Although if you don't get close to your flat there's spaces spotted all over the court. Good move btw it's pretty quiet here. and we're next to a police station so fuck all happens bam wise. by Edifer454 (Sun 6th Jan 2019 10:09pm)

In the car back I said we'll no be back and she said you'll be glad i didn't have a gin those were £9. Wtf are these prices all about. Unreal robbery by Edifer454 (Fri 19th Jul 2019 12:55pm)

  • This morning I'm changing it up. I'm heading to the butchers for bacon and decent eggs. The eggs will be poached however I can't decide between croissants or bagels. Im nervous about straying away from the classic Morton morning roll but I'm old enough now to make changes in my life. by Edifer454 (Sat 12th Oct 2019 9:52am)

It's also really handy for public transport if you're looking to get in and out of town quickly. by Edifer454 (Sat 19th Oct 2019 6:44pm)

  • The Gorbals, or should I say "The New Gorbals" We bought our house in the new gorbals about a year ago and it's one of the best decisions we made. To start with it's 10 maybe 15 minutes walk to the city center, the whole area has been completely revitalised with a whole medical building and and shops. The house prices are absolutely fantastic which is only increasing with the big new retail park being built behind the citi and building. In the year we've been here we haven't seen a single act of crime. Aye there's still the odd smack head but that's no different to any other of Glasgow. by Edifer454 (Thu 31st Oct 2019 12:45pm)
  • We've booked there for our wedding party! It's a cool venue and the staff are great. by Edifer454 (Wed 6th Nov 2019 11:10pm)
  • I'm with you! My wife and I still go and we absolutely love it. We're hitting 30 and it's the best night out for us. You can't beat belting out all the old classics. We mostly just get drunk before we go then spend the entire night on the dance floor. I don't think we'll stop going tbh It's either for you or it isn't by Edifer454 (Tue 12th Nov 2019 8:27am)
  • Car got broken into last night. They didn't get anything of worth except an old phone in keep charged up for music and podcasts that's thankfully tracked and locked. The really weird thing is they left a gift bag with a card and a candle set for somebody's 30th. On top of that they tidied a few things away in my glove box. I think I got robbed by the nicest bam ever by Edifer454 (Thu 14th Nov 2019 3:26pm)
  • You can't get them in Glasgow to the best of my knowledge. They are my favourite haribo ever. My German mate brings me back a bumper pack every time he goes home. I only have one pack left and he's moved home. You can get them online at a higher price. That might be worth a try. by Edifer454 (Thu 14th Nov 2019 6:49pm)

  • Prague would have been a contender but unfortunately the Mrs was there with the girls a few months back! We did berlin this time last year and it was the coldest place I've ever been so that's off the cards and we've done Poland! Thanks for the reply! by Edifer454 (Sat 30th Nov 2019 3:55pm)
  • I'd be having a word straight away. I'd advise them that you have direct debits and mortgage/rent that has to be paid on time or it will grossly effect your credit score and could also put your living arrangements in a difficult situation. After that initial chat and you're still not paid on time you should contact the citizens advice bureau to see what could be done. You could even tell your employer this in the hopes it puts the boot in him/her. Worse case is you find a new job where your hard earned cash isn't withheld from you. by Edifer454 (Fri 6th Dec 2019 5:47pm)

  • We bought our house in the new gorbals last year and we've never been happier. To start you are 15 minutes to the center of town, 5 if you take a next bike from outside the gym. Which is actually a banging gym with great classes, a pool, steam room and sauna. Driving you can be on the motorway in about 5 minutes. There's also a big new retail park being built behind the road Citi building similar to the forge. Which I think is going to be a drive to the area. Houses prices are reasonable as fuck. If you have any questions feel free to pm! by Edifer454 (Tue 10th Dec 2019 9:29pm)

Turned out to be a class pub. 2 cocktails and 2 shots came to £12.50 and had a good mix of tunes on. It's defo a shout if you're looking for a place to chat and get a bit pished by Edifer454 (Wed 8th Jan 2020 2:56pm)

