  • I took a drive along the other day, it's just off great western road, more specifically alderman road, a few houses looked a little grubby but the cul de sac this house is in looks very clean and has very clean visually appealing gardens. by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 10:03am)

  • Don't get me wrong, I am by no means brushing people with a big brush. Infact, I can count on one hand the times I've had to face any racism in Glasgow regardless, I wouldn't want my kids to go through that. by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 10:23am)
  • How handy! Just about to add it to chrome! by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 10:36am)
  • 🤣 fortunately for me, I don't drink because I'm very much into fitness and compete almost every few weeks locally. So the bit at the back is actually super handy because I can have a squat rack back there! by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 10:39am)

  • We've got a viewing today so it'll be interesting to see it again. Last time I drove around it was later in the evening and it was very quite. by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 10:57am)
  • Totally with you. In my slightly more youthful days, I used to get the train a lot more than I do now. Myself and my then girlfriend (who was white) were going to SEA LIFE Loch Lomond and I had this sudden and gargantuous urge for a jobby. Ended up getting off the train in the middle of no one knows where, walked into a pub and all eyes were on me. Without a second thought for my safety, I darted into the toilet, which had no lock and did, probably one of the most colossal jobbies with my one of my hands on the door 🤣 Good times by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 10:54am)
  • I appreciate that. My mate used to live in Ballieston before he got married and moved to Inverness and has the most lovely neighbours. I often svisit his parents for a cup of tea 😁 by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 10:58am)
  • 🤣 we're in for a few properties so I don't mind, it is what it is by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 11:17am)
  • Nah, it doesn't need to be that end of town at all. We're open to most places as we've got family all at all ends of the city. Unfortunately there's not of suitable size at Scotstounhill but yes that'll be a good near to move to. by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 11:46am)
  • Aye me too! My wife used to work in an interior design shop and is an avid pinterester... she'll sort it right out. Nothing will ever go wrong 🙄🤣 by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 12:15pm)
  • I really like kirky, not too far from it now. i think East Kilbride and Cumbernauld puts us a bit out of the way. I like the idea of a new build and viewed a couple before lockdown but I can't help but feel that I'm stuck in a matchbox given the size or some of them. by nomken (Tue 7th Jul 2020 2:34pm)
  • Your cupboard https://youtu.be/y79K1PodX58 by nomken (Fri 10th Jul 2020 5:46pm)
  • Hope that's the case. Ideally, I'd like a 4 day home/ 1 day work split but I'll will give a little and settle for 3 day home, 2 day work split. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 7:48pm)
  • Miss the commute? 😱 that's mental! 🤣 I drive, then park, then walk 15mins to work. I hate walking to work in a rush, by the time toy get there you're either wet from the rain or a sweaty mess. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 7:47pm)
  • I'm with you on the ideas. I guess because I've still had a lot of interaction with people given where I live that it's been okay for me on the loneliness front. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 8:07pm)
  • I've been missing some of the exercise because there's an on site gym that I use but I've also got weights and bar at home which have had more use in the last few months than in the last two years. I like the idea of walking out and being done with the day without travelling and I reckon I'll enjoy it even more in winter. My set is okay, I have two screens and an office chair and I would 100% be happy to not travel to office unless I had to. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 8:10pm)
  • I'm 100% with you, my over lords are slightly more traditional leaning as well even though flexible working patterns are allowed. They've been super accommodating of work parents etc who are in my team. E.g. my manager logs on for a few hours in the morning, few hours in the afternoon and then a few hours at night. A lot of the meetings have gone and there is only one catch up meeting a day where you get to see everyone in your team on video call. I , too would happily spend my money on having a more permanent office space, including buying my own screen etc. I've already bought my chair. I edit video on the side so it'll come in handy anyways. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 8:48pm)
  • I am saving about £80 a month in parking and similar or slightly more in fuel! by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 8:50pm)
  • I work in one of the very tall offices on charing cross, we've got more than 1500 people on the premises at any on time and 10 lifts. As per social distance guidance, only one person can be in the lift at one time and only one person can be in the stairwell at one time - not sure how that'll get policed but I cant imagine it'll be a quick exit if there's fire. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:00pm)
  • Ejector seats by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:07pm)
  • I'm the opposite 🤣 I hate having to make chit chat when I'm busy and people being able to interrupt me whenever they wish. As things stand, I answer when I am able and it's much better. Obviously still meeting my deadlines. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:06pm)
  • True! I'm thankful for open plan offices 🤣 by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:10pm)
  • Exactly, my company is apparently "green" as well 🤣 by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:10pm)
  • I feel as if we let this ship sail, we'll get into a far worse position in regards to emissions than we are now given the social distancing required on public transport and the eventual increase services to accommodate. I suspect more people would prefer to take their private transport to work at this moment in time anyways. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:25pm)
  • Yes, it's understandable. I think the change that has taken place can really be used by us to bring in a fundamental shift in society from an emissions perspective. I don't even live far, bishopbriggs, but I drive because I pick up my mum from her work and drop her home but it still takes an hour in the morning. There's at least one person I know who travels from greenock, his commute is horrendous. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:34pm)
  • I've got a door on a room which when I shut helps me turns off and I got straight into my makeshift gym. I've been able to spend more time for family, more down time, and better MH than I ever have. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:30pm)
