  • Well you have got town (City centre) that is on hills, fine. To the north around Maryhill, that is on hills fine. But, east end (celtic park), south end (where I am living atm) and the west end (byres road) are mostly flat (couple of slopes here and there) but not big slopes or hills as compared to the countryside. Didn't know where till i got the answers. by Alwayswatchout (Tue 20th Aug 2019 11:32pm)

  • Wrong word, diversity, lots of people from different places of the world in Pollokshields. Cause I know there is indo-pak diaspora and that's fine obviously but i am asking is there other people from other parts of the world or is it just indo-pak people? (again, to stress, not racist towards indo-pak, its just to find out if there's other people as well in Pollokshields) That's all. Hope i didn't sound offensive by Alwayswatchout (Fri 10th Jul 2020 2:46pm)

  • Lived in G51 for a loong time so will answer. The area is not bad depending upon which street you live on. There's a problem with the bins being full but that's not a unique problem in Glasgow. This is crucial for me as rhe Street I am living on on one side of Paisley road west, there is no pubs meaning hardly any rangers fan will gather round in that street. Note: anyone please correct me if I'm wrong on this but due to covid19 the rangers football matches will be played behind closed doors for the rest of 2020 i think. Transport links to city centre and the major motorways is excellent. Probably is as close as you can get to the city centre and being able to quickly jump on the motorway if need be. There's also bellahouston park nearby which is massive and its a good park. Decent amenities as well coop post office etc. Think. That's it :) by Alwayswatchout (Thu 16th Jul 2020 9:05pm)
  • What camera did you use? by Alwayswatchout (Tue 21st Jul 2020 2:49am)
  • Yeah my rough estimate, in Glasgow at least since we seem to handling the virus better atm, is i give it till middle of 2021 for things to slowly come back to normal. But this depends on how well we do during the winter and let's be honest, flu season is really bad during winter here :( by Alwayswatchout (Tue 21st Jul 2020 9:07pm)

  • Np, glad i helped with the Nostalgia. >how has covid affected you- I mean, has it been very hectic for you during the pandemic/lockdown? Yes it was very hectic in march/April. Was very busy. I was delivering groceries so you get the idea. The only advantage i had was that the roads and motorways were completely empty. It was like my own personal racetrack in march and April. That picture was token in April after an early morning shift during the hot sun (25 or 27 Celsius) and the blue sky... 🀀🀀 So yeah i had to stand outside my car for a few minutes and get that picture token. This picture was taken 20 mins drive outside Glasgow. by Alwayswatchout (Thu 23rd Jul 2020 12:37am)

  • So the 15ft height ceiling in my tenement room is basically unheard of in other type of houses because whenever i go out to do delivery work in new built houses or even fancy houses, they're ceilings are a lot lower than the tenement ceiling height which makes me feel a bit appreciated about the tenement now. Sad that they're slowly becoming a victim of their own success :( by Alwayswatchout (Thu 24th Dec 2020 12:40am)

  • Yup my family and I are trying to buy a 4 bedroom house because we have been living in a 4 bedroom tenement flat for past 20 years. Give you one example, saw a property in Cambuslang that needed a renovation job was run down past 5 years and was a repossessed property, offers over 195k, 5 bedroom detached house (reality was 4 bedroom plus boxed room) Put in offer of 229k (mortgage) thinking we did it. • https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/news/former-bellahouston-academy-building-demolished-19161130 (For reference) I live in one of the streets where there was another planning application that was happening last year for the former Bellahouston academy swimming pool to be converted into flats for social housing. Me and my family tried hard to get the neighbours to sign the petition on the glasgow city Council to stop this from happening since it would result in even more parking problems for the local area since you already had post office, estate agents, Bellahouston business centre, and the local Mosque and as u say match day parking from ibrox. Sadly, as I'm sure u can see, council still went ahead with this rubbish of adding yet more housing in an area that's already busy... I really hope that the council are not corrupted enough to Allow this to go through but this is my experience of dealing with the council. Will be signing that petition as well. We have plenty of drive throughs as it is in ibrox/govsn because of how close we are to the motorway corridor and ibrox and city centre and west end! :/ by Alwayswatchout (Thu 11th Nov 2021 11:41pm)

  • >£600 a day for a tester. £800 a day for a release manager. £1000+ a day for a dev. And they are always doing a full 37.5 hour week on a multi year project or programme so it's not like they are resources IR35 does that when contractors are forced to up their rates since HMRC thinks they are employees even though the contractors don't get full.time employee perks... by Alwayswatchout (Wed 26th Jul 2023 10:31pm)

  • I'm going to say something different here which is.... The Accent. Braveheart is a good start to get an idea of the glasgow accent. But, to get a better idea of the glasgow accent is watching one episode of Scottish sitcom, Still Game. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Still_Game https://youtu.be/Yzqf7jHKKyU - this is an episode of Still Game. Watch it with the English subtitles (seriously) and you will get an idea of Glasgow Speaks... If you still decide to come, then Welcome :) by Alwayswatchout (Thu 10th Aug 2023 10:36pm)
  • long term solution that I can honestly think of, for yourself, is to move out so that you are in a different environment altogether and have control of your own life. Easier said than done but that's the long term. >She’s also 67 and doesn’t keep well, so I’m scared she’ll die in less than 20 years and I’ll regret cutting ties with her. Girl, I'm a pakistani Muslim myself (male) and, generally speaking, females live longer than males and, you should priorities ureself over your mother irrespective of how long you last for... Short term, it's going to suck, but time heals everything and you will move on and so will your mother too... Hypothetically speaking, if your mother dies in 5 years Time from now, Would you rather have 5 years of grief and misery living with her or 5 years of taking control of your life...? by Alwayswatchout (Wed 23rd Aug 2023 7:59pm)
