  • When I go on google maps or the first website, it says there is no 512 to get me from Milngavie to Carbeth - is anyone else having this problem? by priomh_shona (Thu 25th Apr 2019 11:58am)
  • Thank you!! by priomh_shona (Sat 22nd Jun 2019 12:27am)

  • it's a steep hill right behind the fence - not as flat as it looks on the map! but you're probably right, I could hop it somewhere... by priomh_shona (Mon 5th Oct 2020 12:06pm)
  • ah no I got the roads wrong - it's between Drumry Rd East and Abbotshall, not Abbotshall and Halgreen by priomh_shona (Mon 5th Oct 2020 4:52pm)
  • As per the first link here, its to the right of the wall that the gate is by. Or at least by my interpretation of old maps. Thanks so much for your ideas! My question was more "is there a way to officially access the ruins", but honestly now you've pointed these bits out to me climbing seems more fun... by priomh_shona (Mon 5th Oct 2020 5:10pm)
  • Think I will! Bit easier than getting onto some of the abandoned train platforms in the West end at the moment... by priomh_shona (Mon 5th Oct 2020 5:25pm)
  • ooh thank you that sounds interesting! Perhaps my next explore. The Peel was referenced in an old book of walks I have and one website talking about it getting torn down seemed to think there were still ruins visible - I suspect it's a bit out of date... by priomh_shona (Sun 11th Oct 2020 10:50am)
  • I asked for a publically owned bus service but what are the chances of them ditching first really... by priomh_shona (Fri 30th Oct 2020 10:21pm)
  • oh rip that's a bit shit :/ by priomh_shona (Fri 13th Nov 2020 1:38pm)
  • it was a timberyard in the 1950s! by priomh_shona (Fri 13th Nov 2020 1:38pm)
  • I'm actually really new to urbex - have followed some old train lines but that's about it - so thanks for the suggestion! Would you have any other tips? by priomh_shona (Fri 13th Nov 2020 3:26pm)
  • They don't have exactly what I'm looking for but I think I'll be heading there anyway! They have a great selection. Thanks by priomh_shona (Wed 9th Dec 2020 1:18pm)
  • they bakeries do this wonderfully sweet, light dough for them that I've never been able to replicate with any recipe! that being said, it's pretty easy to make your own ones and have them still be pretty darn tasty... by priomh_shona (Wed 9th Dec 2020 3:37pm)
  • I'm instantly wanting to try their almond croissants, their stollen, and their rye breads - good germanic classics! by priomh_shona (Wed 9th Dec 2020 7:36pm)
  • Good luck! by priomh_shona (Tue 16th Nov 2021 11:56pm)

  • Hi! I attend Merody Campbells classes in the West End - she's great, has a range of ages and levels, ans isn't too expensive. Very chill. There's a "beginners" class tonight 6-7:30pm at Notre Dame High school, and I'd be happy to add you to the group chat if you'd like! by priomh_shona (Wed 17th Nov 2021 1:49pm)
