  • By all means. There is one of the guys who comes that brings his PS4. The good thing nowadays is that Sony allows cross platform play, so for example you can play Rocket League with people on pc which is pretty cool. We have a projector set up throughout the weekend which sometimes has a ps4 connected to it which I bring or it'll have a laptop connected to play Jackbox Party Pack which is normally great for a friday night after a few drinks. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 2:07pm)
  • Very good question. We actually have staff on hand throughout the whole event, so there's not a moment where the event isn't being watched. We have secure buzzer entry along with a camera at the door and we can lock the entrance gates for foot traffic and vehicles. This is our tenth year with 42 events under our belt ranging from 24 people to 96 people and it hasn't once been an issue. We also don't let anyone just randomly walk in and if spectators do some along they're issued a visitors pass so everyone can be tracked. Even attendees are given wristbands so no one that shouldn't be there is there. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 2:26pm)
  • 32 would actually be fine, unless it isn't some crazy old 32inch CRT monitor, you'd break the desk ;). I think each table is 1.6m with that being shared by two people, so you'd be golden! As I've said in another post in ten years and it being our 42nd event this upcoming LAN we've not had any issued with theft whatsoever due to having a team of staff who are all volunteers on hand through the event. Everyone does shift patterns so there's always someone there keeping an eye out. We've also got the secure entry along with camera at the front door and lockable entrance gates. We actually streamed the last even from the stage so the whole world is even keeping an eye out on peoples gear ;). by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 2:34pm)
  • The average age would be around mid to late twenties. Although the youngest age could be from 15 with the oldest being mid to late fourties. As for games that are played - our smaller events are more relaxed and chilled out, we don't have any tournaments so it's a case of playing what people want at the time and getting everyone involved in the same server. So these are games like Warsow, Unreal Tournament or PUBG. Basically if you've got a game you want to play and it's multiplayer we'll just let everyone know and we can all jump into a game together. Our big events (96 players) which are through in Falkirk normally consist of PUBG and Battlefield or whatever the community wants for the big games. Tournament wise we've had CSGO, Rocket League, Overwatch, LoL, Dota, Starcraft 2 to name a few off the top of my head. So basically the community shapes what we do and play really. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 2:31pm)
  • Hah hah, hey buddy, long time no see/speak. Hope you're doing well! I will be lanning until I die I think. So hopefully I have a good few years ahead of me with it. You should be getting yourself along as we're somewhat in your neck of the woods, even if it's just for half an hour to say hello :) . by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 3:23pm)
  • Very nice actually. I think there can at time be a stigma with gaming events being a smelly place. It is correct that folk don't shower for two days, however, we're not really moving much as we're sitting down the whole time so no smells created. Science. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 3:21pm)
  • That's my name! Who's this and how are you doing? by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 3:20pm)
  • Neither of them?! Alcohol is totally allowed, yes. We've also got a fridge for keeping it nice and cold. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 5:33pm)
  • 10 years, 42 events! Yeah, everyone is really chilled out. Even if you're new it almost instantly feels like hanging with friends, everyone is incredibly nice! by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 5:36pm)
  • I wear pretty tight jeans, so no baw sweat escapes from these bad boys. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 5:35pm)
  • Believe it or not they're still quite big. Although they seem to have shifted over to more serious eSports stuff, which is great and all but it loses the sense of fun and community. We played pretty much everything. If there's something we don't play and you want to play it then we can try and make it happen! CSGO, PUBG, Rocket League are always big things at our LANS along with things like LoL and Dota 2. We always have a sweet spot for Golf With Friends though. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 6:00pm)
  • There will be people playing Rocket League most likely at this event but not in a tourament way. At our big one in August through in Falkirk there will be a RL tournament :). by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 6:23pm)
  • I actually started playing Diablo 2 again at New year, that game is still amazing! by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 8:32pm)
  • If that's what you're into then by all means. We've got some of the mini retro consoles kicking about! by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 8:42pm)
  • Great patter. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jan 2020 8:41pm)
  • I know what you mean. Fps and I just don't mix these days but still fun to play, that's for sure! Should dust those files off! by GSPhreak (Wed 29th Jan 2020 12:23am)
  • Where are you based now? We've got another one in Falkirk and they're both the full weekend, Friday - Sunday. Basically everything, from CSGO to Rocket league. Whatever you want to play we will try and make it happen! by GSPhreak (Wed 29th Jan 2020 12:22am)
  • Oaft ta very much, I'll be sure to check that :D by GSPhreak (Wed 29th Jan 2020 10:03am)
  • Nice one, that's quite the distance though. Absolutely, nothing better than being on your home turf! You should check some of the LAN parties out over there though, some are huge!! by GSPhreak (Wed 29th Jan 2020 11:48am)
  • No problem. Glad that you're happy about it! Can't wait to actually be back and doing physical 48 hour events! by GSPhreak (Mon 27th Jul 2020 6:54pm)
  • There's already a ScotLan that was formed about two years ago? Although there was a ScotLan LAN before hand. We've been Gaming Scotland for 10 years as of this year. Before hand we were Gumpom! by GSPhreak (Mon 27th Jul 2020 7:15pm)
  • We can certainly throw it out as a suggestion to everyone however when we have tried to do it in the past it was quite a miss! by GSPhreak (Mon 27th Jul 2020 7:50pm)
  • We could try and wangle it in somewhere if needs be ;) . If not, we could always set up a games night at some point for it! by GSPhreak (Mon 27th Jul 2020 11:53pm)
  • Hope you have a good one! by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jul 2020 12:04am)
  • I'll get it downloaded again at some point! I'm currently living the village lifestyle until August, so I have village Internet aha. I'm sure there'll be a few good folk that'd be up for playing though. We're a friendly bunch! by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jul 2020 12:04am)
  • Would just like to say a big thanks to the very warm and lovely response from everyone. Really looking forward to this event :) . by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jul 2020 8:00am)
  • Hah Hah, I see what you're getting at but we gotta let them use it on the off chance. Our name actually works really well with search engine ranking, so that's one of the reason we've got it! Awesome, can't wait to see you there. Rocket League is always good fun and a good turn out. Really excited to see how halo goes down! by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jul 2020 1:24pm)
  • We do indeed, here's a timetable image [here](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/675283835184742400/737391055464431736/ACTUALSCHEDULE_copy.png)! Well we will be kicking about that whole weekend. So even if you don't own the games you're more than welcome to just come and say hello and do it a wee bit of socialising. by GSPhreak (Tue 28th Jul 2020 1:26pm)
