  • Its a shame this mentality is too prominent when it really fucking sucks when people are going through this. Cos it’s mostly mental as well it doesn’t help when folk shit on you. I found getting through my anxiety by just exposing myself to what I feared most and helping others really. Was basically confined to my flat with limited going out for about 5 years and now I have control of my anxiety and I’m living just about a normal life again by wonderfuladventure (Thu 24th Jan 2019 5:38am)

  • Cheers mate. Thinking of getting to a few partick thistle games if I get this place anyway so maybe I can join in the chaos. Can you elaborate more about the housing association? Does that mean a lot of the flats are council owned? It wouldn’t matter to me but just interesting by wonderfuladventure (Thu 24th Jan 2019 10:53am)

It doesn't really rain that much but investing in a decent jacket is worth it. 2. some years it doesn't snow at all but equally, decent jacket and some gloves. good hiking boots will be worth the money 3. There's a lot of stores you'll be able to find this stuff yep, investigate once you arrive but Glasgow has loads and loads of clothes shops 4. it doesn't really get that cold in terms of scotland. You might find yourself wearing a jumper when everyone else is wearing a t shirt though while you get used to it Good luck on the move, glasgow is an amazing place by wonderfuladventure (Mon 20th May 2019 1:55pm)

  • Feels like if anyone posts something positive about Glasgow to this subreddit it’ll get mindlessly upvoted. Real story is that this picture is from early in the day, as it went on there were so many people protesting that it was impossible to socially distance. by wonderfuladventure (Sun 7th Jun 2020 11:42pm)
  • The second wave was ensured the moment we all went overboard in parks and public places and seeing everyone we know the moment they relaxed restrictions. It’ll be blamed on this protest though even though the damage was already done. by wonderfuladventure (Mon 8th Jun 2020 11:20am)
  • You mean the behaviour you saw last weekend when it was sunny and the whole of Glasgow were not social distancing in the parks? by wonderfuladventure (Mon 8th Jun 2020 1:53pm)
  • Your point is completely moot when last weekend I cycled around various parks in Glasgow, each full to the brim of people not social distancing. They couldn’t really because it was just so busy, thanks to the government easing lockdown before one of the warmest weekends of the year. But as you say, we’re each responsible for your own actions... the fact is that a second wave was already inevitable thanks to government incompetencies and will be solely blamed on these protests. But you do you. by wonderfuladventure (Mon 8th Jun 2020 1:51pm)

  • They put it on Twitter mate by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 3:09pm)
  • You’re moaning about them airing their grievances on reddit. It’s been posted to twitter and then someone has shared it to reddit. There’s a difference there for em. by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 3:28pm)
  • I’m not speaking directly about the issue no, but I think his statement was misleading. Twitter is a platform commonly used by professional entities, whereas I think it’s unusual and a bit unprofessional to use reddit to communicate such issues. His statement implies they were using reddit and it’s wrong, I just corrected him. It’s really not as big a deal as you guys are making out. by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 3:38pm)
  • They’re not using reddit though. If Sturgeon makes a statement on twitter and it is shared to reddit, you wouldn’t say she is using reddit. I didn’t have an opinion I wanted to add on the rest of what you said, I just had an issue with that specific part of your comment, so I shared my opinion. by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 3:44pm)
  • See my other comment I replied to the guy who tagged you, I just think there’s a distinct difference between using the platforms for these kinds of issues. No problem or argument at all man, I was just pointing out something from your initial comment that I thought was misleading. Also social media isn’t a thing for teenagers, twitter started in 2006. The oldest teenagers now at that point would be 5 years old if my maths is correct! by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 3:42pm)
  • I think you’ve gotten confused, we are discussing the union’s statement, not the original employee’s statement that they were fired for. In which case talking one platform over another is very much relevant. Twitter is a platform with very common corporate usage. Reddit is not. It’s as simple as that. by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 3:46pm)
  • That’s fair enough mate, I was never voicing disagreement with you on those issues. My whole point was that the statement was on twitter and you implied it was on reddit. I think it would be very weird for a union to make this kind of statement on reddit. by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 3:52pm)
  • I don’t think you have any clue what we are talking about in this comment chain 🤦‍♂️ by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 3:55pm)
  • This comment thread has never been about the platform being used by the employee until you brought it up fella by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 4:02pm)
  • Yep fair enough mate, no problem here at all and glad we could understand eachother eventually haha by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 4:05pm)
  • The original comment implied that the union statement was on reddit. I disagreed with that sentiment. Your comments are completely irrelevant to this conversation and I am struggling to understand how you can’t see that 😂 even OP and I have came to an understanding about the conversation already and here’s you still going by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 4:13pm)
  • I think it would be wise for you to reread the thread and try to understand what happened here. Your reading comprehension hasn’t served you well today pal. by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 4:21pm)
  • You aren’t aware of it though. You said that other guy was right on this issue and he went on to admit that he initially didn’t understand what I was saying. by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 4:29pm)
  • And I wasn’t disagreeing with him on the issue. You very much fail to understand that, I’m not assuming anything. It’s plain to see 😂 by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Jun 2020 4:42pm)

  • It’s a strange one - kelvingrove park is absolutely the worst for it I’ve seen. People seem to come from all over glasgow to kelvingrove on snowy or sunny days so maybe it’s a “I don’t live around here so I don’t give a shit” sort of festival mentality people get. But at the same time I’ve seen groups of uni students there as well leaving tonnes of shite around too even though some of them probably have to walk through it everyday, so who knows. by wonderfuladventure (Wed 10th Feb 2021 12:07pm)
  • Is it possible that that’s just a Scottish thing? Anywhere I’ve been in Scotland it’s the same. Maybe an unpopular thing to say in /r/glasgow by wonderfuladventure (Thu 18th Feb 2021 8:00pm)
  • I’m from the east coast originally and I couldn’t disagree more tbh, edinburgh in general is just as friendly as glasgow unless the festival is on. I’ve lived in glasgow for about 10 years now as well. by wonderfuladventure (Fri 19th Feb 2021 2:43pm)
