  • Have you applied for these jobs online? What gave me the most replies was actually going around the restaurants and giving me CV in person, sometimes you would be able to speak to a person in charge so you've got more chance to be remembered. I got like 5 call backs after that when online application gave me nothing. Good luck! by BasiaBie (Fri 3rd Jan 2020 3:21pm)
  • That is so no true. I work at one of the chains now. What they do most of the time they pick a person personally and then they make you apply online. Obviously I'm not saying its like that with every chain but most of the restaurants (not sure about coffee shops etc) do that. From my personal experience I got a call back from 3 chain restaurants after going there personally in one day when I literally got none from the application online itself. And it was the same with every part time job I have had during my studies. by BasiaBie (Fri 3rd Jan 2020 5:12pm)

  • The one I was looking at, is on the Bank Street so right next to high flats. I think that's what bothered my boyfriend. I'm commuting to Livingston South so not the easiest one by BasiaBie (Fri 6th Nov 2020 8:07pm)
  • I'll look into that! Thank you by BasiaBie (Fri 6th Nov 2020 8:12pm)
  • Fair enough. I'll look into that. Thank you! by BasiaBie (Fri 6th Nov 2020 8:11pm)
  • Thank you for your reply. What do you mean by the war zone? Like people fighting on the street? by BasiaBie (Fri 6th Nov 2020 8:11pm)
  • It's actually my exact observation from few weeks ago! Very sad. I love Glasgow and I think it has so much to offer but going through this bit is so painful. I went on a walk to this area, getting stuff from Lidl etc, and the amount of men stopping me on the street was scary. I had a talk with people from work and they said it's always been bad but I do think it's gotten worse recently. Such a shame cause every country (big cities) has rough areas but why city centre!? Its literally the first area visitors see. I do think you should try and move away though, I wouldn't feel safe. Good luck and I'm so sorry you had to experience this! by BasiaBie (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 12:14am)
  • I moved to Uddingston from Glasgow City Centre and I think it's great! Good public transport and lots of nice restaurants and places to walk to by BasiaBie (Mon 19th Apr 2021 2:38pm)
