  • I used to live in govan hill. It was a shit hole then and still is now. Slum landlords and over crowding is a big issue. Tenements are infested with cockroaches. Allison street has large groups of males that hang around outside shops and as a female I felt very uncomfortable walking alone, especially at night. I would feel the same way regardless of race. Something needs to be done. by whoiamisme (Wed 20th Jan 2021 2:24pm)
  • Possible it had improved since I left and I was young at the time. by whoiamisme (Wed 20th Jan 2021 6:09pm)

  • I, a female, lived in govan hill in my 20s. I wouldn't move back and definitely not live there in a ground floor flat. Your flat windows will be right on the street so it will be easy for people to see in. Also, if the entrance door isn't secured, your flat will be the first they come too. I always avoided gf flats in any part of the city, even nice bits, because of this. My building was infested with cockroaches and generally poorly maintained. This is common throughout the area. There is also a problem with slum landlords. I'd keep looking. by whoiamisme (Fri 23rd Jul 2021 7:46pm)

  • I've never had an issue anywhere feeding 2 different children. Everywhere has always been welcoming. When you book just say you need space for a buggy if you want to keep it with you. Not Everywhere can accommodate buggies at all their tables. by whoiamisme (Thu 28th Oct 2021 3:57pm)

  • Why? They are on a very good wage and are just after more money? by whoiamisme (Wed 25th May 2022 7:33am)
  • True, but why strike? So many people deserve pay rises more an don't strike, eg nurses. What about minimum wage workers in supermarket? RMT union are too quick to strike. No-one I know in real life supports this. Drivers are on £50-60k. Get a better method for negotiating. by whoiamisme (Wed 25th May 2022 7:38am)

  • Thank you. This is a clear consideration response. by whoiamisme (Wed 25th May 2022 8:05am)
  • Can I just say thank you to the people that have contributed to having a genuine discussion on the issue. It is interesting although it won't change my mind. (I have supported strikes in the past, I'm not anti them) I think we call all agree that those calling people scabs and being threatening are fit to be ignored. by whoiamisme (Wed 25th May 2022 8:28am)
  • I'm actually genuinely interested in hearing the others side as most media I'm seeing is bias. Asking on this sub is giving me a good view of an alternative POV. Just wish those being insulting would sod off! by whoiamisme (Wed 25th May 2022 8:35am)
