  • Get the train to Balmaha on the shore of Loch Lomond? Or I agree Pollok Park, just get away from the road, there’s so much space that feels super rural, cross the river (near the house) and follow the walk through the fields. by whered_yougo (Sat 3rd Jul 2021 12:42pm)
  • Yes, sorry! I moved away from Glasgow a couple of years ago and got them mixed up. by whered_yougo (Sat 3rd Jul 2021 1:40pm)
  • There’s a place like this near where I live in Yorkshire. Indian takeout place, open years - never ever ever seen a customer inside. Survived 2 years of pandemic no worries though! by whered_yougo (Sat 13th Nov 2021 2:25pm)
  • I’m so glad you’re doing well now! Say hi to your cats for me. by whered_yougo (Thu 18th Nov 2021 8:12pm)
  • I second Mothertucker, check their FB page or Insta! by whered_yougo (Tue 15th Feb 2022 5:30pm)
  • I love walking round the Botanics, then walking along the river to the Kelvingrove! Nice breakfast at Papercup first if possible, and maybe a donut at Tantrum at the end! Definitely go to Luss or somewhere too. by whered_yougo (Mon 28th Feb 2022 8:55pm)
  • That’s really helpful, thank you. Could be a pain if we have to collect it 3 days before, was planning to drive up the day before. I’ll see what they say when they get in touch I guess! by whered_yougo (Sun 24th Jul 2022 12:02pm)
  • What a beautiful place to get married!! We went there once. Thank you that’s really helpful! by whered_yougo (Sun 24th Jul 2022 1:52pm)
  • Thank you! by whered_yougo (Sun 24th Jul 2022 7:23pm)
  • Second this, went here specially because my now-husband loves trains and wanted to go over the bridge! by whered_yougo (Mon 26th Sep 2022 9:37pm)
  • I lived in Glasgow for two years and brought my dog with us (just from within the UK) and it was super hard finding a place that would allow him, but we did eventually, with a private landlord on Gumtree. by whered_yougo (Tue 8th Nov 2022 8:14pm)
  • Just keep at it, I’m crossing my fingers for you!! by whered_yougo (Tue 8th Nov 2022 9:27pm)
  • The West End / Byres Road has lots of charity shops, some cool vintage/junky shops (Ruthven Arcade) and plenty of cheap and nice places to eat as it’s quite a studenty area. I’d check out University Cafe if you can! Local legend for cheap grub. by whered_yougo (Mon 21st Nov 2022 8:51pm)
  • Kelvingrove Museum is really good fun, lovely park too if the weather is nice. Walk up Byres Rd and do some window shopping, lots of nice cafes and stuff to see up there. Go by the university, you can get into the quads in the middle and look at the cloisters. Botanic Gardens are really nice too, nice outdoor area if the weather is good enough but mostly indoors. You can do a nice wee loop from there down onto the river and walk back almost to Finneston from the Botanics. I also like the necropolis in the east of town if you’re into graveyards and stuff. Next to the Cathedral which is open some days, you’d have to check. Glasgow City Chambers do free tours every week day at (I think) 2.30pm, well worth going, it’s so beautiful inside. Depends what you’re into for food I guess but there’s a lot of really nice places to eat for sure. by whered_yougo (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 8:38pm)
  • Couldn’t think of any other museums haha, thank you! Been a couple years since I lived in Glasgow. by whered_yougo (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 8:54pm)
  • Just some ideas freely suggested, I must’ve missed where you planned a full and thrilling 10 day itinerary for this person. by whered_yougo (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 9:12pm)
  • Could try National Express too, coaches are always cheap but obviously take a while longer. by whered_yougo (Mon 28th Nov 2022 4:25pm)
  • This place is amazing but I went once (on an organised event thing) and there was a lot of fences and stuff so you’d have to be sneaky. by whered_yougo (Fri 6th Jan 2023 10:40pm)
  • British Heart Foundation used to come collect some furniture items - I wouldn’t dump a wardrobe, get it on FB marketplace, buyer collects, someone will take it! by whered_yougo (Thu 12th Jan 2023 1:47pm)
  • We got married in September and used Rhiannon Neale, she was really nice and offers packages of various prices. by whered_yougo (Sat 14th Jan 2023 4:19pm)
  • [forgot to link her website](https://rhiannoneale.com/) by whered_yougo (Sun 5th Feb 2023 6:16pm)
  • Well you don’t have to have a photographer if you don’t want! I think Instaxes or something is a super cute idea. I got married last year and we used Rhiannon Neale, she was really nice, laid back, and did some smaller packages - we did get some pics done after but I’m sure she could do even less for you if you just wanted some quick group photos to mark the occasion. by whered_yougo (Sun 5th Feb 2023 6:16pm)
  • Single End do loads of vegan stuff and it’s very close to the CCA! by whered_yougo (Fri 21st Apr 2023 9:02pm)
  • Broken Clock Cafe sells some nice fancy patisserie. by whered_yougo (Wed 10th May 2023 4:50pm)
  • Organised tour or you can get about a lot on the train, there’s some good rover type tickets. Husband & I went all the way to John O Groats & Skye on the train (and a few buses and ferries!) for not too much, with a little planning. Beautiful views too. by whered_yougo (Tue 4th Jul 2023 12:59pm)
  • Single-end or Papercup. by whered_yougo (Wed 5th Jul 2023 4:52pm)
  • I’ve not lived in Glasgow for 7 years but it closed early on Sundays when I lived there just because. by whered_yougo (Sun 9th Jul 2023 9:26pm)
  • Culzean Castle in Ayrshire? by whered_yougo (Fri 28th Jul 2023 12:00pm)
  • We got married at Montrose St last year, they only open for enquiries a couple of mornings a week I believe, and it did take a while to sort out and we only got the total confirmation a couple of weeks before the wedding, so I would get in there asap. by whered_yougo (Sat 12th Aug 2023 12:05pm)
  • I’m so sorry this happened. It’s never okay to comment on other people’s appearance, especially in the negative. A friend of mines baby had a port wine birth mark on his face when he was a born. People used to say how awful it was to her. About her tiny baby!! People are idiots. Congratulations on being clean for so long 🩷 I hope she realised afterward how inconsiderate she was. by whered_yougo (Mon 14th Aug 2023 12:00pm)
  • You too 🩷 by whered_yougo (Mon 14th Aug 2023 12:27pm)
  • I’m sure many people would OP don’t beat yourself down. Try find something and maybe work on increasing your skill set too, night classes or something? I know it’s sucks but try keep your chin up. by whered_yougo (Thu 17th Aug 2023 8:16pm)
  • Head to the west end, go to kelvingrove museum, walk around the university cloisters, drop down onto the river path and walk up the botanics, walk down Byres Rd for some food or a coffee. Other museums include the modern art museum in the city centre, the science museum, riverside museum, the Huntarian. You can do a free tour of the city chambers which is really beautiful, they run daily at like 10am and 2pm (double check that tho before going as I may be wrong on times!) If you search things to do in this sub it’ll come up with tons more suggestions. by whered_yougo (Mon 21st Aug 2023 4:39pm)
  • Single End do a bunch of vegan cakes. by whered_yougo (Fri 1st Dec 2023 8:05pm)
