  • Having read through the "official" "guidance", I think its very unlikely anyone will be challenged regarding travel as long as they are not involved in some other dispute with the law. Travel outside your council boundary IS possible. I think everyone's mental health has suffered badly this time and the thought of another lock-down is too much to bear. I agree with the OP, we need to keep people safe but if we act in a measured and responsible way and take all precautions, I don't see how going for a bike ride or dog walk outside the city can risk catastrophe. Of course there will be numb-nuts that act irresponsibly but collective restriction and punishment is not the way forward. Besides, if 5K football fans can march down our streets, then I don't see a valid argument for staying within the city. by Glazermac (Tue 18th May 2021 1:48pm)
  • As an aside, you CAN travel to feed an animal.....Any animal. by Glazermac (Tue 18th May 2021 1:50pm)
  • Perhaps don't try to be Glaswegian. That is a particular "ethnicity" like cockneys and I would say you are either born into it or not. Be yourself and be part of "new" "modern" Glasgow. The old ways are fading. by Glazermac (Wed 19th May 2021 10:35pm)
  • For most people, who lack any interest in those "activities", they are fading. I've lived here for over 8 years and take no heed or interest of it. I guess it depends on your perception and ambition. by Glazermac (Thu 20th May 2021 3:37pm)
  • I really hope they announce a drop to 2 today. Really hope so. We managed to get away for a walking/biking trip to the Cairngorms but that's the only time we have left the city since November. Not sure how much more I can take to be honest. Yes, we need to ensure the virus is managed but look at the actual numbers of people in ICU's and I think we can draw the conclusion that the NHS is not going to be swamped. Locking an entire city down because of a few hotspots is not a strategy, its carpet bombing. by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 9:43am)
  • Its law though. I know its only a fine but still. by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 10:42am)
  • Have not heard or witnessed anyone being "blamed" specifically but that might just be my area. People not turning up for their vaccination however....That's not wise. by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 10:47am)
  • She has done well but I can't help thinking she plays Boris a bit too much over this. Whatever measures Boris takes, NS will be that little bit extra cautious. Then again, its Boris.... by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 10:46am)
  • This exactly. Working from home for over a year is bad enough. Being stuck in the city is unbearable especially if like me, you spend your weekends in the hills and forests. by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 11:07am)
  • I don't usually swear but FxxK this. Next week. Fxxking next week. Sick of this. by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 12:32pm)
  • Crying wolf.. Indeed. We all know there was a pandemic that could have claimed a lot more lives than it did and those measure they took have broadly worked. But I agree, enough. Let me take my chances by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 2:21pm)
  • Apparently you CAN go out of your council area to feed an Animal. If you take a look on the [scot.gov](https://scot.gov) web site.....It doesn't say you have to own or know the animal in question....Bag of nuts anyone? by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 3:56pm)
  • I have actually seen a few people loading their cars and heading off for the weekend. Guess a short walk in Pentlands isn't going to harm anyone.. by Glazermac (Fri 28th May 2021 4:01pm)
  • This is good. Free to explore the hills and forests again. by Glazermac (Tue 1st Jun 2021 2:38pm)
  • Thanks for the link. Rally for freedom....At some point we need to get back to "normality" but lets listen to the science not the populists. by Glazermac (Sat 24th Jul 2021 9:02pm)
  • Yeah, I thought I recognized the "speaker". I never took the time to learn her name but I think its the same failed human that got 40 votes during the recent elections. Oh well, another blow to the retarded. by Glazermac (Sat 24th Jul 2021 9:17pm)
  • Glaswegian is an ethnicity no? I've lived here for 10 years but I would never consider myself Glaswegian. I actually find it difficult understanding some Glaswegian accents but what interests me is the inclusion on Old English or Anglo Saxon in some of the vernacular. by Glazermac (Sat 24th Jul 2021 9:22pm)
  • Do I?. Ok... by Glazermac (Sun 25th Jul 2021 8:49am)
  • Well, I guess they will fade eventually but really, the levels of stupid being displayed around the globe these days is eye opening. I won't post anything more on the subject as free publicity only encourages madness. by Glazermac (Sun 25th Jul 2021 8:54am)
  • Yeah, pretty shocking but hopefully the city see's them for what they are. by Glazermac (Sun 25th Jul 2021 8:56am)
