  • When you think about what CBT actually is it almost feels like an insult that they suggested it in the first place. Its basically 'notice when you are beginning to feel anxious and try to prevent it overwhelming you'. It was useless for me for years but over time I have realised that it truly is all I needed since it feels like more of a skill you can learn and perfect over time than something that you just read up on and know how to do immediately. I know not all cases are the same, and I do think you should try and find other things to help you out, but I wouldn't completely forget about CBT it might work out for you in future. If it helps you out, I had massive anxiety every time I was going out the house since the only actual activity I had in my life was going to the hospital once every 2 weeks for chemo for 18 months. Every time anyone suggested going anywhere I was crippled with anxiety since I associated going out with going to chemo. I never took any medication for it. I had nothing to be anxious about after treatment, so I just faced it head on by trying to actually do more things and expect to feel that awful dread every time I tried - and I did, but over time I adjusted and things worked out mainly because of CBT. by Blinkkkk (Mon 21st Jan 2019 11:01pm)

  • What's also a shame is that this is just along the street from South West Community Cycles - a charity funded by the climate challenge fund with the aim of reducing carbon emissions by cycling instead of driving. by Blinkkkk (Wed 22nd May 2019 11:12pm)
  • I also was told by BT when I was cancelling my bt to switch over of the 'horror stories' and 'dug up gardens' that virgin media were guilty of when installing new line from the street to my house. The cable had to be put under the grass in my front garden (which belongs to my neighbour) and they left a tiny line in the grass that was gone after 2 weeks. The only issue ive had is that they gave me a written contract of £40 a month forever- nothing mentioned rising bill. After 1 year it almost doubled and it felt like a total scam. Still getting great speeds though. by Blinkkkk (Wed 25th Sep 2019 1:51am)

  • I was told the same thing. I hate Virgin at the moment since they upped my bill even though my contract says specifically that it was never going to but this is just a scare tactic by a competitor. They had to "dig up my neighbours garden" to install the line but the guy was so efficient that there was a barely noticable thin line next a fence in the ground that disappeared after a couple of weeks. by Blinkkkk (Mon 23rd Dec 2019 6:57pm)

  • Its not much, but make sure ask GHA about a BnQ voucher. They should give you a £100 voucher that will at least help with some paint and other things. I took the first house offered to me and it was a state aswell. I am happy with it now but it did take a lot of hard work. I would start by taking of all wallpaper they had, scrub all the walls with sugar soap and even clean all surfaces/windows/ledges/doors until you feel like you can actually touch things without it feeling like someone elses boggin house. Get cheap paint like brilliant white matt emulsion with the BnQ voucher. 2 big tubs did my entire 2 bedroom flat with bathroom. I wallpapered the kitchen. If you really want some color do it once you can afford it. Try and get a couple of mates to help you paint itll make it less hopeless. The difference even just paining and cleaning makes will seriously raise your spirits. Carpets can be expensive. I had some money and spent £800 getting new carpets and underlay in most of the house including new lino for the kitchen. If you know someone who can help you do it, itll be cheaper to pay them but I just paid guys to do it quickly. They did the entire place in < 2 hours. If you can really stretch it, get underlay in the room you will spend the most time in, it makes a massive difference. As soon as carpets are down itll start feeeling like a real place again. I have no idea how to get carpets cheap other than taking what is cheap in the store. I would definitely take all of the free furniture you can get, and scour gumtree for whatever cheap or free stuff you can use. You can get some great free desks/chairs and even bed side cabinets or curtains. Whatever you end up not needing you can sell anyway, or pass it on. by Blinkkkk (Thu 22nd Oct 2020 8:01pm)
  • Cleaning my place was pretty miserable. No one wants to come help clean either. I would get that out of the way first. Painting is alright and doesnt take as long as I thought. by Blinkkkk (Sat 24th Oct 2020 1:39pm)
  • Different sites of even the same chains have different opening days/times due to business levels. Chances are if you can book odeon online, the quay will still be open for that day since it is really easy to turn of/on online bookings instantly. by Blinkkkk (Fri 30th Oct 2020 4:22am)
  • 'LEAKED EMAIL CLAMS' Is just clickbait. "Timescales are uncertain, but we are working to an assumption that a vaccine will be available from mid-December 2020." I think the Odeon have the cheapest membership card at 9,99. Cineworld adverts make you think its also 9.99 until you realise only some seriously garbage sites in the UK fall under the 9.99 price. If you can handle that then apply. We did group interviews before and have had a mix of people disclosing their autism, and some not. Being totally honest, I preffered when they did disclose it so you can give them a fairer chance if they struggled with any part of the interview. by Blinkkkk (Sun 25th Jul 2021 2:47am)
  • The IMAX never made any money. The projectors in the IMAX are much better than the projectors currently in the superscreen at Silverburn and there are talks about moving them there instead. If they do move them there - the superscreen at Silverburn will be insane. Until then, the iSense screen at the Quay will have a brighter, clearer picture and better seats. Just make sure you book them way in advance as I think Dune will sell out. Source: have worked at all 3 cinemas. by Blinkkkk (Tue 31st Aug 2021 1:55am)

