  • I was starting to feel myself again at the beginning of the year, more optimistic about the future, then the Ukraine war started and we now have the constant threat of nuclear war combined with the current economic crisis. Working in healthcare I saw the the effects of the pandemic first hand and the aftermath is actually worse in some ways. Morale is at an all time low, I’ve never saw the wards so short staffed and I don’t see how things will get better anytime soon. I hope things will pick up over the next few years but we still have a bit of a journey ahead to get to that point. I’m not totally miserable but life definitely isn’t the same. by wonderfulworld80 (Sun 16th Oct 2022 7:41pm)
  • My Dad’s side are from Maryhill. A comedian came on at The Stand and before he told us where he was from I said to my husband ‘he’s from Maryhill’ East end of Glasgow has a different sound also with some words pronounced differently. There are definitely variations. by wonderfulworld80 (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 10:50pm)

  • I’ve worked in every hospital in Glasgow and although the building isn’t up to much, the care/staffing in the Royal is better than other hospitals. I’d choose the Royal over Glasgows ‘super hospital’ the QEUH. by wonderfulworld80 (Wed 20th Sep 2023 12:55am)