  • My wife's p30 pro got bumped out my pocket last night! I found the case on the floor and waited at lost and found but no luck, got home and did find my phone and traced it to the radison blue on Argyle Street then when we played the sound they turned it off. We're both absolutely gutted. Police have been phoned and now off to buy a new fucking phone. by Edifer454 (Sun 19th Jan 2020 12:52pm)
  • There was easily 30 phone cases by the very end. I held out just incase hers showed up but no luck. I didn't take my phone out at all but she took a few pics and then put it back in my pocket and then about 20 mins before the end it was gone. My phone, my vape and my 4g WiFi dongle didn't get touched so I'm thinking they've spotted her taking a picture and it going back in my pocket and targeted me. I was so fucking sure I didn't lose it. I've never lost a phone in a pit in 15 years of gigs and somehow lose hers. We've just begrudgingly bought a new p30 pro. Ticket price, pints and a new fucking phone has us now out of the guts of a grand. by Edifer454 (Sun 19th Jan 2020 2:07pm)

  • Nah you don't need a tutor. There's a never ending amount of content online to teach you. You can I learned the ukulele from YouTube and a few tab websites. There's no better time to learn than now. by Edifer454 (Wed 1st Apr 2020 11:16pm)
  • Our washing machine AND our oven both broke over the weekend. This was probbably down to the amount of washing and cooking we've been unfortuantely doing so a new one is coming today. Argos are delivering new ones today but we feel like massive pricks having large items delivered but what can we do. Just to put some incing on our lockdown cake our fucking shower broke this morning as well. Fuse blew and now everytime we turn it on it shorts the main fuse in the lecky cupboard. Anyone know if we can still get people out to fix stuff? Buy a house they said it's cheaper they said. Cheerio wages by Edifer454 (Thu 2nd Apr 2020 12:04pm)
  • Strava is class! I use(d) it all the time for hillwalking. We used it during our trek through the moutains of serbia and montenegro sometimes fucking miles from any cell tower and it still recorded our location and now we have really cool maps showing us exactly where we were and can google maps for a bit of rreminiscing by Edifer454 (Thu 2nd Apr 2020 12:08pm)
  • It's on the cards when this all blows over and the cost of a sparky to come out and check everything might be pricey. We're new homeowners so we're still getting used to the sink in funds when things go wrong. by Edifer454 (Thu 2nd Apr 2020 3:20pm)

  • Tabletop sim is what you're looking for! There's a huge amount of free content on the steam workshop that you can download and just read up on rules. The workshop content can be a little bit janky so stick with it. Last I checked it was half price on steam at £7.They also have their own paid content dlc with fully fleshed out games. I'd recommend secret hitler, superfight and munchkin. A second option would be Jack box party. Only one person has to have the game and everyone else connects on a browser. Mobile or pc work fine! by Edifer454 (Wed 8th Apr 2020 12:01pm)
  • Ooft, even after the way they treated staff? It was hard enough drinking a pint in there during brexit but after this lockdown I'd rather pay a wee bit extra knowing the money is going to be helping a business that actually struggled during this madness. by Edifer454 (Wed 8th Apr 2020 12:05pm)
  • That is a valid point however I feel that the fact they put profits ahead of staff in the midst of a global pandemic is enough to warrant a widely observed boycott. Its not the first time they've been a shower of bastards and it won't be the last. If we don't try for change now when do we? by Edifer454 (Wed 8th Apr 2020 12:49pm)

  • There's parking everywhere. Town is pretty much dead so you won't have an issue finding a space most places in the center. Parking fees have been waved so the city is your oyster when it comes to parking. Go daft. Park where your heart desires. by Edifer454 (Sun 26th Apr 2020 10:39am)
  • Finally. I live in Hutchesontown and during non lockdwon circumstances our area is packed with people dumping there cars and walking into town. We have own car park at our flats and it's been pretty much empty since the lockdown came into place. They've also recently changed parking at the Gorbals gym because people were buying a £15 a month gym membership and just using the car park. by Edifer454 (Thu 30th Apr 2020 2:31pm)

