  • Morrisons in Partick have a food bank type thing where you can pick up a bag of food for free, no questions asked. Also seconding the recommendation of other for the apps Olio and Too Good to Go. by JuryDuty1692 (Thu 10th Mar 2022 2:29pm)
  • I think living alone on that would be a struggle. Also some lettings agents will check your salary and then only allow you to rent places under a certain amount. I was told the max I could rent was £725/month on a £25k salary and there are rarely any flats available in the West End for less than that. by JuryDuty1692 (Tue 15th Mar 2022 9:47am)

  • Went for a private consultation and they were lovely. Sadly weren't taking NHS patients at the time but maybe that's changed. I'd avoid Smile Dental Care on Great Western road, I found it a pretty unpleasant place when I went. by JuryDuty1692 (Tue 21st Jun 2022 10:04am)

  • I was in the exact same boat a couple years ago, unable to get a retail job with an academic biology background. If you are open to jobs within the NHS I believe they have a policy that if you technically tick all the essential criteria they will give you an interview. So you can spend some time tailoring your CV/cover letter to each one. I'm not saying lie but usually you can figure out how your experience matches criteria on entry level jobs. If you have experience with coding (maybe R or something from your academic background), you might want to consider graduate/trainee tech jobs. I had 0 luck with retail jobs but once I had a little experience coding I was able to land a relatively better paid trainee data job. Good luck in your job search! by JuryDuty1692 (Mon 8th Aug 2022 7:11am)
  • I don't have any advice on printing but just wanted to say your art is fantastic! I love the style of buildings, awesome work. by JuryDuty1692 (Sat 27th Aug 2022 7:46am)
  • Just commenting to mention you want to get a DEhumidifier, as humidifiers add moisture to the air by JuryDuty1692 (Mon 26th Sep 2022 9:36am)
  • The GCC has a separate course for lead climbing. It isn't included in the intro one, or at least wasn't when I did it last year. by JuryDuty1692 (Mon 7th Nov 2022 4:13pm)
