  • Or you could bite into a day old crispy roll n tottie scone drunk and snap your tooth off like I did last night....my tooth landed on my plate. Because I was drunk I laughed about it, now I'm sober for some reason it's not as funny. So moral of the story is throw your day old fucking rolls out! by A_bit_of_toast (Fri 17th Jul 2020 11:48am)
  • Southside of Glasgow sky was flickering white light on and off at the same spot or around 30 mins at 10.20pm, no sound of thunder. Never seen that before. by A_bit_of_toast (Wed 12th Aug 2020 12:23am)

  • You may be right, I don't think I have recovered from the childhood trauma of being bought Turkish Delight instead of jelly tots on a Saturday night 33 years ago. by A_bit_of_toast (Sat 14th Aug 2021 11:20am)
  • I have never thought about doing that, not a bad idea, thank you. Love me some Sci-fi. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 11:34am)

  • I like the idea of a cafe, I'm thinking restaurant might be too much even though I'm not shy. I was thinking of trying an art class as I enjoy drawing. Good thing about being a bit older, I don't hide my geeky interests as much now. Thank you for your kind words of advice, it is appreciated. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 11:48am)
  • This is true! by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 11:53am)

  • The being comfortable amongst a silent brethren of the socially awkward comment made me choke on my tea laughing! by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 11:58am)
  • I have a PS4 and Xbox, going to build a gaming PC in the coming months for Star Citizen. Disappointed in the Battlefield and Back 4 Blood Betas, so been playing my all time favourite (LFD2) - Left 4 Dead 2 for the past week and I have been loving it. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 12:02pm)
  • I am glad you had a good time, sounds like a good day to be honest. I'm glad I posted today as I will 100% giving this a go now. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 12:13pm)
  • I agree 100% with what you are saying. I am however surprised I'm not taking abuse for my post, as I was embarrassed to even ask, but now seeing peoples responses I can see I was being daft. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 12:17pm)
  • This is true, I was like this before but I have had people close to me die in the past few years, including my Father leaving me broken hearted so I haven't been myself if I'm honest. Life is for living and not worrying. I am extremely grateful to the kindness shown to me today by my fellow Glaswegians. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 12:36pm)
  • Thank you for your comment, its appreciated. I wouldn't say you blend in with the background, more likely your acting normal and not trying to gain validation by acting like a over the top arsehole, normal and humble are good qualities to have. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 1:19pm)
  • I will mention that to my boy, I normally take him to comic con in the SEC and it's a good laugh. Last one I dressed up as a lobster and I spent a month making him a Mr Meeseeks costume from Rick and Morty, he loved it so no doubt we will go. Thank you for letting me know about it. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 1:37pm)
  • I don't belive you are ugly, I belive our bodies are just a space suit we need to walk about this planet, we don't have souls, we are souls. The important people can see this. What is ugly to me are people that think that looks alone make up for having a shallow, shitty nature. You have shown kindness and empathy, both are important qualities to have making you the opposite of ugly. Thank you for being kind, take this award! by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 2:01pm)
  • 100% will be day one install. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 2:18pm)
  • Escape from Tarkov looks right up my street, I have seen it on twitch. I can see me building a PC really soon. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 2:20pm)
  • I didn't realise it was so cheap, I'm going to look into it, thank you. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 2:47pm)
  • I am glad you are going to give it a go like me, even better a girl that would go and see a film like Dune without being forced, so they do exist.... I went to bed last night with a heavy heart after ironing nice clothes to go onto the town myself as I have a week off work, then changed my mind. I tried to drink some wine and after a couple of glasses made tea and went to bed to watch Netflix, I wont lie I have felt better after being shat on by a seagull. Was thinking I'm a strange to go out myself, but after reading the kind words from everyone today its changed my mind. One of the reasons I like Reddit is, it's more look at THIS instead of look at ME, more honesty I feel. Funny how the kindest acts can come from complete strangers, never underestimate how a kind act/word, no matter how small can make a big impact. Thank you for comment. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 3:50pm)
  • Thats I nice offer, I will send you a message when I build my rig. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 3:56pm)
  • That's funny, at least he had clothes on under the big jacket... by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 4:19pm)
  • Funny, but I can see why you are saying that, cheers for making me laugh. I do agree with the loner part. Anyone can create a perfect digital version of themself, it's just not for me. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 4:57pm)
  • Thank you for sharing that. I guess sometimes we make our own luck, you meeting your partner and then having a baby together is a good story. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 5:30pm)
  • I have watched these past 2 lockdowns strip people of their confidence and it's been replaced with anxiety. If we were all the same it would be a boring world, hopfully the people reading this post and feel the same might take a chance and try it. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 8:02pm)
  • Aye, it's been good reading about peoples solo adventures, I had no idea! by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 9:53pm)
  • That is a good idea, I have spent the night writing down the films I want to see and the places I am going to try out, Wagamama has been added to the list, thank you. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 9:58pm)
