  • You must miss a lot of good bands if the Academy is on your blacklist. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 2nd Nov 2019 12:03pm)
  • Looking at your comment below it seems like you had a bad experience with an individual bouncer. That's very unfortunate, but to call it a totally shite venue because of that experience is a bit misleading. As an actual venue for music (acoustics, atmosphere, drink queues) it's probably second in the city behind the Barras. by HoraceDerwent (Sun 3rd Nov 2019 12:42am)
  • I've recently moved to the Govan area and I'm hoping to check out Connection BJJ. Nothing has been put on their Facebook page since August, but they appear to have renovated the gym over the last few months during closure. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 7th Nov 2020 6:59pm)
  • Yeah, those are fair points - I didn't really consider the fact they have have a small number of staff members. I hope the gyms don't close again for everyone's sake. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 14th Nov 2020 3:29pm)
  • Bellahouston Park is still walkable at night due to the lights from the traffic and just the lights from surrounding buildings in general. Plenty of dog-walkers and joggers as well so you never feel too isolated. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 14th Nov 2020 3:40pm)

  • Not for an uber, it's all done through the app which is linked to your PayPal or whatever you use. by HoraceDerwent (Mon 13th Jun 2022 6:08pm)
  • The price will vary based on demand. I'm sure you will be able to get an uber because there will be enough in the area, but no one can say what the cost will be right now. by HoraceDerwent (Mon 13th Jun 2022 6:05pm)
  • cool, thanks. I don't really use the subway that much so I wasn't sure if I could use the single ticket multiple times going the same way, as I'm never going to "return" to Hillhead. It's funny that a trip from Hillhead to St Enoch will cost X amount, but stopping at Cowcaddens on the way is going to double the price. by HoraceDerwent (Tue 6th Sep 2022 4:26pm)

  • Can you share why you are renting with a wife and 3 kids when you make 70k? by HoraceDerwent (Mon 10th Oct 2022 3:29pm)
  • I shouldn't have to be this pedantic, but for a significant amount of time you could get a 95% loan - so no, you didn't need at least 10% deposit. Yes, I have seen interest rates recently, did OP get married and have 3 children since interest rates went up last week? Give your head a wobble ya pretentious donut. by HoraceDerwent (Mon 10th Oct 2022 3:58pm)
  • Yeah, you need to evidence two years of self-employed income. Definitely a good chance to save, congrats on the big salary bump as well. by HoraceDerwent (Mon 10th Oct 2022 4:08pm)
  • you are just talking nonsense. You could get a 95% loan last year. Where are you getting 5 years from? You can say your piece all you like, because it's a load of pish. You sound incredibly angry and bitter about something that doesn't even concern you. Luckily OP is a normal person and explained it's because their salary has doubled recently and they are self-employed. by HoraceDerwent (Mon 10th Oct 2022 4:06pm)
  • Obviously he was planning on leaving it inside the door way. Especially with it being groceries. It's not like he was dumping a large takeaway pizza on your floor. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 7:40pm)
  • If you hadn't heard him knocking and he left it on the step and it got nicked, you would be on here starting a thread about how the Deliveroo man stole your order. He was trying to do you a favour. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 8:08pm)
  • 1) He doesn't know you are at home alone with a baby. 2) He would have opened the door, put the bag inside and closed it again. 3) Why did you feel the need to mention the fact that the guy was a foreigner? 4) You made this thread in the hopes everyone would agree with you. 5) This is a very Karen post. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 8:37pm)
  • He checked if the door was open, found that it wasn't and patiently waited until she answered. What do you think he was doing? by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 8:39pm)
  • 1) You brought up the "Karen" nonsense. Not me. 2) You don't know the definition of misogyny. At what point in my previous comments have I shown a dislike of women in any way? 3) You assume I'm a man because I have a different point of view. Interesting. 4) Yes, I have had parcels put inside my front door, especially when it is raining or looks to be something important. 5) Again, he wasn't trying to "enter your home". Give it a rest. 6) You still haven't answered why you needed to say that he was foreign. 7) I hope you don't call people pricks and tell them to fuck off while carrying your precious baby around. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 9:05pm)
  • This is not uncommon practice for delivery people at all. But yes, you have correctly estimated my age and gender because sometimes delivery people stick the bag of groceries inside the front door. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 9:55pm)
  • I post like a teenage boy because I mentioned the fact that delivery people sometimes put the parcel inside the front door? Do you think this is the first time in history a delivery person has tried this? Let me guess, it hadn't happened to you, so that means it never happens? Maybe you should think about why you post like a moron. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 10:07pm)
  • You obviously didn't read the original post. The guy knocked on the door. OP took a long time to answer. He checked the door, found that it was locked and then continued to wait patiently before she eventually answered. OP then said he could have just left it on the step. I said if he did that and it was stolen, she would blame him for that as well. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 10:37pm)
  • It happens to plenty of people. That is why it is not uncommon. It's also why OP has deleted the original post, because people were disagreeing with her. This delivery guy knocked on the door and waited, then checked if the door was open, and then continued to wait until OP answered. How nefarious of him. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 11:17pm)
  • Ehh, the people in this thread who have said it happens to them? It is has been common practice in the places I have lived. I can't give precise numbers unfortunately because I don't really ask people about their delivery habits in social situations. It doesn't make for stimulating conversation. You are correct. I don't have any life experience because sometimes there is a parcel in my front hall with a little smiley face drawn on it. I should get out of this bubble as soon as I can. Your dogs sound lovely. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 11:31pm)
  • I said it's not uncommon. I didn't say it happens to everyone and I'm not ignoring anything. I can perfectly comprehend that not everyone has had this happen to them, and I've never claimed otherwise. The person I originally responded to said something along the lines of "trust me, this is absolutely not something that is happens," and I said maybe it is not something that happens to you. This whole thread is a joke really. Either something must happen to everyone or it must not happen at all. Quite pathetic the number of people who are genuinely angry about hearing other people's experiences. OP went on some sweary tirade and started getting threats via private message. All over a Deliveroo driver trying to give her some bread and milk. I bet he's sound asleep at home with a smile on his lips knowing that he gave a new mother her goodies without incident. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 15th Oct 2022 11:44pm)

  • It's a massive card and the timezone means it is on in prime-time in Europe. Only a few have been on Box Office. Quite annoying for me as I can get a decent group together for a big boxing match, but I don't really want to spend 20 quid to watch UFC alone. by HoraceDerwent (Sat 22nd Oct 2022 1:18pm)
