  • The different Facebook groups are parts of the city are a good place to look. Govanhill go! in particular, from my own experience. by philomancy (Sat 7th Mar 2020 3:34pm)
  • Hi there, not sure if it's any good but I've got an old iMac (early 2000s) desktop, all-in-one thing. It doesn't have WiFi so you'll need to use ethernet but otherwise it works a treat. by philomancy (Sat 7th Mar 2020 3:38pm)
  • Govanhill is the most interesting part of glasgow at the moment as far as events, coffee and food goes. Couldn't ask for a better place to live, even if it's still a little rough. by philomancy (Sat 7th Mar 2020 3:40pm)
  • Yeah it's got a couple USB ports. You'd have to come get it though. by philomancy (Sat 7th Mar 2020 4:14pm)

  • It happens, meeting friends as an adult is so tough. What kinda things do you enjoy? Maybe folks here can point you in the right direction by philomancy (Thu 2nd Jun 2022 9:14pm)
  • My family tried to warn me off living here. Said it was going to be rough, I liked it feeling a little rough around the edges. Govanhill sounds like London now 🙃 by philomancy (Sun 3rd Jul 2022 1:23pm)
  • It showed up in the times/telegraph ‘most desirable place to live’ and 6 months later the whole of govanhill sounded like the cast of made in Chelsea by philomancy (Sun 3rd Jul 2022 2:30pm)
  • I didnt come here with a fortune of money behind me, I just wanted to start a new life. The reasons the rent get driven up is people with London fortunes behind them, not a bloody teacher trying to get by. by philomancy (Sun 3rd Jul 2022 7:17pm)
  • Awesome list but you’re way off for coffee. No question the best coffee in Glasgow is Perch and Rest on Otavo street. It’s really expensive (£5+ for a pour over) but well work it. They’re the only cafe that consistently gets coffee from the top roasters in Europe. Runners up are laboratorio in the city centre, if all started here in the southside and Kaf in partick by philomancy (Fri 29th Jul 2022 6:08am)
  • Oh yeah it’s all hipster shite, unfortunately it’s hipster shite that I love. by philomancy (Fri 29th Jul 2022 8:27am)

  • Ok so you'll have no luck with Beamish, but you can get cans of Murphys in B&M... weirdly. by philomancy (Wed 7th Sep 2022 10:55am)