  • I'm with you as well, I can have Netflix on in the background at home and still get more done at home than I do at the office because there is so much drama going on at the office, specifically those who keyboard bash and complain about being too much when another person can easily help them out. I have clearly visible headphones on in the office, I work in SEO and involves a lot of time clicking around, browsing competitors sites, generally just making connections and thinking and people still come and speak to me 🙄 the reason I have headphones is because I don't want to listen to you and need thinking time 🤣 by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:45pm)
  • Mood by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 9:54pm)
  • I would genuinely move jobs of a similar level if they allowed me to work from home forever with only essential travel to this office by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 10:36pm)
  • So far, there have been zero down sides to working from home for myself. I'm putting aside 1k a month, I'm eating better, I'm delivering more, I'm sleeping better, I'm spending more time with family, I have more free time, I can do some more fitness things. Honestly, I can't fault it. I wish some of these our companies saw the light and gave us the option. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 10:58pm)
  • Given the unfold of events down south and further afield in Germany. I feel like a second wave is quite probable. So I hope I can take safe, comfy in my home space. I can't imagine offices wanting to take on the risk of someone contracting something while in office spaces - that'll be an insurance nightmare. Ha. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 11:08pm)
  • I hardly find any camaraderie in my office, it's purely business and terrible chat. In my line of work, you want to be comfy and I can't even wear a grandad shirt and black jeans to work on my side of the floor while the other side of the floor comes in wearing shorts. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 11:06pm)
  • I'm 100% with you, no music, no TVs and generally, no fun in my office. I've worked there for just over a year and can't remember the last thing I proper laughed at (apart from my own jokes, obviously) I said this in another comment, but I have Netflix in the background and I still get more work done. At the end of the day, I shut the door and walk to the sun room to lift weights for an hour and I'm done and dusted by 5.45pm. When I work from the office, I get home at 5.45 after finishing at 4.45pm So over that archaic way of operating. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 11:32pm)
  • Save money on fuel, parking and clothes! Ch-ching! 🤑🤑🤑 by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 11:37pm)
  • I'm guessing by your name that your took the codeclan course thingy? by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 11:59pm)
  • I work in SEO, so I literally go in the office to log on to look at a screen which I can access in my house. It's stupidity of the highest level. It baffles me. If companies like Twitter and Fujitsu can do it, then so can our companies. Similar to you in that there are companies that offer it so I am going to make the case for full remote, unless I am required face to face. Worst case scenario, I'd settle for a split. I'm in a tough spot because the company has been great to me, especially when my dad passed away last year. by nomken (Tue 14th Jul 2020 11:57pm)
  • I'm really surprised, our work has been super understanding. Couple of my managers have had their kids drop in on team calls and said hi to us. I can't imagine the situation in the office is vastly different, people are always hovering about and talking whenever I am on a call, which isn't often because most of the work I'm involved in is done on the website. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 12:11am)
  • Our office has just over 1500 people in it. Pushing to 1800 with visitors/externals. It has 10 lifts and 2 stairwells. Social distancing guidelines only allow one person in the lift at a time and only one person on the flight of stairs. The cafe is shut and there are people who can't bring in packed lunches because of the time they leave etc. There is no place to sit and have your lunch either. I just don't see how they're going to make it work. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 8:59am)
  • Uft. Where are you travelling in from?! by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:05am)
  • I work in a very large office. The company has a number of offices in Blantyre, Hamilton. The plan was to implement hot desking and rehouse employees from the other buildings into the main office in town. In my mind, this could work very well. Implement working from home with only necessary travel required to the office. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:05am)
  • I don't think you're starting an argument, I appreciate your input. I think there are always going to be down sides to both. I.e. less emissions vs less expenditure in shops. Better mental health (for the majority of people) would make savings for NHS. Lower sickness leave. I think the money that's saved from not travelling will get repurposed. E.g. I'm in a position to buy a house 5-6 months ahead of what I thought I would be. Again, I think a choice would be ideal. Work from office full time, if you like, have a split or WFH most of the time unless your presence is required at the office. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:17am)
  • Hello fellow bishopbriggs dawg! 🤣 Brutal. I'm bishopbriggs to town and traffic is horrible at that time in the morning. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:19am)
  • I think there will always be a need for offices. Even if it's purely for branding and presence purposes. You're always going to need a place to interview people, do team meet ups, induct people to company philosophy and all those things. In my opinion WFH it should be normal, UNLESS you WANT to go into the office or like working from the office. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:29am)
  • Same. My work has meetings about how we can make meetings shorter 😭🤦‍♂️ by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:33am)
  • Side note, I'll never make it to work with fever scans hahaha. I walk from the car park to the office, just over 1/2 mile, and I am burning up and sweaty by the time am at the door. Haha. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:31am)
  • Support growing economies 🤣 I genuinely love my job though, I absolutely love the intricacies of it and trying to make sense of competitor activity. I just hate travelling and wasting two hours a day. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:36am)
  • I guess in my line of work, whether I'm editing video or working on SEO, I need a fair bit of uninterrupted thinking time and I just don't get that in the office. The only thing I miss is some brainstorming but even that I can do on teams. I'd be open to going into the office for when I'm needed but be home based. by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 9:41am)
  • Couldn't agree with you more! by nomken (Wed 15th Jul 2020 10:57am)