  • I live in a council scheme. The entire area is full of bulk uplift thats been there since the change and its only getting worse. Most people around here have clearly thrown out something when its 100% useless. Beds snapped in half etc. People here can barely afford to replace their broken things, nevermind paying to get them removed. In a year or 2 its going to be disgusting. by Blinkkkk (Thu 18th Nov 2021 1:52pm)
  • Used to work at cinema. Phones are expensive lost property so it would be dealt with by a manager/team leader/security who has done it enough times to know not to give it away without real proof. We also had all standard phone chargers for staff, so would use them to keep customer phones charged to make sure they could demonstrate either by telling us what the background/screensaver was, signing in to something with ID, or even just showing us a bunch of selfies they had already taken. Phones never lasted long in lost property though, people quickly realise they have lost it and come back for it usually in less than an hour so theres a good chance its already home. by Blinkkkk (Sun 21st Nov 2021 3:37pm)

  • The pixel issue requires them to get a new motherboard for the projector which they have refused to do for years. The cinema itself has a 'catalogue' and system for monitoring screen condition/sound - even the condition of things like the walls and ceiling tiles. The problem is that it costs so much to fix some of the issues that they will not bother until enough people complain. As for focus - it can be fixed on the spot. For some reason though, the settings reset every time you turn off the projector so someone has to do it every time and probably just didn't this time. The stain on screen 7 mentioned earlier is also a pain in the ass because it costs a lot to replace the entire screen, and since its made of a weird reflective material to reflect as much light as possible you cant just wipe the stain off. Its almost like glitter glued to a thin sheet. Wiping it just makes it even worse. Your reviews on the facebook page, and the customer satisfaction surverys DO get read and usually dealt with if something like this becomes an issue seen to affect the cinemas overall score. Cineworld used to be in such a good spot until they started buying entire cinema chains. Now there is barely any spending, no fancy meetings, even the small team meetings have no sweets etc so they probably wont fix pixel issues or smudges for a long time. by Blinkkkk (Sat 5th Feb 2022 12:48am)
  • If its not a 3d screen itll have a different fabric and some smaller stains can be cleaned. 3D silver screens cannot be cleaned at all. The only thing your maintenance man/av team can you do is use a giant duster to sweep dust off the white screens. They cant touch the silver ones - they need to be replaced. by Blinkkkk (Sat 5th Feb 2022 12:54am)
  • In training you are taught to look at everything, customers making noise, smells, temperature, is the screen FLAT/SCOPE and in focus and many more - not just to pop your head in. Renfrew st is the only cineworld left with an actual av team who CAN sort these things - they have weekly requirements to check every screen for issues. its just weird that they dont actually fix them. by Blinkkkk (Sat 5th Feb 2022 12:52am)

  • I waited 6 months. Then another 4 for a second meeting. Prepare for some questions like 'are you doing this for money or pills?'. If you cannot demonstrate that you had most of the symptoms before age 12 you will not be diagnosed with adhd. Read the diva questionnaire and think long and hard about each bullet point. Take good notes so you don't forget things because I felt it was quite rushed. They won't ask in any specific order either. Do not lie or over exaggerate either. A fake diagnosis is worse than no diagnosis. by Blinkkkk (Mon 4th Apr 2022 8:41pm)
  • How do you have proof of symptoms as an adult? Its all just going to be question and answer. If you dont have someone who knew you in childhood then they will have to do without. Old school reports can be good but mine were rubbish. You just need to give good answers to the questions they ask. I feel like they have asked enough people these questions to tell when people are talking rubbish or not. by Blinkkkk (Mon 4th Apr 2022 10:29pm)

