  • I can't thank you enough for the details you have provided. This is the exact kind of answer I was looking for! It's a bummer to learn Even though I have heard of the cost of living being significantly lower in Glasgow when compared to London, as a student I'm failing to see that much of a difference. Because when I compare the student accommodation prices of a standard room at LSE/UCL to that of Strathclyde, there's not much of a gap. Would you perhaps be able to recommend me some economical alternatives for accomodations? I'd appreciate to learn more options other than University listed accomodations. Thanks again mate by nik_mufc (Thu 18th Jun 2020 3:43pm)
  • I understand. But what I meant is the total cost of attending UCL MSc Finance for example is 44k. 30k+ is just the fees. Imperial fees alone are 35k. Whereas with Strathclyde I'm looking at 25k total cost. So the difference is roughly 20k. It may not be substantial in the long run as you pointed out that I'd probably be earning 20k less, but there's a huge risk involved considering the current economic climate. But I get your point, it's just that it won't be viable for me to fetch out that amount of funds this year. by nik_mufc (Thu 18th Jun 2020 6:17pm)
  • Thanks a lot for the kind words! I'll soon be dropping a dm asking about the accommodation. by nik_mufc (Thu 18th Jun 2020 6:22pm)
  • Private banks ask for collaterals incase the amount is huge. Or there are private lenders such as Prodigy Finance that provide a collateral free loan, but higher interest rates. I understand it's much easier in the UK. by nik_mufc (Thu 18th Jun 2020 6:36pm)
  • Thank you for your appreciation. At the moment I'm the only one who is employed full time in my family, so these words of motivation means a lot. I hope to find good people like you during my time in Glasgow. by nik_mufc (Fri 19th Jun 2020 8:54am)
  • Thank you for your comment. I have heard similar responses as the lecturer you mentioned, from my peers and colleagues. I'm in a dilemma, maybe after hearing from LSE I can make a decision. by nik_mufc (Fri 19th Jun 2020 9:08am)