  • Funny you say Japan, before the lockdowns I was saving up to go. If I was going to go anywhere on holiday myself Japan is top of my list, thank you. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 10:03pm)
  • I have downloaded the app, going to get the unlimited card fuck it. What is the worst that can happen?, I have missed so many films because my boy is going with pals or I have nobody to go with so aye, app downloaded, card will be purchased, cheers! by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 10:21pm)
  • When I said to my boy about going to see Venom the other day he said to me Dad that won't be happening, I'm going with pals....so aye Venom, James Bond and Dune are on my list first! by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 10:55pm)
  • I know it sounds daft but I felt sorry for the people I seen alone before. Little did i know they were living the dream. Now I have read what people have said including yourself and after thinking about it and how my x would talk shit for no reason constantly I get it, I just didn't think about what it would be like without that. I have changed from being embarrassed to actually looking forward to getting good munchies to take in and I'm excited to go, no stress. by A_bit_of_toast (Mon 11th Oct 2021 11:44pm)
  • This is true, my views have genuinely changed thanks to the people posting today, and I'm grateful for that. Before the lockdowns I had went to the science center a couple of times by myself to see lectures about space and got to hold a meteor from mars and I thought that was fucking great, maybe you can see why I'm single.... As for the animals, it would be good to meet a girl that liked animals or would help me build my chicken coop, and not be annoyed I'm saving up for my own bee hive for my garden but let's be honest that's just not going to happen. I'm happy enough with going to see Venom this week now! Thank you for commenting though, that was nice of you to say that. by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 12:42am)
  • Aye, I can't see myself in a restaurant anytime soon by myself. Somebody did mention Wagamama right enough, something like that won't be bad. I felt like Billy Big Balls when I went for a Burger King myself the other day so small steps. by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 12:49am)
  • Will do, apart from Sean Connery hes my favourite Bond. The first Venom was good, hopfully this will be the same! by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 1:26am)
  • I get that, I have always been in long term relationships so doing anything like this alone is new ground for me. The past 2 years i have been single as you will know has been mainly lockdown. That being said because I refuse to do online dating I have no choice unless I want to sit myself after work every night so I am going to just do these things myself until I meet the right person. Thank you for your comment. by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 7:37am)
  • I have lost almost all of my friends over the years due to drugs and bad health. A part of me died along side losing them, not sure why this happens too me but I take things to heart, I wish I didn't. I don't handle grief well at all, I'm unsure if I will ever get over these things. The ones I do have like I said are married and have limited interests like football and betting, both I know nothing about. Combine that with being the one who always reaches out first or messages them I have just stopped trying as i never hear from them it is always me texting or calling if that makes sense? Good people just busy with married life and family and I understand that. That's a nice thing you have said, if you are ever in Scotland send me a message, thank you. by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 8:03am)
  • That's funny, I was planning on strong eye contact with strangers while eating exclusively sausages, thanks for the heads up, no pun intended. by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 8:08am)
  • Aye south side, I thought I was dreaming when I heard fireworks this morning. Plus I have an arsehole of a nabour (street behind mine I think) that blasts his/her engine so loud it wakes me up every morning at 6.20, without fail the loudest engine I have ever heard, he or she blasts it full pelt along the road....total wank, horrible way to wake up. by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 9:12am)
  • I like this by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 9:22am)
  • Thanks for the advice, yesterday has changed my perspective on this from what others have said in this post. Last night in bed I began planning a solo trip to Japan and how I would need to save up to achieve this, on top of writing a list of films and places to go to eat, if you would have told me that i was going to be doing this last week I wouldn't have belived you. If you read through this post, people have have given good, sincere advice and it's made my week already. by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 9:38am)
  • What are the chances of that, must have been fate! by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 12:13pm)
  • Sounds like a good plan, I think I have been lazy by hiding behind being myself. I have started to plan a trip abroad and made a list of things I will be trying to do in the coming weeks. I'm not a fan of facebook ect, but redit is anonymous and I'm glad I have asked a question that has been on my mind for a good while. This post has given great insight to the options available too me. Thanks for posting. by A_bit_of_toast (Tue 12th Oct 2021 4:33pm)
  • Me: How would go about fighting off 100 pigeons? GlasgowGPT: Righ', so wit ye dae is find yersel' a good length bit o' wood or a cricket bat, know? Then ye start swinging at them pigeons that come at ye, like ye're playing golf. Keep swingin' until they're aw flying gless-eyed doon the high street. Do that proper and they'll no be bothering ye again any time soon, pal. Me: Sounds like a good plan, how did you learn this technique? GlasgowGPT: Ach, it's just common sense, ain't it? When I was growing up in Pollokshields, pigeons were always flyin' aboot everywhere. Had tae learn how to deal with them, else they'd shit aw ower the windaes. So, ye find something that's long enough and sturdy, and then ye start swinging like mad. Not that complicated, really. by A_bit_of_toast (Sat 27th May 2023 2:10pm)