  • The Cineworld in town is the worst for that kind of behaviour. The staff do not care, and probably won't care after the way they were treated at lockdown. Odeon at the key is alright since the seats are a bit further away from other customers. Your plan of going a while after release and early in the day is good though - Cineworld at Silverburn is actually much better for peace, but can be risky depending on what type of movie you are going to. I 100% agree about the behaviour of kids these days. Im early thirties and have to deal with arsehole young teams constantly coming in to my work and ruining it for everyone. There are barely any good kids any more. The way they just run about unpunished, basically terrorising everyone is only going to lead them to miserable lives. So many of them havent been to school since they started secondary. I feel bad for them, but also hate them. There are 10 year old kids coming in to the shopping centre drunk and smoking. Adults are also worse than before lockdown. The main thing that annoys me is also noisy neighbours - but also the stench of weed pretty much everywhere in glasgow. by Blinkkkk (Wed 20th Jul 2022 1:00am)

  • Some schools here are much worse than others. If you posted what school he is in, and what the other options might be, then people here could maybe chime in if they have been there recently. Otherwise, it would be a good idea to report this kind of thing to the school. If hes not even targeted and feeling stressed, then imagine how the people that actually are bullied feel. I didn't report people I was worried about back in my school, and near the end of 6th year one of them murdered someone. Always regretted that I wasn't a huge grass. The other options are to do things that will help him with his own confidence. Eat enough good food so he isnt skinny/weak. Hit the gym for beginner strength training. If hes worried about anything in his appearance then work towards fixing it - its the best time to fix issues, whether its teeth/skin/weight/style. It will make a massive difference to his confidence and depression. by Blinkkkk (Sun 7th Aug 2022 8:54pm)

  • I dont think there will be a single school without wee shits or snobs. Learning to deal with these kinds of people is just another part of the experience. My school was huge (holyrood), and back then I think most of us that stayed till the end of 6th year enjoyed it. There were so many people in my year that you were bound to find some cool people. They also seperated the classes by grades, so if you were a clever child and put some effort in, then you would be surrounded by mostly similar people. I feel like the smaller the school is, the riskier it might be since you could just get unlucky, and have a batch of shite kids as classmates that year that you cannot escape. I have heard holyrood has went downhill since, but I have also not heard of any school getting better over time. by Blinkkkk (Thu 1st Sep 2022 1:13am)

I am not sure if its still the same - but back when I had 'Unlimited' data it was only unlimited on my phone; when tethering it had limits. 3 also used to be great for me in the southside, then one day I went from getting 200mb+ speeds to <5 and it never returned. • [This page](https://www.gla.ac.uk/study/short/accesscourses/choosingyoursubjects/#d.en.833807) will help you decide what access courses to do if you attend UofG. I did an access course during lockdown to 'refresh' my qualifications because they were over 10 years old. I had to do Maths/Physics for entry to Computing Science. The classes themselves were probably the highlight of the week since I lived alone and lockdown was pretty strict at that point. Funding was also available for the courses even though they are cheap. The teacher (Greek/American guy) was really cool and very good at explaining things. The course content itself was much easier than scottish highers. Everyone I know who was in that course and got two A grades was guaranteed a place at uni. Everyone who actually attended the online lectures till the end got those grades. My other options for entry would have been: Going to full time college courses for a year or 2, or SWAP courses that don't seem very clear on whether or not you will actually gain entry to a course. The glasgow uni access course was definitely the easier option, and the option that requires less of your time each week. You will probably learn more on an access course/full time college though, and have much more guided learning than self study. Im not sure exactly what course you would do at glasgow uni, but courses like Psychology do accept access course students, however they are very competitive. Glasgow uni itself is too overcrowded and I have a feeling they might make entrance requirements more strict in future. Im not sure about the other Universities and what they might accept. Every university I emailed was usually quite quick to respond to any enquiry. If you need any help with feel free to PM me. by Blinkkkk (Thu 24th Nov 2022 9:53pm)

You could also message them with an excuse why you couldn't go and they might give you some vouchers to return at least. Cinemas barely every sell out all their seats, so giving out vouchers to come back increases the chance people will buy food or remain loyal. by Blinkkkk (Fri 10th Mar 2023 4:46pm)

Ditch broadband and just use a phone as a hotspot with an unlimited sim. I used it this way for months. It was good enough to do anything you would do on a regular internet connection, even playing online games with about 60ms ping was fine.
