  • it's not an eviction by a landlord unfortunately by Elomite_ (Wed 4th Nov 2020 10:07am)
  • theyre off though thats what im saying, the noise team for the council is literally not working because of covid, I really dont want to phone the police on these two, they look like walking midlife crisis but my mental health comes before their short term ambitions of being rockstars or whatever by Elomite_ (Wed 10th Mar 2021 8:42pm)
  • DELETED they do tend to be known as priviledged arseholes though, and since theyre both renting from private landlords i know their landlords won't touch anything with a 10ft pole because all they care about is their paycheck. by Elomite_ (Wed 10th Mar 2021 8:53pm)
  • DELETED ur welcome to move into my flat mate if u think im being pissy by Elomite_ (Wed 10th Mar 2021 8:59pm)
  • i've spoken to the woman downstairs the other day she made up some shit about any and all noise being allowed until 11pm, which is just false information, even if what she was saying was true (it's not its like 30db is allowed between 7pm and 11pm), they play **well** past 11. If shes so confident to just blatantly lie to me i doubt shes gonna have much empathy by Elomite_ (Wed 10th Mar 2021 8:56pm)
  • this is what im worried about, i knocked on the roof b4 for the upstairs guy and hes just gotten louder and more frequent, some of the replies here make me feel like im nuts, when ur sandwiched inbetween two people who do this it makes u feel subhuman, like u dont even have the basic respect for me to give me peace and quiet by Elomite_ (Wed 10th Mar 2021 9:12pm)
  • On that last part, I'm as quiet as a mouse and I live alone i'm literally on my pc all day studying and I don't listen to music or whatever, hypothetically what could be used against me, or what are some examples from what you've seen? by Elomite_ (Wed 10th Mar 2021 9:21pm)
  • wouldn't it require evidence though? they would need to prove im doing something surely? literally all the police would have to do is open the close door and they'll hear a pomeranian barking, and come round at the right time to hear the instruments and the singing. Also the fact that i was previously homeless and i've lived here for over a year now have any factor in the matter? surely the average police officer has an interest in keeping people off the streets, these people have lived here for like 3 months by Elomite_ (Wed 10th Mar 2021 9:28pm)
  • Given the no dogs clause I would be mindful of your behaviour, If you piss off other tenants for other reasons, They'll likely use your dog as another on the pile of complaints they already have. A couple downstairs moved in a while ago with a dog, I love dogs and they even had the exact same breed of dog my as my family dog, Their dog rarely barked, However the tenants themselves were obnoxious and playing guitar/piano until 3 am for 5hours + most days, I knew no dogs were allowed as I specifically asked about having my family dog stay sometimes, And was denied. When my patience ran out, the dog was one of the first things I pointed out to their landlord as those people treated their flat like bandcamp. by Elomite_ (Thu 24th Jun 2021 7:18pm)
  • I've heard about this, I've been doing a few online courses but they're not "official" if that makes sense, Could I theoretically get a bachelor's degree equivalent from Open University? I honestly feel like i've wasted my time the past 2 years because of these unofficial style courses, No one would be willing to giving me a chance if I were to apply to a job, And they'd just gloss over me for someone with an "official" qualification by Elomite_ (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 1:13pm)
  • Waste is the wrong word; The uni have said validating the quality of these courses is a difficult process which is totally understandable. However, One of the courses i've completed is taught all across the world, It's very famous and it's a pretty advanced course. Which is a total let down, All these amazing resources are free online, Yet these jobs and places of education IRL are still totallly exclusive, It seems like an archaic filter system to weed out the wrong-uns. by Elomite_ (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 2:13pm)
  • Look mate I've been meaning to thank you for all you do for me, Unfortunately I am currently bleeding money because of these fuel prices and I can't repay you, But I'll come worship your feet. I'm quite funny as well I could be your personal jester. by Elomite_ (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 5:54pm)

  • Are you saying that people with years of work experience in the industry but no degree are not favoured in the same way someone with a degree is? by Elomite_ (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 6:12pm)
  • I've snooped on your profile, I'm also in CS my concern is now about hiring, Was getting your first job in the industry easy with an OU degree? by Elomite_ (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 6:10pm)
  • Thanks for the advice, I spoke to the uni ppl on the phone and they said it could be likely that I could get the money But the upper limit would be around £13k, which I think would cover everything and I could do it without any housing benefit, But rn it's something I'm unsure of as I've lived here for nearly 3 years now and I feel so safe, I've lived in shitholes, I literally lived in the Ches Nouz its right next to Glasgow Uni, and the thought of going back to a place like that terrifies me. The council tax thing seems like a mixed bag, Some are saying students dont need to pay at all. I need to get in touch with a proffesional but Citizens advice is so tied up rn, And welfare rights advisors were all incapable of doing anything last time i checked because WFH, even basic advice It does seeem like you were in this weird grey area, Because from what I read, it was possible to retain ESA while in uni, But everything is so complicated man its so frustrating by Elomite_ (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 7:01pm)
  • Yeah It's just legislation, Which is really just words on a piece of paper, That's really all it is. All those deprived coastal towns that are now barren wastelands due to her policies could simply just be fixed with willpower. Being born into deprived areas inside the rank 1 SIMD town is just the same as being born into a rich family that handhold you through life. After all, they asked everyone in those industrial towns; Do you want to be the most deprived areas in Scotland? And they all gave a resounding "YES!". Or maybe, just maybe your view is a bit slanted here. by Elomite_ (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 7:13pm)

  • You need to pay 250 a week to live in a room a quarter the size of most uni dorms, the room i was in was maybe 2m * 7m and i lived there for 7 months until I complained about a rat eating the only food I could have which was fruit. It was better to stay unemployed and have the housing benefit cover the cost of the room. It's impossible to hold down a job while homeless, You have a curfew as well so any nightshifts would be automatically ruled out. Do everyone a favour any don't comment on matters you clearly know nothing about. by Elomite_ (Tue 5th Jul 2022 7:03pm)