  • LIved in Govanhill for a year right in heart of Alison street. It was a fucking circus. The kids from the flats around us would look through our letterbox, ask for food, televisions, xbox's you name it they'll ask for it. My girlfriend at the time got jumped by 3 men in our close they went through her handbag only to take the Korma sauce she had popped out to buy. Kids hang around the street corners constantly trying and sell you drugs. Rats bigger than dugs. I was only paying £200 a month for a 3 bed gaff so all in all it was worth it. • Absolutely. There's no balance to the city anymore. Everyone is working from home and the only people in town are the odd shopper, junkies and homeless people. I work on union Street and it feels like the middle of a rough scheme. by Edifer454 (Sat 17th Oct 2020 12:42am)

  • We bought our flat in the gorbals 2 years ago and we're honestly so happy we did. The gorbals for sure used to be an absolute warzone back in the day but since living here we've never seen any blatant crime, gangs of bams or anything like what it used to be. It's 5 minutes from town and there's a great wee community. With the addition of the new crown street retail park you don't have to go far to get anything you need. There's bad folk everywhere but the gorbals isn't what it used to be and it's worth renting or even buying! You'll pay £120k+ for the same size flat in the southside or pay about half for the gorbals which is closer to town and has great links to the motorway, trains and buses! If you have any orher questions don't hesitate to give me a wee PM by Edifer454 (Thu 19th Nov 2020 8:48pm)

  • I've cycled into town for years. Also moved onto the next bikes which ended up being a nightmare. One locked up on me mid cycle and I broke my arm hahah! I'm looking at the one wheel because it can go off road and that be class to take in the car and use it on some of the amazing walking paths we have. Using it to get into town would remove the £10 or so parking! by Edifer454 (Fri 27th Nov 2020 5:01pm)

What you've not thought about is all those people moving in and around the city. Jumping into corner shops to buy carry outs. The same corner shops the vulnerable need to use. • The wife and i finished watching "I May destroy Yoy" last night and i feel absolutely everyone needs to watch it. As we move out of lockdown and we eventually open the pubs it's going to be crazy. A year without social/sexual interactions can make people go to scary places wihtout them realising it. We need to look out for each other in very different ways. Even if it's not your type of show give it a go. by Edifer454 (Thu 25th Mar 2021 10:39am)

  • We have her on those and she goes to the vets every 3 months as part of our insurance plan however she still got a bad bout last summer. I was hoping there was another level of protection other than regular bombs in the summer. • A lot of people here are saying they have 5G but i think it's worth noting that a lot of phones have now updated to show 5G connection but it's actually a higher 4G frequency that's faster. If you check your speed when it shows 5G it'l only pull slightly above average 4G speeds. You only get decent 5G near the actual masts which Glasgow hasn't rolled out much of yet. You can get it great up near the airport. by Edifer454 (Tue 1st Jun 2021 11:25pm)

  • The wife and I have been on the Hello Fresh for 3 months now and i can't recommend it enough. It's completely cut out the need to jump into the coop for a quick scran, then buying a few munchies for chilling in the evening. I personally love cooking but my wife isn't a huge fan but that's changed after getting used to hello fresh and the simple instructions. The meal options are pretty good and for the amount we pay I've not had a dinner i haven't been satisfied after eating it. Cooking is also a class way to get your brain going and boost your MH. Stick on your favorite album and tan a wee can whilst cooking and you'll be surprised how good you feel after it. by Edifer454 (Wed 2nd Jun 2021 10:29pm)
  • Union Street /4 corners gets my vote. I work on union street and all the way through lock-down it has become an absolute jungle. The Macintosh hotel hosted a lot of the cities homeless and drug addicts which you'd think would be good but unfortunately they got kicked out of their rooms around 8am and didn't get back in until early evening. Every single shop doorway had groups of people openly dealing drugs, drinking, puking, pissing and fighting. Every day i'd arrive to a whole host madness left in the doorway. Cleaning up junkies puke and piss gets old real fast. The police presence was there but mostly just left them to it unless they started fighting which you can imagine was often. I really fear for the vibe of the city overall with a lot people choosing to work from home(rightly so) the daily buzz of people heading to work, the lunch time buzz for wee cafe's and shops and after work pints has pretty much gone. Cafe Wander for example used to be bursting at half 12/1 with all the office workies out for some scran. I was in the other day and it was dead. Poor guys have been at it for years, now that daily business is gone. I've no idea how we'll fix that and how businesses will cope moving forward but i'm hopeful the Glasgow i fell in love with comes back Other than union street that pishy lane up from MacDonald's trongate that takes you out out the car park is fucking hoachin. by Edifer454 (Thu 3rd Jun 2021 10:05pm)

