  • I’d second the DnD community, I don’t play myself as I’ve wayyyy too many hobbies already but people used to play in the bar I run on a regular couple of days each month. I have ADHD and need a reason to connect with people / meet up with friends which often means I’ve lost a lot of friends to time and distance. Dnd is a great excuse to get out the house or have people round to yours on a regular basis. by DavieJCampbell (Tue 29th Jun 2021 11:14am)

  • Have you had trouble getting your meds, up until recently I’ve had to fight with the pharmacist and GP every month to get them. Set up repeat prescriptions only to be stonewalled when picking them up every month. So frustrating, I’ve ADHD I can’t remember to eat breakfast let alone phone a doctors to organize a script a month away 😂 by DavieJCampbell (Wed 1st Sep 2021 12:40pm)

  • I work in hospitality and have for 20 years it seems to be more and more common to do this unfortunately. It really annoys me as well, hopefully people who do work in these places actually get the 10% and it isn’t being used to top up wages. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 1st Nov 2021 11:29am)
  • And now we’re in the situation that restaurants can’t get staff cause as the OP said it’s back breaking work for shit pay and a ton of people have left the industry because of that. Now, if you want to pay staff living wage in the UK and keep the business open restaurants would have to charge prices that would put the average customer off going to even the most average restaurant. Now we’re in a catch 22 situation. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 1st Nov 2021 11:48am)
  • Every job is nicer at 80% furlough. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 1st Nov 2021 4:59pm)
  • How often do you see seemingly successful independent restaurants that pay their staff minimum wage go under, pretty often. Paying staff more per hour wouldn’t be an issue but for the fact increasing rent, tax, rates, minimum alcohol pricing and the countless other mandatory government requirements has crippled the hospitality industry. Stop blaming business owners who are creating jobs and blame the government that’s made it impossible to expand or even survive long term with their red tape. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 1st Nov 2021 9:37pm)
  • I completely agree, but they’re not, they’re subsidizing the government. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 1st Nov 2021 9:49pm)

  • Really depends what area your looking at, I moved over lock down and got a place in the east end for home report but when putting offers in on south side and west end I was out bid sometimes up to 25% over (which is nuts) I think 10% is pretty standard by DavieJCampbell (Thu 4th Nov 2021 8:37am)

  • Pretty sure Remembrance Day is to pay tribute to ordinary folk who’ve died in armed conflict, not fetishizing the machines that killed them. That said next year I’d love for them to have a King Billy riding a tomahawk missile. by DavieJCampbell (Sun 14th Nov 2021 10:53pm)

  • As someone with ADHD I can tell you that this is nonsense, kids with adhd can still learn thats actions have consequences. • Yeah but for the most part retail and supermarket staff aren’t working till midnight and dealing with drunk self entitled rude arseholes. Not aimed at you, just saying the jobs aren’t comparable. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 27th Jun 2022 9:42am)
  • Very true, Karen’s are a nightmare but again not the same as dealing with some weekend warrior after 6 pints and two lines & the inappropriate shite the girls have to deal within hospitality is total bullshit but they get minimum wage so I guess that’s cool. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 27th Jun 2022 10:35am)
  • They just deserve more compensation in general. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 27th Jun 2022 10:40am)
  • They just deserve more compensation in general. Edit: healthcare workers are criminally underpaid I didn’t start making comparisons between different jobs OP did. You could “what about such n such” forever, it’s a crap argument. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 27th Jun 2022 10:54am)
  • Sorry to hear that man, pure shite patter all round then. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 27th Jun 2022 11:25am)
  • No, but they are a big reason that people take jobs in hospitality and tolerate those situations. It’s whataboutism again, Police, bouncers, bus drivers, they shouldn’t have to deal with that shit either but police and bouncers are trained professionally to deal with hostile alcohol related situations (I’ve no idea what training bus drivers receive) & none of them are on minimum wage by DavieJCampbell (Mon 27th Jun 2022 12:26pm)
  • Sounds shite, hope you made it to somewhere better. by DavieJCampbell (Mon 27th Jun 2022 3:55pm)

  • I’m in bridgeton as well, if they put as much effort into keeping the local area nice rather than sticking up flags, actually sectarian flags this year ffs, we’d all be better off, as it stands they’re more preoccupied with their fathers sash than actually having a nice living environment by DavieJCampbell (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 1:58pm)

  • The phrase is more associated with loyalist paramilitaries groups, it comes from (as far as I’m aware) various songs referring to the siege of derry. I don’t think The Boss was in the UFF but I might be wrong. by DavieJCampbell (Sun 3rd Jul 2022 7:10pm)
  • That’s what I kind of liked about it 😂 by DavieJCampbell (Mon 4th Jul 2022 6:39am)
  • Using a phrase that in this region of the world is almost exclusively used my terrorist paramilitaries and hard line loyalists is sailing pretty close to the wind imo. If you walked through Govan Hill or another historically Irish area and the flags on the lampposts said “up the ra” or “Tiocfaidh ár lá” on them would that be considered non sectarian as well? by DavieJCampbell (Tue 5th Jul 2022 10:12am)

  • 100% with you mate it’s the restaurants fault, but workers in restaurants are for the most part not on living wage and the majority aren’t unionized. Minimum wage = minimum work, you think some guy in McDonald’s or Morrisons or whatever gives a fuck if half your orders missing, nope. by DavieJCampbell (Thu 14th Jul 2022 10:46am)
