I'm also happy someone knows Griffin park, shame I won't ever get to see it again now its being demolished by much_good (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:51pm)
  • > I stayed in Chiswick and Shepherds Bush for a few years and frequented Griffin Park a few times. There was a Brentford Celtic Supporters club that I hung about with and drank in a boozer just down from Griffin Park as well. > > > > You'll enjoy Pollok, theres some massive rivalries in junior football and the games against the Ayrshire teams are always lively. I know the celtric pub by Griffin park, the one opposite the kebab, that's a great post match pub. Loved the atmosphere there for celtic games by much_good (Sat 28th Nov 2020 1:39pm)
  • followed for ghoddos, or did the timing just work out that way? I won't be missing their games when possible, but I want to use the opportunity to support a smaller club up here rather than just ignore Scottish football completley by much_good (Sat 28th Nov 2020 11:48pm)
  • so are most things in life, doesn't mean you have to come on a thread just to take the mickey by much_good (Sat 28th Nov 2020 11:46pm)
  • I hope for my own sake that camping etc outside of the council zone is allowed. It seems weird I can go into a giant Lidl but me spending 4 days in the Highlands by myself is a no no. I can understand why a bit, but still. Very 1st world problem. by much_good (Sun 6th Dec 2020 12:53pm)
  • Just moved out of my families house in London and into Glasgow. I'm very excited especially for when lockdown is over but for now I know 0 people in this entire country so it's going to be a rocky road for the next few months. On the plus side I'm enjoying decoding some of the thicker accents around my neighbours by much_good (Sun 6th Dec 2020 12:50pm)
  • Agreed. I very much understand why it's not allowed, just wish the conditions that made it so were not there so I could travel without risking people. Fuckin pandemic by much_good (Sun 6th Dec 2020 9:36pm)
  • Gonna hopefully buy a desk for this new flat today, I'm currently stuck doing my 10 hour shifts on my laptop on my sofa and its really not good for my back by much_good (Thu 10th Dec 2020 10:43am)
  • Yeah its a blessing, only issue is I've got a really weirdly shaped section of the room where to put it, so it's a bit tricky. Had to measure out my own floor plan simply because of how many weird corners are here by much_good (Thu 10th Dec 2020 11:02am)
  • fuck off im not doing grammar on my phone :P by much_good (Thu 10th Dec 2020 11:07am)
  • Climbing gyms are reopening which will make me happy, but I know it's going to be packed this weekend so it looks like I've got a fun weekend of doing fuck all apart from running and old video games. I picked a shite time to move here, but oh well by much_good (Fri 11th Dec 2020 11:27pm)
  • Hmm a picture of me before drinking my sixth pint at a pub, or me up some snow covered mountain with my axes looking dope af Yeah can't guess why I use that photo by much_good (Sat 26th Dec 2020 10:36am)
  • I'm renting and it came with so god knows if they'll sort me out a replacement if it is by much_good (Wed 13th Jan 2021 12:27pm)
  • yeah sounds like its bed bugs altough i cant see any of the signs apart from the bites hopefully a 60 degree wash and hoovering/wiping down matress/frame/floor should get rid of it otherwise im going to cut my legs off by much_good (Wed 13th Jan 2021 2:06pm)
  • Thanks boss, i saw someone saying elsewhere saying 60 but better to be safe right by much_good (Wed 13th Jan 2021 2:45pm)
  • ok not having a conversation with someone face to face for month is driving me bonkers a bit but not much I can do about that I do really miss grass roots football, sunday league/ 5aside type of things. If we're allowed to do non contact exercise with one other person should I just find a fellow tollcross person to do non contact football kick abouts with? haven't touched a football in months now, driving me nuts by much_good (Sun 31st Jan 2021 9:01pm)
  • might have been sarcastic by much_good (Tue 9th Mar 2021 6:53pm)
