  • Yea Wallace street flats are rough. There's hookers, drug dealers, people getting shoot up on the stairs, even reports of blood on the walls from junkies taking a hit on the stairs. now there's even a shit load of trouble with guys selling shit from their flats as well. The price is always attractive, heck the penthouse was on offer for for s good 176k back in 2016. Those flats basically were built to attract young city workers and their families, but it ended up going to a mix bag of drug dealers, families and investors. The families and investors then couldn't sell the property cause of the drop in property prices...they literally were stuck in the hellhole. Most of the families and investors have now moved out...better still renting out the flats to naive international students who find the place cheap and easy to book. But when they arrive, they realise the Horror. You will struggle to sell but you could get away with renting...my advice...don't do it. It's a horrible place and unfair to any tennants you get. I really hope the council and police get involved and tear that place down. Oh there are some abandoned cars in the car park as well. by IAMPOMO1 (Sun 20th Feb 2022 2:13am)
  • I really don't think so, the building is close enough to central station for people to find better and affordable housing outside the city. Also the pandemic has contributed to people wanting to have better lives than cooped up in flats in the city centre. I honestly think that current construction in Glasgow is geared towards totally the wrong demographic...rich Chinese students, offices that are going to be empty, buildings that just will be used for 8 hours a day and with the homeless population rising along with rising hours price....Glasgow city council should really focus on building affordable housing in town by IAMPOMO1 (Sun 20th Feb 2022 8:26pm)
  • It really pisses me off that Glasgow has slowly turned into London for housing - expensive housing, rent through the roof, the whole city skyline has turned into some kind of metropolis for luxury student flats.... by IAMPOMO1 (Mon 11th Apr 2022 8:45am)

  • So in total the journey took me 1.5 hours including waiting time for the bus. Car could have taken me 20 mins. by IAMPOMO1 (Sun 14th Aug 2022 12:03am)
  • Tried to get from Cambuslang to Glasgow to have a few drinks with mates. Trains cancelled. Needed to get the 267, three buses didn't show up subsequently. Then got the 263 which stopped at bridgeton, bus driver comes out and says you need to move to the bus in front which was another 263 that was delayed prior. Switch buses and then reach into town finally. Had to then walk 20 mins to get to my mates house. Can't get a taxi cause it's about 50 quid. by IAMPOMO1 (Sun 14th Aug 2022 12:02am)
  • I feel you. So many times ive deciced to not pursue social events only because I keep thinking how do I get home at the end of the evening. Also I want to use less cars or taxi services by IAMPOMO1 (Sun 14th Aug 2022 12:41am)
  • Aye but the roads are not cycle friendly around the surrounding areas of Glasgow by IAMPOMO1 (Sun 14th Aug 2022 11:56am)
  • Between the luxurious student accomodations for international students and partially filled hotels and apartments, I'm shocked at just how much planning permission has been given to these properties while the rest of the population has been driven into the suburbs with poor transportation by IAMPOMO1 (Sun 14th Aug 2022 7:44pm)

  • I honestly think it's the way the potholes are repaired when they get to them. I'm no construction expert or road engineer but just filling them up and patting down with a roller just to shut people up is not the most permanent solution? A section needs to be cut off and repaired? Maybe better construction methods? Honestly the roads around Glasgow city centre are pretty shit as well. Around Bridgeton and merchant city as well is pretty rubbish. I can totally see why we want to stick to our cars than having to bike by IAMPOMO1 (Sun 19th Mar 2023 9:53pm)

  • Its amazintg o think that they have introduced the LEZ zones, cut down on an already shitty bus service and the railways arent faring that well either. On top of that Mon-Sun parking restrictions, expensive garages and expensive city centre flats. Its as though they want people to leave the city centre all together. I mean it takes me 20 minutes to drive from Blantyre to the West End compared to 1 hour using multiple public transport options. by IAMPOMO1 (Mon 10th Jul 2023 2:16pm)
  • Always great to have that mid summer positivity which then all comes crumbling down as soon as the clocks change. Glasgow isn't fucked, but our local govt is. Extortionate rents, buy to let property developments, international student development properties, privatized and shitty bus services, shitty roads, low pay for our public sector workers, rise of "luxury" flats has all been enabled by our govt and supposed leaders. Vote them out. by IAMPOMO1 (Sat 29th Jul 2023 9:12am)
  • This weekend Glasgow is a maze for the cycling event. Unless you're into lycra, cycles and chafing thighs...head to the Edinburgh fringe for the weekend and attend a few free events or budget small ones by IAMPOMO1 (Fri 4th Aug 2023 8:42pm)
