  • I wore a blue scarf into town one day (blue is my favourite colour and I care not a jot for football.) Cashier in Primark said to me there was an Old Firm game that day and I should be careful. Brilliant. by CelticTigress (Wed 18th May 2022 8:45pm)
  • See! Wasn’t even thinking of football when I made my username by CelticTigress (Wed 18th May 2022 11:39pm)
  • No, but in fairness it was the perfect shade of blue and I was in the City Centre and directly outside there were quite a few gentlemen who had clearly partaken in numerous refreshments. So possibly just being paranoid, but I suppose better to be overly paranoid than under? by CelticTigress (Thu 19th May 2022 1:22pm)

  • I knew you were being sarcastic, but I had no better response than this. In fairness, I’m moving house and raising a husband and two kids, so give a girl some credit 🤣 by CelticTigress (Fri 10th Jun 2022 1:20pm)
  • I’m a hijabi and I always wear a mask indoors. Not had a comment about it as yet. by CelticTigress (Fri 24th Jun 2022 12:44pm)
  • Someone asked about how being hijabi was relevant and then I think downvoted my comment, but I think it’s been deleted. It’s relevant because it makes you stick out more, and makes you more of a target. by CelticTigress (Sat 25th Jun 2022 5:29am)
  • Went out to Glasgow on Christmas Eve and was totally puggled when I was done so decided to take a taxi home to Paisley. Called all the private hires and they were full, full, full. Spent about half an hour trying to grab a hack and managed to get one by pure dumb luck. So, while I’m aware that Christmas Eve and Boxing Day aren’t the same, I think either way it’s going to be uncertain if you will be able to get a cab home/how long you will have to wait. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favour! by CelticTigress (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 10:18am)
  • Yes, agree with this. We know what it is to be the underdog. Ahlan w sahlan, OP! by CelticTigress (Sun 10th Jul 2022 9:51am)
  • Don’t know if it applies down south, but the weather in Glasgow changes every 14.5 minutes (on average). You need to be open to every possible weather scenario at the drop of a hat. by CelticTigress (Wed 13th Jul 2022 12:12pm)

  • I am the mother of one such screechy wean and would be so relieved to know there’s somewhere people can go to avoid my beloved son’s excellent vocal chords. (Pretty sure I would treat myself to a meal there too so I do not have to listen to any screechy weans when my own is at home.) by CelticTigress (Sun 2nd Oct 2022 2:56pm)

  • Yes, think you are correct by CelticTigress (Wed 31st May 2023 1:13pm)
  • Yup, think that’s correct “The Main Building, which housed most of the exhibits, occupied an area of Kelvingrove Park between the River Kelvin and Sandyford Street which is now on the route of Sauchiehall Street. It featured a 170 ft high Dome erected on an iron framework covered in galvanised sheet iron. Four octagonal supporting towers around the Dome were made of brick, with minarets on top.” by CelticTigress (Wed 31st May 2023 1:11pm)
  • According to the Wiki article it is Neo- Gothic https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Òran_Mór by CelticTigress (Wed 31st May 2023 2:49pm)
  • I totally understand, it’s so different from today and I can’t find many other photos of the area to help contextualise it. I don’t think there’s any water in the photo, and on the left I think it’s one of the paths that leads up the hill to Park Circus. by CelticTigress (Wed 31st May 2023 3:51pm)

  • I take my son to Luigi at Salandini on West Prince’s Street. My son is small (and possibly autistic) and HATES having his hair cut and Luigi is always so patient and does a great job. by CelticTigress (Mon 17th Jul 2023 10:25am)
  • Not so. Some people will refuse to cut a child’s hair hair if they are upset. I took my son to a different hairdresser who literally spent a minute cutting his hair and then told me to bring him back in 6 weeks to do the same thing until ‘he got used to it’. Keep in mind my son was three at this point, had had countless haircuts and still hated it and cried the place down every single time. I tried cutting his hair at home, with clippers, with scissors, every way I can think of and it’s always the same. When you find a hairdresser who will help you get the job done and can understand that your child is just responding differently the whole thing is so much less stressful. by CelticTigress (Mon 17th Jul 2023 5:30pm)

  • Was pushing my kid on the swings in one of the big parks and this woman handed me something. I realise it’s an anti-vax pamphlet. Had to hold onto that rubbish until I could find a bin. Just leave me alone! by CelticTigress (Wed 9th Aug 2023 8:01am)

  • My husband once called me when I was at our house in another country. He was out and his brother had left his car keys at ours and could I take them out to him. I cover my hair and I’m already in my jammies, so the easiest thing to do is throw on the first set of prayer clothes I find, which happen to be white. I am also very pale-skinned. I think nothing of this at all. I walk out of the house and into the street and his two brothers are waiting for me, they see me and instantly freak out. Watching a man who is 6’3” jump and yelp like a puppy. by CelticTigress (Sun 27th Aug 2023 6:49am)
  • You know what? I was having a crappy morning and went for a walk to cheer myself up. And I took this photo and remembered I had one and thought it looked pretty cool for comparison, so I posted it. I’m sorry that you are so miserable you have to shit on everyone else. That goes for the other miserable one too. So, I hope your life gets better. Good morning to you by CelticTigress (Fri 1st Sep 2023 11:22am)