  • If you do get I fixed I recommend buying a spigen case. I too buy curved screen phones and I've used a spigen on every single phone I've had and I've never broke the screen. I'd like to add I have a pretty active job and drop my phone constantly. Also the rubber like screen protectors are much better than the glass ones so pick one of them up if you can! I will add, it takes time to get used to the rubber feel screen protectors but ride it out. In the meantime download Bluestacks on your laptop or pc. It's an android emulator that you can sign into and use all your apps and can be a life saver! Especially if whatsaap is your main messenger! by Edifer454 (Sun 6th Jun 2021 6:18pm)
  • Was this not they guy who's hobby was visiting interesting public bathrooms? I mind seeing this a while back, maybe on r/Scotland by Edifer454 (Tue 8th Jun 2021 8:21pm)
  • I second this. City bar work can be brutal. Back when we could drink until 12 the last orders rush and then the cleaning up after takes you well past 1:30am, then getting up the road which will more than likely be a taxi. Getting that taxi is also a brutal because you end up queuing with every steamer in Glasgow also trying to get home. Get a wee local dive bar with easy customers and a quick clean up. It'll prepare you for any other bar work in the future. As this persons mentioned the tips in the city can be trash because most people are drinking on a budget. If you work in a wee local there's always that one guy with a fat wallet full of 20's who's happy to sling you a fiver every couple of rounds! The chat in a local is much better and you'll meet some really interesting people but also you'll meet fucking roasters that you get to kick out which will grow your confidence! Good luck and mind let the Guinness sit before serving it. by Edifer454 (Sat 12th Jun 2021 6:57pm)
  • The wife and I decided to patch the direct debit and pay what we owe on time evey month. Somehow that's been wrong a few times. We've overpaid 4 months then underpaid a few and each time we're paying the amount they tell us to. I honestly have no idea how much our council tax actually is at this point. I'm more pissed off paying it this year because so much of the cities money has been wasted on football idiots, failed school services, failed familiy & child support, roads, bins you fucking name it has been ignored. I'll pay it but I'll fuckin complain about paying it by Edifer454 (Mon 14th Jun 2021 9:09pm)

  • Get absolutely stuck in. I'm 31 and I went to KG skatepark for my 30th with a mate after not being on a board in easily 15 years and it was class. I bailed a million times trying to curve the bowl at least once before leaving. A few skaters were giving me tips and when I finally did curve they gave a wee cheer. It was a proper mental health boost. It'll be rough at the beginning so I suggest buying a semi decent board and popping over to KG mid afternoon when it's quieter and just learn to roll about and go down the small ramps. No dropping in yet! Getting the ollie down is your next goal which will be frustrating for a while but when you nail it you've opened the door to learning all the other stuff. As for your aching bones... Its rough lol. I was done in the day after but it's like being sore after the gym just keep at it. You'll meet sound people easily too and that can also be great if you've had a rough lockdown! by Edifer454 (Thu 17th Jun 2021 9:33pm)

