I think you'll love it! I was in london for 3 years while at uni as well and missed it when i moved back to Northumberland, now im in Glasgow and i feel like it's the perfect large city, similar to london in a lot of ways but no where near as chaotic, always feel safe walking around, everyones really friendly. The west end is great to live plenty of cafes, shops and supermarkets, museums, parks, and great transport links especially if you're near a train or subway station, south side is good too, and it's not really a community I'm part of but there's plenty of lgbtq+ spaces around. Easy day trips to Edinburgh too! I think rent/property prices are on the up which is unfortunate but one of the best things about renting in scotland is the leases are monthly so you don't have to be locked into a 12 month contract etc. Loooooaaads of vegan food options everywhere too you'll be fine for food 🤤 by IllicitArtefact (Thu 29th Jul 2021 7:23pm)

Lgbtq people have designated spaces so they can relax and have fun without experiencing homophobia. The only reason straight people would want a space just for them is if they just really wouldn't want to be around non-straight people which is a bit homophobic isn't it. I moved here from newcastle and its the best thing ive ever done, the cities are similar in terms of culture and friendliness but Glasgow is just a cut above. Re. Travel back home etc you just have to get creative with times of day and methods to get the cheapest price/fastest route etc but thats like anywhere 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'd move, see how you go (tenancies aren't yearly like england its like a rolling monthly thing so you aren't really locked in for years at a time) and I'll bet you want to stay.