  • Junkies are special where ever you go 😂 tbh I've never had any abuse apart from a couple of times in school and that was Cleveden secondary, in the west end, what gives eh? I realise there's bams everywhere but I don't want to write off a whole community just because... by nomken (Wed 29th Jul 2020 8:12pm)
  • What bit does the Monkland cemetery fall under? 🤔 by nomken (Wed 29th Jul 2020 8:58pm)
  • Ah class! Thanks for letting me know. Yes, the house we're looking at overlooks the cemetery and seemed super quite when we drove by. Just needed someone's input who was/is from there. As I said, I don't want to brush a whole community under the rug because someone said it was a wee bit dodgy. by nomken (Wed 29th Jul 2020 9:02pm)
  • I don't care for football 🤣 too much drama by nomken (Wed 29th Jul 2020 9:23pm)
  • I think that's the stark contrast between the classes is apparent most places unless you're in Newton Mearns or whitecraigs sort of area. Interesting, I guess for me, I'm super boring🤣 I don't go out much apart from eating, usually travel by car and home at a decent time. For fun, I go to the highlands, spend time BBQing, lifting weights etc so I'm not really looking for anything like gigs or that at my door step so to speak. by nomken (Wed 29th Jul 2020 9:28pm)

  • There's already two in Glasgow. Having worked in the industry (in marketing) i can tell you that there isn't that much margin in it. Climbers are notoriously stingy, they love spending money on kit but hate spending money on actually paying to climb 🤣 by nomken (Tue 4th Aug 2020 10:52am)
  • I can only think of GCC and TCA, what one did I miss? I agree, there's definitely a gap in the market but it's just not profitable enough in my opinion. by nomken (Tue 4th Aug 2020 10:57am)
  • I agree we don't have similar or even close to what mainland Europe has. I don't believe that's to do with facilities per say. While there are great climbs and general outdoors activities in Scotland, it doesn't lend itself very to those. As you probably already know ice factor in Kinlochleven is world renowned and holds many international competitions. I think the sport struggles because the weather is so unpredictable by nomken (Tue 4th Aug 2020 11:42am)
  • SP are working on batteries and have already got a 50MW one at Whitelee. However, given that there's electricity wastage when it's sent along power lines there could be a need for a battery storage substation which would use larger cables. On the flip side, SP already have a tonne of buildings which are less than half full in likes of Hamilton, Blantyre etc. by nomken (Tue 4th Aug 2020 1:49pm)
  • Strathclyde uni gym is absolutely class by nomken (Thu 20th Aug 2020 6:41pm)
  • Think it was about £24 or £27 a month, cheaper if you sign up for 6 months or a year if I remember correctly. Plenty of squat racks, swimming pool, sauna, other free weights and cardio equipment. by nomken (Thu 20th Aug 2020 9:28pm)
  • Absolutely is! Best thing about it is that you never see any bams. Worst thing about it is that you have to put up with the Glasgow Uni Accent 🤣 by nomken (Thu 20th Aug 2020 9:30pm)

  • The guy is an absolute star, he'll get you your data. I had a drive fail on me on the middle on a large project which had cost upwards of 6k in venue hire alone, add flights and all the extra bits and bobs like camera rigs etc, and it was closer to 10k. Anyways paid him and he got me my files, cheers Andy! by nomken (Sun 23rd Aug 2020 10:18pm)
  • We just got on the property market. We were thinking we might never make it but so glad we did. We offered on 3 properties, 2 of them went for 25k above market value and one of them went for 20k above market value. It was so disheartening. Finally, we got an offer accepted last week and ended up paying 15k over market value but happy with it as we're getting first home fund. by nomken (Sun 23rd Aug 2020 10:15pm)

  • Glasgow is a great city, I lived in a slight rougher area of Glasgow and never experienced what you're describing. The worst experience I had was our bins going missing and someone once slashed the neighbours tyres. Highly suggest you look at moving somewhere else. I now live opposite Strathclyde Park and it's great. Super quite, lovely neighbours and 15 mins drive to town. by nomken (Tue 18th May 2021 11:39am)

