  • I love reading this, thank you! The nightlife and general culture in Ireland is dire and only getting worse...I am so eager to be able to actually live near the city where amenities are! Communities are so poorly planned in Ireland - it's tough. by ElJayMoon (Mon 5th Jul 2021 10:31pm)
  • Incredible insight. Definitely would not consider working between cities but great to know for events that all could be done in a day! by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 6:59am)
  • Noting!! Thank you- researching and will note to visit for sure! by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 7:03am)
  • I hadn't even considered the tourist piece before posting here but Dublin feels the same to me too. Would it be worse than here, would you know? by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 7:02am)
  • Noting locations! Thanks so much 😄. How long have you been in Scotland now, and we're you in Dublin before? by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 7:00am)
  • Craving a diverse crew here, that's for sure. I'm Canadian, in Dublin 8 years now and while I am seeing stronger multicultural representation, it's all very new and unsettled which leads to a duller society as a whole. by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 7:06am)
  • Great input, thanks so much!! by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 7:14am)
  • Love this input, thank you! by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 7:13am)
  • Yes, I started with job first as well - any move needs to be practical of course. I was really impressed with what I saw! by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 7:12am)
  • That's a DREAM. We bought a couple Christmases back to escape rent but we do not feel connected to the community at all and it just doesn't feel healthy. I'd love to be able to rent again for awhile and find "the community that's right for us" without the pressure of massively overinflated prices and housing market on the sale side being so ridiculously unaffordable even on quite decent wages. by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 7:11am)
  • Phew!! Thank you by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 1:32pm)
  • We do love the beach so, and in Ireland living anywhere near the sea is felt in the auld pockets pronto. We do drive, but prefer transit to avoid parking mayhem and to cut down on emissions. Are there, what we would call here, any "Park and ride" type facilities at stations? (Yes, the sexual innuendo was clearly lost on them when making this name) by ElJayMoon (Tue 6th Jul 2021 1:32pm)
  • Thank you!! by ElJayMoon (Wed 7th Jul 2021 6:53am)
  • Madness, but great news on the financial and general pain in the ass front. Thanks! by ElJayMoon (Sat 2nd Oct 2021 8:47pm)
  • Just direct Dublin to Glasgow! Sounds like all should be breezy 🤞 by ElJayMoon (Sat 2nd Oct 2021 8:58pm)
  • I am married and I absolutely insist on going to the cinema alone, theatre events alone, dining alone, going to gigs alone (especially raves!) and best of all - travelling alone! People seem to find this especially difficult to comprehend as I'm 33 year old woman nd have revelled in this joy since independence hit at 18. I hear everything from "wow that sounds so liberating" to friends and my own husband who can be borderline insulted. It's not that I don't love the people close to me, I just prefer to do what I want when I want without any opinions or sway. To just be me and my own existential dialogues. Open to mini-interactions I don't have to cling to. by ElJayMoon (Mon 11th Oct 2021 7:53pm)
