  • There is evidence of HGV driver shortages across Europe, but the UK has been among the hardest hit by the problem. This was because many European drivers went back to their home countries, or decided to work elsewhere. When the UK was part of the single market, they used to be able to come and go as they pleased. But the additional border bureaucracy after Brexit meant it was too much hassle for many of them to drive into and out of the UK. Many drivers are paid by the mile or kilometre rather than by the hour, so delays cost them money. Also, the decline in the value of the pound against the euro since the Brexit vote has meant that being paid in pounds has been less attractive for EU nationals. source - beeb by BumblebeeYellowee (Sat 25th Sep 2021 3:20pm)

  • We recently bought a 2 bed ex Council in Kings Park just beside Hampden for £95K. Brilliant decision for us - you’re right beside Shawlands Battlefield etc. They are listed as 2/3 bed cottage flats and come up a lot in Croftfoot and Kingspark. by BumblebeeYellowee (Tue 4th Jan 2022 3:04pm)
  • In the first picture, the guy with the ‘tache - I think that’s my grampa! That pic used to be in the peoples palace I’m sure. I’ll send it to him and check. by BumblebeeYellowee (Fri 14th Jan 2022 4:59pm)

  • Late reply sorry - it is indeed! Noise is no worse than any tenement I’ve lived in. We’re an upper though so our neighbours might feel differently! We’re right beside Hampden Park, it’s a fab bit just on the periphery of everything. by BumblebeeYellowee (Mon 14th Feb 2022 10:06pm)
  • Cottage flats in g44 are a total steal, I would recommend! You get your own front and back garden too - pretty nuts for what you pay. Some folk can be a wee bit snooty about them but they’re a great size for two, and my OH was brought up in one as a family of four! Things are pretty wild out there property wise atm, wishing you much luck on any house hunting adventures. by BumblebeeYellowee (Mon 14th Feb 2022 10:10pm)