  • Bumped into Gerard Butler while he's was walking and having a cone ice cream at the crossing of Gordon St opposite pret a manger/Cath kidson, after he had been in 300. Lost my cool and shouted "Guys! there's Gerard Butler having an ice cream" He looked at me and I looked at him, we nodded in an approvingly gentleman's nod and smile and walked on our merry - safe to say he didnt look like he did in 300 but good guy nevertheless. I also bumped into Paul Hartley when he signed for Celtic - also lost my cool and shouted "there's Paul Hartley" and gave him a scare 🤣 by nomken (Thu 9th Sep 2021 10:58am)
  • Can recommend motherwell and Hamilton area, rent is relatively affordable compared to what you'll pay in the west end of Glasgow. Massive parks right in doorstep and good links to Glasgow. Remember to factor in council tax https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/113231702 0.5 miles from the train station by nomken (Thu 9th Sep 2021 11:37am)
  • Don't associate with either of the city clubs 🤣 A lot of the towns nearby have great links to Glasgow such as motherwell/Hamilton etc and very close to large parks. You'll do fine here, just need to have the same wits about you as when you're in Manchester 👍🏽 by nomken (Sat 2nd Oct 2021 10:36am)
  • I'd disagree that North Lanarkshire is a rubbish place to live. Motherwell has really nice bits just over the road, Hamilton is really nice too. My neighbour even took the bins out for us when we were on holiday. by nomken (Sat 16th Oct 2021 6:49pm)
  • I grew up in a 19th floor flat in Sighthill - and I'm a first generation immigrant. It was grim. I didnt stab anyone then or now. I grew up, went to uni, got a job at 18, finished uni 2013 and have worked ever since. Half of the world lives in poverty or with low education levels, we can't blame either of those for people stabbing each other - It's too easy to do that. Not sure if anyone remembers the lotto winner who won a massive amount got out of poverty and blew it all. There is something fundamentally wrong in the way people value life. It's not poverty, it's the up bringing and by nomken (Thu 21st Oct 2021 10:47pm)
  • I was just sharing my thoughts, not saying that you were implying any of the above. It was Sighthill Glasgow - it was a mad place and I saw young teams fighting on the overpass bridge multiple times a week. Never understood why. I agree poorer areas have higher crime rates. What I was saying is that it's not the be all end all. I wouldn't necessarily say anecdotal evidence either. I don't know if you remember but a large majority of asylum seekers and immigrants were moved into Sighthill and red road flats. A lot of us asylum seekers and immigrants went to the same school and got the same bus in the morning, often having to travel an hour by bus to the other side of town. Anyways, we got to know each other and 99% of us made it out, a lot of us are doctors, engineers, dentists, scientists, lawyers/ in professional jobs. There were some who were from war torn countries in Africa with one parent, others from Middle East who had fled religious persecution. We grew up in poverty, alot of us who came before me weren't allowed to attend higher education until a law changed. But we didn't go about stabbing people. I'm just saying that it's easy to blame poverty or the government and deflect the issues that start at home. Just my two cents 🙂 by nomken (Fri 22nd Oct 2021 11:03am)
  • Similarly, the council won't fine cyclists who are riding on pavements, without lights or helmets. Removing/ limiting cars would make it easier for some pedestrians, not all. For people who have families, kids, maybe someone who's ill but not "disabled" it would be a nightmare. Cars generate some of the highest amount of revenue in the city and without them you can expect less money for your council services. by nomken (Sat 6th Nov 2021 10:56am)
  • Sheep usually just follow other sheep and go baaahhh 🤷🏾‍♂️🤣 by nomken (Sun 7th Nov 2021 9:01am)
