  • >"This presents a market-capture moment for the city following significant success over the last ten months with The Flash, Indiana Jones and Batman all filming in the city. While these projects only filmed limited scenes, the experience of Warner Bros. on The Flash and Batman has been so positive that they have now brought a new project to the city, which would see the entire film produced in Glasgow." > > > >Susan Aitken's report states that the recent movies filmed in Glasgow were London-based projects that carried out on-street filming in the city - and that by basing the whole production in Glasgow it would help secure more jobs, investment and future filming opportunities for the area." According to the official listing in Hollywood directory \*Production Weekly (\*link below), the movie will start filming in November and will also do some filming in New York City. Presumably second-unit photography for some of the city's exteriors and the CGI team. • Great for local businesses, actors, film workers, carpenters, builders, and engineers, too. Of course, a big movie like Indiana Jones filming for a few weeks in Glasgow brings in some local money. However, because most of it is shot at studios in England, they just bring most of the English staff up to Scotland and only hire about 10-20% locally. But since this movie is going to be shot almost entirely on location and at studios in Glasgow, the crew for this will be almost 100% Scottish, and all the hundreds of production staff, actors, and executives will be staying (and spending their money) in Glasgow for at least half a year or more. by timeandtimeagain2000 (Mon 27th Sep 2021 12:03pm)
  • In the last couple of years, a few new temporary studios have been built in Glasgow. Mostly in places like old factories, aircraft hangars, and in the case of one upcoming BBC Drama, inside Kelvin Hall itself. Hopefully this will finally convince either the Scottish government or a local business to fund the construction of a permanent one. by timeandtimeagain2000 (Mon 27th Sep 2021 12:43pm)
