They’re carved into stones which are part of the wall at whiteinch, definitely carved stone rather than natural because they’re almost perfect rectangles.

I don’t think so, just because they aren’t in a place that’s immediately obvious, even with a changing landscape. In terms of age I know they’re at least 20 years old because they’ve been there my whole life.