  • I do cycle but that's irrelevant because you don't have to be actively involved in something to recognise that it's wrong. There's countless numbers of cyclists going up one way roads on any given day in Glasgow. Without lights, without reflectives and jumping lights. If you want to use the road, obey the laws. What sort of argument is, "I don't feel safe on the road so I'm going to cycle on the pavement" in essence what you're is complaining about being feeling unsafe on the road and making it unsafe for those who are walking. I'll just drive down pedestrianised zone because I don't feel safe on the road because of the lorries 🤣 Yea, in Netherlands. Not Scotland. Yea, mirror signal maneuver is the standard for driving as that's what is on the test - if you don't, you can fail your test. Shall we introduce tests for bikes too? Yes bikes should have lights and reflectives. They're literally keeping you safe and visible. The reason cyclists don't is because unless they're caught on car cam, they know they can spout any rubbish they want and will get away with it if they get in an accident and they don't have a burden of insurance. By the sounds of it, you don't have little kids you need to ferry about. By the time you've got a pram, clothes/ food/ toys then you've almost got a boot full. Then add your shopping and groceries. Don't forget the junkies and bams who like smoke and cause havoc on public transport. Is that somewhere I want my kids to be? No thanks. Oh don't forget to add the instances of racism to the mix on public transport. Again, all your idealist values are nice on reddit but are in actual fact more leaky than a sieve. by nomken (Sun 7th Nov 2021 9:00am)
  • Nah, I never said it's fine as it is. Also never said public transport is for poor people but having come over as an immigrant and facing to put up with racist abuse on public transport, I'll easily choose my own car. Two tonne death machines are not coming at me and hurling racist abuse. NEDS, junkies and bams have, several times. I think rather than thinking what I'm saying, you should read what I'm saying 🙂 Thanks for the history lesson, I am well aware of it. Yet again, just because it worked there doesn't mean it'll work here. We have different weather systems and a different way of life. It seems to me like you're trying to say when a person is okay to use a car and when they aren't. You know nothing of anyone's situation or what they have on. That one person in a range rover might have lots of other things to do. I often drive alone, but I pick up my daughter, my wife and my mum. When I didn't have a wife and daughter my dad was seriously ill and I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible rather than waiting on buses. There are endless reasons why people need their cars. Improve cycle lanes, improve public transport but don't do it at the detriment of those who choose to use their cars. Have a nice one by nomken (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:19pm)
  • Hi how's it going? 32 m, I'm from a town just outside Glasgow called motherwell. We've got a massive park and falls of clyde aren't far away if you're looking for something to do. I play badminton once a week in Glasgow, happy to get you involved. Cheers by nomken (Wed 10th Nov 2021 11:49pm)
  • I agree that it leads to an increase in footfall, but whether that increases the right amount of footfall, as in the ones who will spend money remains to be seen. Oslo also has better public transport, which is something that leaves a lot to be desired in Glasgow. Hopefully, the town gets busier and stays bustling. Nothing better than walking down buchanan street on a sunny afternoon. by nomken (Fri 12th Nov 2021 3:09pm)
  • I think the difference is that most of those countries had better, more reliable transport. We don't by nomken (Fri 12th Nov 2021 4:12pm)
  • Depends on who's going to the area because there are different needs for people but that's probably an easier one to pedestrianise. Although I was in town to pick up food at Pasha and couldn't get close because the street next to Queen Street is shut 🤣 by nomken (Fri 12th Nov 2021 4:38pm)
  • There's a very large energy company based in Glasgow who are adamant that employees must return to the office for at least 3 days a week for "collaboration purposes". They've regularly petition the government for regulatory change to push EVs etc. Despite being big into the drive to reduce emissions. They simply refuse to evolve. However, they still refuse to allow employees work WFH permanently, or even less often in the office. IMO, that'll make the most amount carbon savings in their employees lives and operation level. Their employees worked from home during the whole pandemic. Green company 🤷🏾‍♂️ by nomken (Sun 21st Nov 2021 8:34pm)