  • Please stop doing this. That parking is for us here in the gorbals not so you can nip into town and pass off parking. Pre pandemic this was an absolute nightmare. I'd have to park my car a street away because of commuters dumping their car and next biking it into town. Which also left all of us with no parking spaces or next bikes to use. Its soon to be all changed to parking permit which should hopefully stop it. Best place to park is NCP behind St Enoch - £7ish for like 7 hours by Edifer454 (Fri 23rd Jul 2021 9:31pm)
  • BRGR beside Goma. £9 double bacon cheese burger with sweet potato fries and a can of lemon fanta. Rishis - 61 bath street. Absolutely unreal South Indian scran super cheap. The chicken dosa is a belter! Customery Shawarma King recommendation. A personal favourite of mine is max's bar. £5 burger and fries options are amazing and they do a class pint. Bier halls 2-4-1 pizzas all day every day. Get stuck into the black pudding and fried egg pizza. One I wouldn't usually mention but for something a bit more spice boy. Vodka Revolution on a Sunday is really good. Reasonable food prices and half price cocktails! The wife and I usually sit for a few cocktails and a before heading elsewhere Dury Street - Good food and beers and a cool place to chill. China seas - A favourite Chinese restaurant of mine. I commute from gorblas to town and it seems like the perfect way for me to get into town but the police issue has put me off! • Now that Cop26 is over there's not a single police officer to be seen in town. I left my work last night on union Street and when I opened my door there were 2 junkies sitting at my door. One completely passed out and the other shaking him saying he's taken too many blues and he'll no get into his accommodation. I'm sick to back teeth of the blatent drug deals and junkies and nothing being done. I've watched police sit in their cars whilst junkies are doing deals and they won't even get out the car. rebel rebel packed up and left after 13 years on the street because it was just too much. Poor guy had his windows smashed, broken into, customers hassled. you name it. Luckily I'm underground but that doesn't stop junkies randomly coming into the venue or harassing customers waiting to come in. Rant over. Now to head in and see what madness awaits me. by Edifer454 (Wed 17th Nov 2021 1:48pm)

The subreddit gets an absolute ton of new to glasgow posts and with most people being on mobile they don't use the side bar. • I'd have to disagree with that. It's definitely a souls game and there's no doubt about that. The open world changes it completely. It feels like it's never ending with interesting things to do round almost every corner along with fresh combat mechanics and new play styles. Graphically it's a million times better than any souls game and by far the biggest game they've ever done. What were you expecting from the game that you think would have made it special? by Edifer454 (Fri 25th Feb 2022 1:08pm)

  • A good shout will be the fruit markets up Vicky Road and on Alison Street in Govanhill. I used to get them this time of year on my way to work. They are very popular so they tend to go early if they have them! by Edifer454 (Fri 17th Jun 2022 12:46pm)

  • Town has a really relaxed feel about it today. All the orange cunts are hungover and the Calvin Harris crew are nursing comedowns. Wish the city felt like this all the time. by Edifer454 (Sun 3rd Jul 2022 1:30pm)
  • Probably, I'm assuming you're pushing this into a race argument in place of this being a bigotry and sectarianism issue. Which in this case is well documented to be the roots of these marches. Also using the term "orange cunt" can't be misconstrued into anything else as the name of the members are Orangemen and are quite clearly cunts. by Edifer454 (Sun 3rd Jul 2022 6:05pm)

  • DELETED It's been the youth's local hang out spot since lockdown. It's getting wilder and wilder every week. I'm all for the young yins going out for a sly bevy in town but it's getting to the point where they're just trashing St Enoch square everyday. Saw a young lassie whitey on her new AF1's on my way home on Saturday night. She must have been on the soups because it as bright green! • Firstly, sorry to hear about the situation you're in. Get yourself done to your local gurdwara. The sikth community will welcome you with open arms and absolutely 0 judgement. They offer free meals every day to people in need. • My wife and I were there for the first time last week and I don't think it's worth the £20. For starters you only get 1.5 hours. The steam room was pretty crap and didn't get up to temp the whole time. The plunge pool is also gash and only has jets coming out one part of the seat. There's a weird bucket thing that fits 1 person. Finally 2 saunas that were actually alright. I've been going to JD gyms in the crown Street retail park which has a pretty kitted gym and and a really good suana in the changing room. £22 a month. by Edifer454 (Thu 27th Apr 2023 10:33pm)