  • :D by Glazermac (Mon 26th Jul 2021 9:41am)
  • Dial 101 and let them deal with it. Don't let it stress you too much. by Glazermac (Wed 29th Jun 2022 6:56pm)
  • I understood that the new laws being introduced (in an albeit somewhat rushed and disorganized way), were aimed at reducing the spread and prevalence of public and online intimidation, hate speech, intolerance etc. In what way do a bunch of people martially parading through the streets of a city causing transport disruption and clearly sending a message of "you and us" not fit into at least one of those categories..... Then again, there are also the anti-vaxxers and that crazy dude that Baaa's at people and tells them how politicians are satanic. Freedom of expression and speech are tricky things to get right. by Glazermac (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 4:36pm)
  • Think the Police presence is there for everyone's safety but yeah, they have better things to be doing. by Glazermac (Sat 2nd Jul 2022 11:19pm)
  • Thanks for that. At least we know now. Guess money was tight back in the 70's as well. by Glazermac (Fri 5th Aug 2022 6:48pm)
  • Certainly a worrying prospect but I am always impressed by the inventiveness of bridge engineers to overcome such problems. by Glazermac (Fri 5th Aug 2022 6:51pm)
  • Have a look on trail forks. There are a couple of short but decent unoffical trails in Pollok that can be joined up for a decent ride. Not been to Cathkin for years. Didnt like it at all so never went back. Was hoping for Innerleithen but instead we got a more xc type set of trails. If you can get that far, I'd say Mugdock country park was better than all of the above. Trail-forks is your friend here :) by Glazermac (Mon 5th Sep 2022 3:25pm)
  • Thanks for the offer but we have our tickets already! Looking forward to it. by Glazermac (Mon 5th Sep 2022 3:32pm)
  • Witchhunt much? The guy has not been charged with anything so please put your guns away. Can't believe this irrational cancel culture mentally is still ongoing in some peoples heads. Men and women mess around with each other. As long as no one is actually physically or mentally irreparably damaged, so what? Its their lives. Remember that there are other people thousands in fact that are involved in a tour like this. Not going to the gig hurts everybody involved. by Glazermac (Mon 5th Sep 2022 3:32pm)
  • Enjoy! by Glazermac (Tue 6th Sep 2022 9:31am)
  • That's really appalling. I really hope your new home brings you peace. I guess the problem is kids do not fear their parents, teachers or indeed the police. No one has a solution for this it would seem. by Glazermac (Mon 19th Sep 2022 9:18am)
  • Yeah, had a quick look at their web site and decided against contacting their Bot. As Bluenosedcoop mentioned, its all down to costs. I will have a word with Cass Art. Expected better from them. by Glazermac (Wed 14th Dec 2022 6:29pm)
  • Yup, definitely "The Market" at work here so not surprised. by Glazermac (Wed 14th Dec 2022 6:27pm)
  • It could be. Thanks for the info! by Glazermac (Wed 14th Dec 2022 6:25pm)
  • :) by Glazermac (Wed 14th Dec 2022 6:29pm)
  • Truly :)) by Glazermac (Wed 14th Dec 2022 6:36pm)
  • Yeah, can hear it half way across the city. Have fun, but FFS why should everyone else have to listen to/be driven nuts by these outdoor gigs?????? This combined with the Arctic Monkeys sound testing. Grumpy of Glasgow. by Glazermac (Sun 25th Jun 2023 10:32am)
  • Thats a back alley with character. by Glazermac (Thu 3rd Aug 2023 10:30am)
  • That would be a decent start at least. by Glazermac (Thu 3rd Aug 2023 2:47pm)
  • Not a mad idea! A green space like that would add so much to the town center. by Glazermac (Thu 3rd Aug 2023 2:49pm)
  • Yeah, I'd read that somewhere.....Or heard it on a reliable new platform. Can't remember which one. by Glazermac (Thu 3rd Aug 2023 3:57pm)
  • I dont have time for a full reply at the moment but I'm pretty sure Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche would not have opened outlets had they felt Glasgow was lacking in wealth and potential for real growth. by Glazermac (Fri 4th Aug 2023 8:54am)
  • Me B-) by Glazermac (Fri 4th Aug 2023 1:31pm)
  • There are way too many of these idiots spouting off their insubstantial bullshit. Just as bad are the idiots that occasionally show up in George square thanking everyone for joining them in their "worship". There really should be action taken to prevent this nonsense. If I want to hear about "gods", I'll go to a church/mosque/whatever. by Glazermac (Sat 5th Aug 2023 3:28pm)
  • And now increasingly Africa. See more and more Africans spouting this garbage in the city centre. Apparently Africa is going to be the hub of the next big christian revival. Keep there. Please. by Glazermac (Sat 5th Aug 2023 3:30pm)
  • I was diagnosed with Gout at 27 and have been taking Allopurinol ever since. I got it prescribed so maybe go speak with your GP to kick things off. Not had a single recurrence of gout. by Glazermac (Thu 26th Oct 2023 10:07am)