  • Not to worry, everyone commuting in on their bicycles and excellent public transport will keep the footfall high for the rest of the areas in town... by nomken (Wed 19th Jan 2022 12:58pm)

  • Lots of nice areas surrounding glasgow and have options available at relatively good prices compared to glasgow West end and southside. Have a look at motherwell, hamilton, Uddingston (bothwell too but tends to be a little more expensive), east Kilbride, Cambuslang, Stepps, chryston. by nomken (Sat 12th Mar 2022 12:48pm)

  • Ultimate Frisbee people are usually looking for people. Also a friend of mine used to play quiddich... he tried to get a bunch or us to join but I couldn't take it with a straight face. But if you're into that go for it! by nomken (Fri 25th Mar 2022 9:59pm)
  • Ended up buying a house after lockdown 1.0 in 2020. Bought opposite Strathclyde Park in motherwell. 5 bed, 3 toilets, garage, front and back garden etc. Same price (potentially less) than a flat in West end. No regrets, 15 min into town, surrounded by 2 parks 😀 by nomken (Sat 26th Mar 2022 1:03pm)

  • You're going hard pressed to find companies which aren't paying google to be at the top for related queries. The 1st page used to have 1 ad but there's 3 maybe even 4 there now, which means organic positions on page 1 are less than they were before. So it's harder to "earn" your way there. Google is business after all and paid advertising generates huge amounts of money for them. by nomken (Sun 27th Mar 2022 11:35pm)
  • Try a crossfit gym, they've rebranded yoga as ROMWod (range of motion workout of the day) and it's slightly more specific to functional fitness (if you're into it) usually has a even split of men to women but bias towards none by nomken (Mon 28th Mar 2022 12:47pm)

  • Not southside but Hilton grosvenor in West end had a great deal on when I got married pre- covid. 100 guests dinner and reception- £3470 plus room charge of £600. To put that into context, some of the other places we checked were £5-7k for 50-80 guests. by nomken (Tue 19th Apr 2022 10:54pm)
  • Ours was also southside but this was a no brainer. Easy access to underground, pictures at botanics, parking free after 6 outside the hotel. We ended up with 150 people at night and it was still under 5k. Top notch food and service, will 100% get married there again 🤣 Bought myself a kilt with left over 6k and put the rest towards a deposit. by nomken (Tue 19th Apr 2022 11:18pm)

  • I've been saying this for a while and constantly get down voted. The best solution I've been offered in reddit it to tear down the m8, introduce more cycle lanes and walking space. Apparently then, everything will magically be fine. by nomken (Thu 19th May 2022 11:59am)

A friend of mine is 3 days at home, 1 in the office and 3 day weekend as they're part of the 4 day work week trial. He loves it as well. by nomken (Thu 18th Aug 2022 9:52am)
