  • It's spam. You haven't mentioned anything about what it is, what it's for or given any sort of incentive for anyone to waste their time with it. by DuskytheHusky (Mon 7th Jan 2019 12:22pm)

  • The fact that the last time it happened, she stumped up a huge amount of cash at short notice suggests that it's entirely intentional and she's either saving up, or being bailed out by someone. I don't want to suggest daddy...but...at least someone of that age. Punt her ASAP. You've been accommodating enough, and look where that got you. Shitty people often look lovely on paper. by DuskytheHusky (Fri 19th Jul 2019 1:35pm)
  • She might be, but then she stumped up the cash last time didn't she? If a lot of her stuff is gone already, then she's probably not coming back. I had someone do that to me years ago too, by the time I finally went into her room to see, she was long gone. Never seen her since. by DuskytheHusky (Fri 19th Jul 2019 1:48pm)

  • Same at every concert they've done this tour. Amazing that it's still successful, I read several threads on it at the other UK venues and spent a lot of time checking my pockets. by DuskytheHusky (Sun 19th Jan 2020 1:14am)

  • Ah, sorry I misread. I agree with you! One from back home I used to hear a lot was "am are" instead of "I am". Imagine the advert - "am are an Iams cat" by DuskytheHusky (Mon 16th Mar 2020 1:44pm)
  • Haha, there is one on r/Edinburgh too, who started his own mental sub of r/EdinburghOvertourism or something like that. Absolute roaster. by DuskytheHusky (Sun 21st Jun 2020 4:38pm)
  • HOLY SHIT I've never seen that one before! by DuskytheHusky (Fri 26th Jun 2020 2:29pm)
  • This is total bollocks. As I posted in the other sub that OP posted this in: I have family in the police, in that part of the world. The three deaths were reported *by the police* first, then to Whitehall, and then all of the news outlets ran the story. As they should. There is an irony in a publication like the National not doing its fact checking whilst 'blasting' another outlet for the same thing. by DuskytheHusky (Mon 29th Jun 2020 4:48pm)
  • You're right, my apologies. It was posted in r/UK too and I mistook you as having posted it there. That's not to say this article isn't total crap though. by DuskytheHusky (Mon 29th Jun 2020 5:42pm)
  • It's total shite. Literally, much as I hate the term, 'fake news' by DuskytheHusky (Mon 29th Jun 2020 8:12pm)
  • Sorry dude! by DuskytheHusky (Mon 29th Jun 2020 8:12pm)
  • > in their finest le coq sportif clobber That's one thing that I particularly enjoy about Glasgow town centre. When people go shopping on Buchanan St, why do you see so many women dressed up in their finery to go round the shops, and why often accompanied by lads wearing a full matching tracksuit? Is it the ned equivalent of their Sunday best? You don't get that particular sartorial approach in *any* other city I've been to in the UK, to the extent it's almost a meme at this point. by DuskytheHusky (Sun 30th Aug 2020 7:34am)
  • Noted ;) I always find it funny that my FIL turns his nose up at a free Heineken straight from the fridge, and brings his own room temperature Budweiser by DuskytheHusky (Tue 1st Sep 2020 4:57pm)
  • Thinking back, that was run pretty well at our school eh? The Stirling bus goes at X from Y. 2 double deckers full of schoolkids means probably 100 fewer X5s outside the gates by DuskytheHusky (Tue 1st Sep 2020 5:00pm)

  • DELETED I doubt that the drivers for money laundering accusations are based on the race or nationality of the owners. It's more that mostly cash businesses that (theoretically) shouldn't have that much of a market seem to do *very* well, and stay there for years. Ice cream shop in Rome? Fair enough. Glasgow? Seasonal at absolute best. Then throw in all the money spaffed on fireworks, a DJ, models and a bunch of cars? You can almost guarantee that it was all paid for in cash. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...it's probably a money laundering duck by DuskytheHusky (Sat 4th Sep 2021 12:14pm)
  • Good insight, and I was wrong to describe it as just an ice cream shop. I looked for the shop online and couldn't find it, I'll bin the comment since with that context - it is probably not appropriate. by DuskytheHusky (Sat 4th Sep 2021 1:04pm)
  • Interesting, and my apologies if I misconstrued having read other comments saying it was an ice cream shop. I Googled the name that the top comment mentioned, and couldn't find any more details at all. My mistake. by DuskytheHusky (Sat 4th Sep 2021 1:03pm)
  • > we were grown men by 15 Ha by DuskytheHusky (Sat 4th Sep 2021 1:05pm)
  • Any idea if they have a website or if the top comment is misspelled? I want to look into it now! by DuskytheHusky (Sat 4th Sep 2021 1:12pm)
  • Fair play mate. On the ice cream shop front (pardon the pun), through in Edinburgh I know a bloke (older lad, in his 60s) who we all know is in the drugs trade in some capacity. His portfolio of businesses includes 3 second hand 'prestige' car sales places, an ice cream shop, 2 sunbed places and a local bookies... by DuskytheHusky (Sat 4th Sep 2021 1:25pm)

  • Except it doesn't taste like Diet Irn Bru, that's just a tiresome trope at this point. It doesn't taste exactly like the full sugar one did, but it's not far away. by DuskytheHusky (Thu 11th Nov 2021 9:35am)
  • > It’s a million miles away It's not, and any more than a second's thought would make a person see that. They just reduced it to FOUR teaspoons of sugar in a can, they didn't swap it for sweeteners or remove it entirely. > It tastes like fuckin balls It just doesn't. Just imagine that as a commercial decision from one of the most loyal and protected brands on the planet: "this taste like absolute shite" "perfect! let's sell it" by DuskytheHusky (Thu 11th Nov 2021 11:07am)
  • To be fair, the Dundee case is oft cited on threads like this but has a crucial difference that makes it unlike most scenarios. The girl admitted she parked there, refused to stop and ran up enormous fines knowingly. Entirely her own fault. by DuskytheHusky (Wed 17th Nov 2021 11:03am)

  • > not harming anyone pal Unfortunately, that's the trope every time someone wants to sell something. Not only is Reddit not the place to advertise for your shop, it's also being done disingenuously. There is also a rule in the sidebar about No Advertising. by DuskytheHusky (Thu 25th Nov 2021 5:12pm)

  • Used to work the doors from 2004-2009, and we'd all be fighting over shifts for the T in the Park weekend. City became ned free for a full weekend, and everyone else seemed to have a great time going out. Definitely some confirmation bias there, but the difference those weekends was stark. by DuskytheHusky (Thu 23rd Nov 2023 8:34am)
