  • So glad I found this. Been trying to get a parking permit or a few weeks now and can't get through to anyone on the phoneline as it just hangs up after going through the options. Firstly, had to re-register my car to Glasgow. Put in multiple applications as they didn't accept my tenancy lease as proof of residence and wanted a gas/utility letter or council tax letter, however, haven't received anything and had no acknowledgement of our student council tax exemption which we submitted the application for 4 weeks ago. Went to pay in-person for the permit (one of the recommended options on the application form) and the offices were closed (City Chambers/45 John Street) where I also met a disgruntled gent who couldn't get a hold of anyone for his property completion certificates in order to sell his flat. Really confused how to proceed, primarily in terms of paying for this parking permit which I need for work and commuting back and forth between home and Glasgow. by scottishpilot (Thu 1st Oct 2020 3:14pm)
  • Switch over to Bulb or Octopus, which are basically challengers to the likes of Scottish Power and the big 6. We’re with Bulb and so far they’ve been great, for a freezing cold flat with 4 people, our gas and electricity bills are around £90 per month. We signed up with a referral code and got free £50 credit to put towards our first bill. Also there isn’t any contract with Bulb, nor an exit fee if you decide it’s not for you. I think they may also pay up to certain amount of any exit fee that Scottish Power might impose? So I’d recommend Bulb, and if you want to switch and get that free £50 credit feel free to use our referral link: https://www.bulb.me/jamesm5379 by scottishpilot (Tue 24th Nov 2020 4:54pm)
  • That’s a shame to hear, have you been submitting your own readings a few days before the bill... I’ve heard that ensures you get billed appropriately? For our billing experience with Bulb, it’s been good so far. I even went as far as calculating myself how much we thought we’d get charged at the end of the month by using their [tariff rate x amount of gas/elec used x 28 days] + [standing charge per day * 28 days] and we got billed far less than what I had calculated which was a pleasant surprise. by scottishpilot (Tue 24th Nov 2020 7:34pm)
  • Don’t think so, hovered above Hillhead with a searchlight for like 5-10 minutes before continuing towards city centre direction by scottishpilot (Wed 25th Nov 2020 8:36pm)
