A good place to start would be to wait for the issue to happen again and then take a note of the time. Then dig through the windows/system logs to see what happened just before and at that time. The only thing I've heard of is from my mum who works at the airport. There was an Asian man who was walking to his flight and my mum overheard her colleagues say "They protect themselves with masks after spreading it all over the world". Clearly idiots. But out and about in "normal" life I don't think you've anything to worry about. PS I agree with your thinking that you shouldn't just socialise with your ethnic group. Muslim man here. I don't consider myself very religious at all. Regardless I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry to hear about your struggle and I hope you find some peace somewhere somehow. For what little comfort it is, if I saw what could be assumed a Muslim girl with tattoos etc I honestly wouldn't care, I keep myself to myself and let others live their lives as they see fit. So while I absolutely understand why you're feeling anxious about being out and about (having your own car once you can arrange that will be a huge help!) I didn't think your post was charged, it just read like someone who is going through a really difficult time and the radical mindsets of others are making your day to day life difficult. Who wouldn't be frustrated in your position? Tbh in my opinion religion is a very personal thing between someone and whatever higher power they have faith in. So I totally agree with you about those who gossip or judge. Plus a lot of it will just be boredom. I also think a lot of these types of Muslims won't have fully integrated to society here.
