  • We're moving from Dublin to Glasgow and KPM Residential have been great to work with so far! Check out their site maybe? by LadyJekyll (Thu 11th Mar 2021 8:23am)
  • Moving from Dublin to Glasgow on Monday with 3 others! Got a three bedroom apartment in Kelvinside for £1350 pcm plus about £200 council tax. Internet looks like about £35 a month for a good package and budgeting around £150pcm for electricity. Cost of living is much lower than Dublin so I defo recommend it. All in all we're each paying about £480pcm including bills but not including food/recreation. by LadyJekyll (Thu 25th Mar 2021 1:00pm)
  • I would say the opposite. Currently renting with KPM and they've been beyond amazing to work with. Had an issue with keys, fixed in a few hours. Had an issue with the hob and there was an electrician out the next day. I think they're great. by LadyJekyll (Thu 15th Apr 2021 10:10am)
  • We're unsightly! The shame of it all! by LadyJekyll (Wed 21st Apr 2021 8:44pm)

  • Highly recommend Thundercat Pub and Diner. Massive portions and extremely reasonable prices. Very much comfort food and the place has a fun vibe too. by LadyJekyll (Fri 12th Nov 2021 1:01pm)
  • This unfortunately doesn't factor in the CTA. They said explicitly in the new restrictions it includes Great Britain. by LadyJekyll (Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:16pm)
  • Cheers! Since I'm fully vaxxed I only need a lab conducted antigen rather than a PCR ( MUCH cheaper thankfully ) so I'll see if they do them too! by LadyJekyll (Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:27pm)
  • Yeah I think if you're outside the EU or Britain they want a PCR but yeah, just saw their antigens so I'll defo look into them by LadyJekyll (Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:34pm)
  • Yep. For ireland specifically fully vaccinated folks can get entry with a lab conducted antigen test. Only non vaccinated people need a PCR by LadyJekyll (Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:36pm)
  • Moneys not the best and there's 4 of us so with PCR being around 100 quid vs the the antigen being around 30, we'd much prefer the antigen for 30 by LadyJekyll (Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:36pm)
  • I wish. Booked our Christmas flights with ryanair to Dublin back in September and keen not to lose out on the cost of 4 flights over hahaha by LadyJekyll (Sat 4th Dec 2021 12:34pm)

  • My partner had the same with lots of coughing. Got a PCR test, was negative. Doc said it was a nasty bacterial chest infection so there's definitely a few things going round! by LadyJekyll (Tue 21st Dec 2021 9:05pm)
  • A lot of shoe repair places won't do Docs because of the unique sole but I hope you find somewhere! by LadyJekyll (Sun 9th Jan 2022 4:20pm)
  • Moved last year and what I did was find a few venues I liked then checked on their "what's on" pages on their website every couple of weeks. Best way to find out what's upcoming you might wanna go to by LadyJekyll (Sat 26th Mar 2022 11:42am)

  • Heya! Selling my art is my full time job so I do thus almost every month! Rather than going local I get all mine done via Printed.com ! If you go to their "leaflets and flyers" section you can choose your size and thickness. I get really nice matte heavyweight ones done. The more you order the cheaper they are. Its worth increasing your quantity to see how much you can get for a smaller price, they're super well priced. Their turnaround time is also great. I'd say no more than 5 days for prints but last time I ordered I had them within 2 days. Hope this helps! by LadyJekyll (Fri 26th Aug 2022 9:47am)
  • This largely depends. MCM means travelling down to London and forking out London Hotel prices. London MCM has better guests and better bigger name vendors but is largely a place for the more cosplay heavy folk to go and socialise. ACME is new and it'll save you a fortune. Their March con was a lil smaller but well run. This time they're gonna be in the bigger hall in the SECC and have absolutely expanded their map. My job is selling my art at conventions. MCM makes me more money. However I much prefer the vibe and community at ACME. For me, ACME is more fun than MCM London and MCM London is more commercial. by LadyJekyll (Sat 10th Sep 2022 9:53am)
  • Its EXTREMELY stressful haha. Have been selling there the last few years and it's incredibly overwhelming and hard to move around a lot of the time. by LadyJekyll (Sat 10th Sep 2022 11:29am)
  • Aye but there's been some dicey accusations about the fella who runs it so I'd rather my money not go into his pocket. by LadyJekyll (Sat 10th Sep 2022 11:27am)

  • Not half way BUT if he's willing to come to Glasgoe the Barras Market might give the same vibes as car boot sales? by LadyJekyll (Sun 6th Nov 2022 4:09pm)
  • Yep! Lived in Dublin for 10 years before moving to Glasgow for the last 2. Glasgow is cheaper and has much much more to offer. I can avail of the free NHS care as apposed to the privately funded HSE. We had to live with family in Dublin despite two of us working full time but can afford a comfy 3 bedroom here. Food is also cheaper here in Glasgow. There's just no contest for me. by LadyJekyll (Wed 7th Dec 2022 7:00pm)
  • Thundercat do an amazing chicken and waffles. by LadyJekyll (Thu 23rd Feb 2023 3:00pm)
  • Heya! Moved from Dublin to Glasgow in early 2021. Unless you have a guarantor, you're gonna have to prepare to pay 6 months rent up front more than likely. Have enough money to live on for a bit too, while you find a job. While housing is a little difficult to find in Glasgow it's not a patch on Dublin. It took us about a week of searching to find something but that was still during the pandemic so less people were looking for flats. Cost of living is significantly cheaper here. Highly recommend leaving Dublin behind for Glasgow, I will never look back. by LadyJekyll (Tue 21st Mar 2023 2:40am)
  • Singl-End in Merchant City is lovely by LadyJekyll (Sat 25th Mar 2023 1:06pm)
  • Only slightly related but I don't want to clog the sub by making it its own post. Anyone had their landlord dump the letting agency and manage the property themself? Been living here two years and just got an email from the landlord saying he's dropping KPM and we'll be paying him direct from now on with just one guy as like an in between rep. Kinda nervous about it but want to see if anyone has been in this situation and it was grand? by LadyJekyll (Thu 20th Apr 2023 9:23am)
  • So far he seems to be! Haven't had any issues in the last two years and has always been on it when it comes to repairs so here's hoping it's even more smooth sailing from here. by LadyJekyll (Thu 20th Apr 2023 9:51am)
  • Haha this was my first panic response but I rang the letting agency to confirm and they said the landlord is indeed taking it private. by LadyJekyll (Thu 20th Apr 2023 9:50am)
  • Tbh I'd much rather pay for an expensive coffee than an expensive pint. At least with coffee you know there's a bit of artistry and skill to making it good, and you'll likely only drink one while you're in the cafe. by LadyJekyll (Fri 12th May 2023 12:21pm)
  • Making beer, yeah, absolutely. But if we're talking expensive pints it's not the brewers charging, it's the venues. I'd pay more for a craft beer if it's the brewer selling it direct to me but it's some lad in a venue pulling a shit pint and charging me £6 then absolutely not by LadyJekyll (Fri 12th May 2023 2:07pm)
  • You haven't even specified any kind of field? Like work from home could be thousands of things. You're best improving a skill you already have and find a way to make it independently marketable. I've worked from home and been self employed for the last two years because I started taking my illustration and product design seriously. Good luck. by LadyJekyll (Fri 14th Jul 2023 3:39pm)
  • Irish person living in Glasgow here and in Ireland, everyone is a Lad regardless of gender. I'm sure there are pockets of Scotland with the same slang. by LadyJekyll (Thu 24th Aug 2023 10:54pm)
