  • Thank you!!:) by springful (Wed 30th Oct 2019 9:52am)
  • I already explained the situation to them a little while ago but was told that I am not entitled to any emergency funding as it's for UK students only and I hold an EU citizenship. Thanks for the suggestion though! by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 8:34pm)
  • Haha meant to write December sorry! I contacted the uni weeks ago and they already told me that I am not eligible for any type emergency funding due to my EU citizenship unfortunately. The problem with the stores and post offices is that hundreds of people are applying for the same positions because they've lost work due to the pandemic. I will keep applying though:) Thank you for your suggestions! by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 8:31pm)
  • I did and was told that EU students are not entitled to any sort of emergency funding/loans. Thanks though:) by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 8:35pm)
  • Just requested to join, thank you:) by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 9:32pm)
  • Yeah I thought so too. I looked into it and the gov uk announcements don't specifically say that EU students are exempt from the funding but it could be the case. I left Estonia a while ago and don't have ties to the country anymore, so I never thought about that being a possibility. But I will check for sure. And check with the Citizens Advice Bureau and Shelter. Yeah, but haven't had any luck with translation yet. Takes a while to hear back from employers, if they get back to you at all. Thanks for the suggestions again! I will keep trying by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 9:31pm)
  • You're right, I will let my landlord know what's going on. It's just kind of scary requesting to pay him later considering I might not even have a job by next month either. Thank you for the suggestion:) by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 9:36pm)
  • It was Funding that I wrote to and this is the response someone gave me: "Unfortunately we don’t have any funding available for EU students to apply to. If there is any funds that become available for EU students, we will advertise this on our web pages and social media sites." I will send them an email right away. by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 9:53pm)
  • That's the fund that I applied for and got that rejection from -- "extra hardship funding". Where it says "UK students can apply" I guess they mean UK citizens, not students studying and living in the UK :/ by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:04pm)
  • I asked them if there's any other funding at the end of the email but I guess there's really nothing. by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:04pm)
  • I will email them now. I can PM you with their response if you're interested? by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:31pm)
  • It was definitely the general funding department. I assume they would have referred me to a different email address if I wasn't contacting the right people. by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:30pm)
  • Haha thank you so much for the reassurance :) I'm definitely looking forward to graduating. And glad you're enjoying the stability now!:) by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:36pm)
  • I don't drive unfortunately, I was working towards my license but didn't get to take my practical before the first lockdown. Thank you though! by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:52pm)
  • Thanks:) by springful (Fri 27th Nov 2020 11:06pm)

  • Clydebank and Knightswood are pretty far from my place in Govanhill and I don't have enough money left to afford transport there right now unfortunately. I got a lead from someone on here to a warehouse job and will get in touch with them on Monday, hopefully something works out. Thank you so much though!:) by springful (Sat 28th Nov 2020 8:49pm)
  • Thank you! I will check them out by springful (Sat 28th Nov 2020 9:04pm)
  • Thank you so much:) I was surprised about the amount of lovely people that messaged me privately and commented just to leave a suggestion, wish me good luck and even offer help. Really made my day:) by springful (Sat 28th Nov 2020 9:14pm)
